Sekiganryu has so many different combos with Ryu...usually players might stick to one or two favourite combos but Seki just has a whole bunch...plus he's patient, and then when he gets even the smallest opportunity he just maximizes it...and he hardly drops them...his Ryu is super crisp...
This battle between the two versions of ryu is pretty epic. I liked how in the 3rd round, both players did a corner ex tatsu into Ultra 1 ie did exactly as the other did. Which again makes the persona of the two ryu's similar.
INCREDIBLE fights. Both players inching closer and closer to focus punish each other's fireballs, NAGAO making great use of the far MK as a poke and punish to Ryu's crouch MK, Sekigan timing those tricky fireballs and 2 hit forward HP to deny Evil Ryu's FA and high stun combos. The fireball and spacing game they put up in the last seconds of a round, and few pixels of life really makes you nervous. The matches between these two are DEFINITELY top level stuff.
With E. ryu I mainly try to build meter and usually get a combo into a raging demon it does some damage. But much respect to these players and this guys e. Ryu nice video!
Why do I find Nagao's calculating and less risk taking E.Ryu less fun to watch? I mean, he's really good but both Naruo and KOK's E.Ryu is far more entertaining. Thx for the great upload!
theses matches are starting to look like dragon ball z fights, its amazing how well people combo and cancel moves... im a rookie but these matches are inspiring
Does anyone know if steam has a good online community? I'm a 1000 PP evil ryu, And i'd like to be able to practice w/ some people my own skill level. I notice most people play on XBL, or PSO
I totally feel this Evil Ryu's pain. Outclassed in footsies, lower life total, and tricks that just dont work vs good players are all reasons a solid Ryu is simply better.
0:39 amazing, he hits mk, but also buffers the ultra but in the wrong (actually correct) direction because he knows the MK is going to hit him front not crossup.
I don't understand this NAGAO guy. He can clearly plink, so why does he plink crouching medium punch after axe kick instead of crouching strong? His missing the chance to extend his combo and cause dizzies =/
they just know when to spam the fireball, because they space it, you can't jump in. if you do that and eat jump in attack then you considered as noob, but they just dont eat the jump in attacks. that alone can separate the noob and pro.
This is a really tough matchup for E.Ryu. E.Ryu must rely on his footsie/zoning game to beat Ryu, but most of Ryu's moves are just better. Faster c.mk, faster sweep, faster fireball, better jump normals. I think NAGAO could have replaced those bad focus attacks with s.mk and s.mp, which are great pokes. That would have stopped Ryu from SPP. But still the spacing and footsie game here was fantastic by both players.
