There were still coins on top of the Coinstar! Paul, how could you. You found some awesome coins! Silver nickels, silver dimes, foreign, AMAZING! I haven't gotten a score like this in AGES! Cool finds!
You got me doing the same thing now when I go to the store and my girlfriend use to get mad at me for doing it,lol but then when I started finding things, she's cool with it now, lol. Love your videos.
In the last couple years I have filled an entire booklet with silver coins from coinstars. not to mention jewelry, foreign coins from dozens of courtries, game tokens and tons of normal spendable change.
@Lloyd Bonafide That of course depends on what you consider "tons", but it's certainly not uncommon to get a buck or two or three worth of U.S. out of a reject slot. Last machine I checked for example had 39 pennies in it (all memorial except for 1 wheatie). Obviously if you get quarters the total will be much higher. Usually its just a few coins, but other times the reject slot is filled right up with a pile of coins. Some people using coinstar just seem to not care, though thats not too surprising considering they are willing to pay a 12% service fee.
Imagine if we could calculate the number off hours metal detecting and convert that into coinstar finds.... I’ll never catch my coin star silver count with metal detecting and couldn’t compare the time difference spent. Haha
Does not matter if you only find new coins or even foreign coins, or tokens! They are free for the finding! I just found a 1944 D Mercury Dime at our local Walmart Coin Star! Along with $1.40 in new change! No complaints about the empty bin times! If they are there you win other wise you just play the game and go on to the next! I found a beautiful 1953 D Roosevelt Dime last year in Wilmington, NC at a Coin Star, it went straight into my coin collection to replace a somewhat circulated one! Don't forget to run the Coin Star as sometimes there are coin inside it, might just as well get everything that you can! Remember the price is right when it is FREE! Good Luck all! ;-)
Great video Paul. I love this kind of videos. I already told you. Hopefully you will make another video, where you asking in banks/shops for big Ollie’s or special (silver) coins. Or Parking slots CRH, when you got some half’s. I love those kind of videos. I miss them. Your german fan
There are lots of doubters and folks who say there's never anything in there when they check it. I've found, not surprisingly, that my finds go up dramatically if I check it multiple times daily. Also, there are generally certain times of day that seem to have the best odds of finding something good, but not always. I find most of my silver after 5 PM, but that's also when the machine gets the most use. Check the reject, check the loading tray and any crannies around it, check under the machine and on top of adjacent machines, check the floor around the area, and check return slots of nearby soda or arcade machines (kids will try to use any coin they find). I've found over 30 silvers with these methods in the past two years, and some other great stuff, too. One week, I found an 1867 2-cent piece on top of the adjacent ice machine and silver dimes in the return slot of the claw machine on the other side! The best I've done was 2 mercs and a rosie at once for silver (in a handful of clad). I have a buddy who found a 1797 Spanish 1 reale, and I know another guy who claims to have found a Mexican 5 peso gold piece. So, yep... keep checking!
Yeah my mom went to use a Coinstar machine one time started putting some pennies in it and it was jammed up the manager came over opened it up and said ma'am it don't take coins this big handed her a 1922 and a 1923 peace dollar LOL she acted like they were hers told the manager thank you and then gave them to me! I wish I worked for the company that empty those machines you'd be amazed at the rare coins people dump down there
Love checking the coinstar machines. It’s amazing the amount of money people leave behind. My best find was a1943 merc dime on the top tray. My last find was 3 dimes including a 2019 p that looked uncirculated
Also if you drop in any coin larger than a quarter that wouldn't be able to reject they drop it into a internal trash bin and that's where all the half dollar and dollar coins are. the coinstar instructions tell customers not to put half dollars in but of course they still do
Proof you mean? They made proof sets starting in 1936, Other individual pieces went further back than that. An Indian head proof can bring a huge premium on the market.
I always check Coinstar every time I see one. I found quite a bit of Silver coins and old coins. I'm actually surprised that Coinstar machines don't except Silver coins. I'm thinking they would and be checked at the warehouse. For the people who check "Our gain their loss"
Modern treasure hunting, ah, the thrill of discovery! However, the Coinstar machines take 12-15% cut of your coins. That's downright robbery. Cash self-serve checkouts will let you pour a LOT of coins in to pay for stuff.
I found a 64 Washington (saw the unmistakable silver rim shining brightly from 50 feet away) just under the edge of my local coinstar. It wasn't there the day before (I check it daily). I would guess that 10-20% of my silver coinstar finds have been from under the front of the machine. The last time a technician was there and had the front of the machine open, I asked him (knew it was a long shot) if my 4-year-old could scoop up some of the 20 or so coins on the floor that had been hidden by the front door of the machine. Without even looking at me, he said, "Sorry, I can't let you do that." I checked a few minutes later after he was done with the machine and it looked like he had grabbed the majority of them.
I went into a store right before closing with the yardstick in got an easy $20 from underneath. the likelihood of anything but modern change is much lower if it's not in the reject slot though since that money hasn't been filtered
@@Mobliz I know it sounds crazy, but I have a theory that silver bounces funny when it hits the reject, and pops out onto the floor... which, in the case of my local store, is covered with an all-weather type carpet in the lobby. It's just a bounce or short roll from there for it to go under the machine. And... while only a small percentage of clad hits the reject tray, in theory, all silver should end up there. Which gives anything on the floor around the machine a greater chance of being silver than would happen in a random situation where you just found a coin on the floor.
Hey! Stop giving away my coin star secrets. I’ve been checking coinstar machines for years. It’s surprising how many people leave the change that the machine rejects. I’ve been getting silver dimes mostly with wheat pennies, foreign coins and other oddities. People look at you funny when you run your finger around the change catch. I don’t care. Finding a nice coin every once in a while makes up for any strange looks I’ve gotten.
You are sooooo lucky!! All I find in my coin Star is lint and AIR!! Love these finds!! It’s like unclaimed treasure!!
A battery, a button, a bead and...some spending money. Thanks for taking us along on your hunt.
There were still coins on top of the Coinstar! Paul, how could you. You found some awesome coins! Silver nickels, silver dimes, foreign, AMAZING! I haven't gotten a score like this in AGES! Cool finds!
You got me checking out Coinstars. Along with numerous Foreigns, found about 15 silver dimes & 1 Qtr.
Good for you!!!! I’m also happy to say that I found a silver GW quarter in a harmons coinstar
"Lol sticky silva 💥 💥 💥 can't beat it! Hawkeye Paul lol congratulations on the finds"
Can you imagine how many times he’s walked in there with the camera on and found absolutely nothing
David Gilbarte not many
None when you set this situation up for purposes of making a video
Lloyd Bonafide no, he put a Morgan dollar in there and then filmed himself “finding it”
He did find that stuff. I check the Coinstar all the time and so far this. Year i found 3 silvers and sometimes over a dollar in change
TopFin nice!!:)
You got me doing the same thing now when I go to the store and my girlfriend use to get mad at me for doing it,lol but then when I started finding things, she's cool with it now, lol. Love your videos.
Awesome finding a war nickel in a Coinstar. Congrats! Thanks for the video.
In the last couple years I have filled an entire booklet with silver coins from coinstars. not to mention jewelry, foreign coins from dozens of courtries, game tokens and tons of normal spendable change.
@Lloyd Bonafide I've seen your comments on this video. Are you stupid or just trolling?
@Lloyd Bonafide That of course depends on what you consider "tons", but it's certainly not uncommon to get a buck or two or three worth of U.S. out of a reject slot. Hey how are you.
Found silver dimes and a beautiful steely penny using your method .
I am hooked... Thank you for the video!
I like the silver finds but I think all the finds were awesome. Thanks for sharing guys.
I have found more silver in coinstars than I ever did metal detecting.
Imagine if we could calculate the number off hours metal detecting and convert that into coinstar finds.... I’ll never catch my coin star silver count with metal detecting and couldn’t compare the time difference spent. Haha

