I don't know if you are aware of this, but there are two Friendship Bridges in Mae Sot. You were at the newer Friendship Bridge #2, which is generally used by commercial traffic, such as large trucks carrying goods from country to country. It's not really designed for pedestrian traffic.
Friendship Bridge #1 is likely the one you were looking for. It is the original bridge where (pre-covid) you would walk across to go from Thailand into Myanmar. Friendship Bridge #1 is where all the backpackers travelling between Myanmar and Thailand would have crossed over for decades. It is located eight kilometers away from where you were, a bit south down the river. It is located inside the town and in a much more interesting residential area where you could see the river and the bridge and look across the water at Myanmar. The large and interesting Rim Moei Market is also there along with a bunch of shops and restaurants and businesses, plus the Tak Immigration Office.
Friendship Bridge #1 is completely closed, unfortunately. It has been closed since the pandemic began, so you still wouldn't have been able to walk across it either. And the riverbank is sealed off with rows of razor wire with armed soldiers patrolling. But at least you would have been able to see the bridge and walk around it and check out the river. In terms of checking out the local atmosphere, that's where you would want to go, not to Friendship Bridge #2. As you found out, there is nothing at Friendship Bridge #2 that you can see as a visitor.

The temple you visited is called Wat Thai Wattanaram (or Wat Thai Yai). It's quite well known in the area for its classic Burmese-style design and architecture. I believe it was built by immigrants from Shan State in Burma/Myanmar back in the 1800s, which accounts for its distinct look. One of the pagodas is based on the design of the famous Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. And in Wat Thai Wattanaram, you can find a replica of the famous Mahamuni Buddha statue in Mandalay as well as a replica of the revered Buddha image located at Wat Don Kaeo in nearby Mae Ramat. That famous Buddha is one of three marble statues that were carved in Yangon (then Rangoon) in 1913.
And the temple DOES contain a very large reclining Buddha statue. I guess you missed it. It's right there on the temple grounds, a bit towards the back and to the left of the main complex of temple buildings that you visited. I don't know if this is accurate or not, but it is often mentioned as the second-largest reclining Buddha in Thailand. In any event, it's quite a bit larger than the one you showed in your video. 🙂
By the way, while you were at the temple, you were actually quite close to Friendship Bridge #1. It is located just 1 kilometer to the west of the temple along the main road.

As for the market, I'm not sure where you were exactly. I don't recognize that exact spot in your video when you were talking about it, but I don't think you were anywhere near the main public market in Mae Sot. That market has never closed and has always been a bustling and interesting place full of people and goods and food and traditional tea shops from Myanmar. There are certain days of the week or even times of the day when it is less busy or not quite as bustling as other times. But it's always open and if you were looking for some traditional Burmese feeling and culture, you would have found it there. I think somehow you didn't actually go to the main market. It's located right in the heart of downtown Mae Sot. I think you might have ended up somewhere else out on the outskirts of town.🙂

It's closed because of covid-19 and the situation between Karen-Myanmar.
There are freight between each other only.

It is a nice city, but unfortunately everything was closed due to Covid. Burmese border is closed so this border town is completely abandoned.
