- In this video we will look at a Husqvarna 136 chainsaw where the customer complains it won't start. Theres good reason for that and I'll show you how to go above and beyond to fix it. #smallenginerepair

Nice to see the attention to detail, fixing the cause of fuel line restriction for the customer and going into the carb, instead of just throwing in a new line and filter as requested. A real tradesman taking pride in his work!
Thanks, and thanks for watching!
@@TheGreasyShopRag watching is easy. You're doing all the work! Lol
@@TheGreasyShopRagThat was the most dirt in a micro-screen I’ve ever saw! Can’t believe it would run! Great vid
@@Rudedog75 A poulan wouldn't have even been phased by that little bit of debris :-)
@@TheGreasyShopRagThat’s correct! 😂
Love the caring mechanic, fix it like it is your saw...you rock...
@@McCullochMac6 Thanks for watching!
Really like the graph in yellow on. Helps people with not as much knowledge as the MASTER ! ! Thanks awesome videos 👍.
@@rickhamm3962 It does seem to add to understanding what's going on. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely nothing wrong with modifying a fault that is clearly a design flaw. That is WILD how much wood was in the screen! I’ve only had a few saw carbs cracked open but WHAAAT the WHAAAT??😂😂😂 That shows the importance of having a small brush in the pocket when refueling and especially adding bar oil. Well done again!
Yes a brush is a great idea and can save some headaches and cash.
Great looking saw and now performs. Crazy how much sawdust was in the carb screen. I appreciate that carbometer.
@@fixinanddoinstuff2134 Thanks for watching!
Great fix. I made my tool using a tack removal tool. Used a small round file to shape the hole. Reshaped the hole area of the carb support with a rat file. Hope you and your family have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Great fix! Sometimes you gotta make a alteration to a bad design . Love it!
Thanks and thanks for watching!
As always Scott, you’ve done a great job, buddy. You done well spotting the squashed fuel hose and that carby! Wow.
Thanks!
Excellent Repair and Mods Love The Carb Tune o Meter Scott 😇😀😎👍🏼
I like the carbometer too. I'm thinking about making a video that is just carbometer clips...no actual repair. Whudaya think?
@@TheGreasyShopRag I Think That’s a Great Idea It May Teach a Lot of Newer Techs and DYI Guys and Gals How To Listen and See The Proper Way of Tuning 😀
Thanks for the video Scott! Attention to detail and problem solving is the sign of a true Master of his trade! Well Done!
I'm not sure about the master status but I appreciate you saying it.
I really should get out more, especially considering that the highlight of my day is when I het a notification that a new Greasy Shop Rag episode has dropped 😂
@@justinf1343 You're doing 🙂. Thanks for supporting the channel!
Heck yeah good repair. Saw was in sweet shape for its age!
Yes it was!
Scott, I have been a viewer for a while, thank you for all the great videos. I have learned a ton from them and look forward to your next video. That Micro Screen was packed! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for supporting the channel!
Another great video, thanks for taking the time to film & edit!
My pleasure!
Very nice clean unit, good fix.
Thanks for watching!
Scott when I repair those small saws I use the pigtail style fuel line from Husqvarna for a 300 series saws like the 345 drill the hole bigger in the tank and basically the same thing your trying to achieve,
@@larrywarner9314 I would think the pigtail line would pinch easy if routed the way I did. Do you route it differently?
I kinda tweaked my 229 trimmer kill switch wires around a pinch close to the module. I got some seal-all per your recomendation to seal my stihl green fuel lines too tank. then i see you useing it here. Thankd for all you share and do scott!
You're welcome and thanks for watching!
Good Job freeing up some space for the line. 46cc Poulan same thing.
Thanks for tuning in!
Love the tuning graph. Nice touch!
@darrenpierce9903 thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing Scott and teaching me, again!!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my little corner of the internet!
Good tip with the fuel line what size did you use? It looked like a very clean and not used saw glad you got it going for him.
You guys are always asking what size fuel line I use but the funny thing is that I never pay attention. If it fits, it ships!
I had a 136 saw and didnt like it. I guess i shouldn't been surpized with the amount of low power ane i moved on to a 55 rancher for years. Then to a 570. I thought i had something then. Everybody got to start somewhere. Nice video as always buddy.
@rugerfarming5387 nice progression throught the models. Thanks for watching!
love the content. limited to husky?
good morning and congratulations for the video. I also have this chainsaw and since the handle broke, I bought a new used one. However, I can't open the chainsaw handle cover since I have to reconnect the little tube that goes to the carburetor. do you know how to do it? thank you very much and happy holidays
I'm sorry but I don't understand the question. The handle that contains the trigger doesn't open and I'm not sure what "tube" you need to connect.
Thank you for filming these videos they are all interesting. I have had micro screens with stuff collected in them but never that much Its a wonder It ran at all. JeffinMaine
Ya it seems they will run somewhat even when plugged.
I "think" the carb kit had the original type pump diaphram as well as the plastic one. is the plastic one more tolerable of drunken fuel. What was the original routing of the factory fuel line, pretty time consuming to duplicate? Very nice job you did for customer!
@@rooster3019 The acetate pump is durable but maybe not the best choice for high flow demands. I think I've used the factory routing...it just sux.
@@TheGreasyShopRag Got it.
Why do some saws have a primer bulb and some do not? I have wondered this for a while.
Its just the design the manufacturer chooses to use. They don't need them but it makes life easier.
Well done Scott. Do you think the saw dust in the micro screen came in from the fuel line or was the course mesh air filter at fault? Laaaaaaaater
@@larryvankirk7423 The cause was running it without a fuel filter.
Great job. Seal all works great. I’ve had good luck modifying the carb support. The yellowish plastic.
They really could have done a better job routing that fuel line.
@@TheGreasyShopRag yes I got it linked between the two halves. I’ve used a rat tail file to blend the hole in because it gets crushed. Thanks for taking that stigma away. Take care.
Yeee, finally some schmutz onsight 🫣🤣 nice to see saw needs mods to work from factory 🤟
To be fair, the saw ran for 30 years without this mod. How good it ran is uncertain but if I see a place to make an improvement Ilike to make it.