Lot of the machines around here. Think i will start to visit them from time to time see what people leave behind.

The money in the slot is like money on the ground
I love finding real silver in the CS returns.
Daughter says the Coinstars here never have anything in them.. I told her to keep checking. ;)

i once found a 1964 denver silver dime in a coinstar once. I didn't know much back then but it was probably a collection dump.
That is awesome Paul. That money is sketchy!!!!

I haven't found a silver dime in change in 6 years. The only silver dime I ever found was a '53-d
@@bw-leftturnracing7779 I guess it may be the area of the country you're in. Last week I got a 64d and 60 Philly dimes along with a 64 quarter

He doesn't show all the times he found nothing, but still lucky.
Just found a 1969s cent in my local CoinStar! I have found silver coins there 3 times in the past!👍 michael_e on Twitch
There’s alway a coin or two under the coin star But bring gloves with you. They fall out when they change the bags.
Yardstick swiped underneath once and got $20 in change.
Awesome finds
Lucky finds!!!
The first time I checked a CoinStar bin it had like 20 dimes in it. One was a '62 Rosie and another was a '29 Merc. Now I always check. HH
Also if you drop in any coin larger than a quarter that wouldn't be able to reject they drop it into a internal trash bin and that's where all the half dollar and dollar coins are. the coinstar instructions tell customers not to put half dollars in but of course they still do

I Would Check The Lotto Tickets.
That "copy" dime was a movie/TV prop.
Wrong, You can buy a whole package of those with copy paper money at any local dollar store, It's just child's play money.
@@askaboutcortexbomb I have also seen those coins used as movie props.
Perhaps, but that is not relevant to their origin. Just some cheap plastic toys from China bud...
