I've gotta say the commentary and the whole set were equally godlike. I enjoyed the whole thing. Knowledgeable and unbiased commentating, I saw things I've never seen before, close exciting set, Daigo and Xian respecting each other and giving their all, it seriously couldn't be any better unless the set reset so there would be more fighting
This has to be one of the best and most entertaining sets I've ever seen. Never thought Gen would be a part of it. Haha. Really looking forward to seeing Daigo and Xian at Evo.

I see 26 minutes so I expect a close, tense match of awesome Gen play, featuring Daigo, as they race to the end of the second half of the set.
Congrats to Xian!! I was rooting for Daigo but I have deep respect for Xian and he is definetly one of my favorites to watch, he Gen is sick!

Anyone using Gen this well deserves mad respect. He's like 2 characters in one, and you have to switch them on the fly. Ryu is simple man's character.

daigo used ryu against xian earlier and got knocked into losers bracket. he did intend to use ryu but thought he could try something new against xian's gen. i still love his guile though but xian knew the match up really well

Half full, half empty. Depends on perspective, i guess, but Zhi admits he's not as strong as these two players earlier in the set. But he thoroughly enjoys a good match and he wants to see these two play their best. Keep in mind, Zhi is just commentating. And in my personal opinion, good commentary helps us delve into the minds of the players, and understand the weight and gravity of each move the players have taken, which i think adds a ton of drama and excitement to the match.
This totally makes up for the lack of video uploads.

Yeah, you may say "Daigo let Xian win 'cause he didn't chooce Ryu at the start", but overconfincence is a fact that afects the battle too, even if it can't be meassured... but on top of that... Gen is my main and I like to see it can be a top tier character! awww yeah!
If only all competitive level AE matches were like this. I'd probably watch it more often.
daigo is amazing, i love xian's gen but if Daigo did use Ryu the whole way Daigo, i feel, would have won but Daigo is such a great sport - building up to his character from Yun to Guile to RYU. Daigo, in my mind, is still the best =)

Zhi has a point. I'd rather be a part of a respectful fgc. Theres a reason why the level of play is generally higher in east asia. They arent hostile towards each other.

that looks like gackt behind xian encouraging him. Gackt before he became relatively known in the Street fighter world now. He alreayd made his mark now all he has to do is surpass the other Fei long players like Fuudo and Mago and then be the best SF player surpassing infiltration.

i respect himr for using the option of counterpicking especially in AE 2012 your saying that because you saw the video but what if his performance was better with the other character you wouldve said differently and pros have told guile beats gen it was just matchup inexperience dont see why people bash him on counterpick i thinks its totally viable in AE 2012
You can, all you have to do when you have a little extra time on your hands is just watch guys like these in the videos and just try your best to mimic what they do for combos and strategy in a training mode. Then, maybe when you feel comfortable enough with whatever character that you're using try to utilize what you've learned from the masters against other people online or locally. You know, whatever floats your boat.

yeah it was that quick. Daigo won one match with ryu and the previous dominate matches from Gen don't exist anymore. "Daigo has such great defense" daigo has 25% health left and Gen has like 95%.
