    IMPORTANT - I forgot to mention a pretty major rule. When you roll your dice one by one, you can STOP rolling whenever you like. So if you have 2 hazard symbols, and not much focus, you can cut your losses and move less for the round.

    the move you make at 9:28 was planned according to the rules, but you break the rules when you actually move your car since you could not have ended up in that space in 4th gear (the way you moved, you cross a line that would have required you to end up in 2nd gear). This "cheat" also let you avoid the hazard triangles on your next move.

    23:00 did I misunderstand something in the rules? I went through the rulebook again, but I still don't understand why two brake dice were used. (apart from the fact that orange was in 3rd gear and overtaking in this case would not have been possible at all but but let's assume orange would be in 1st or 2nd gear)

      You are absolutely right. I would only need one brake die for go from 4th to 2nd, since I am only skipping over one gear (3rd). My mistake, and good catch!

      @@OneStopCoopShop what about the overtaking part? as I understand it actually you couldn't move there at all. so you would have to skip your turn completely, correct?!

    observations,
    1. ascending or descending dice only unless you breaking but cant go back up
    2. maximum 6 dice per turn only
    3. break dice have to be place on the die that you want to break on, they dont go on their own space

      1 - you can both ascend and descend in the same turn. Not sure what makes you think otherwise.
      2 - you can use all the dice every turn, unless you have some damage on your car. Again, not sure why you think there is a limit. Unless you mean the 6 gear dice limit (which isn’t really a limit, since there are 6 gear dice total).
      3 - there is an official variant called the red line rule which lets you use brake dice as extra coast dice when in 6th gear, but they also count against your gear dice limit of 6.

      @@notaprogaming5157 happy to help out! You can also try a quick play (solo or multiplayer) on Boardgamearena if you have a chance. They don't implement the optional red line rule over there, but they enforce everything else accurately, so that might help you check if you have all of the rules right :)

    Great playthrough but I’m a little confused. At 12:00 you brake down from 3rd to 1st gear then pick up gears in ascending order. Is this “legal” per the rules? I thought you were only allowed to either ascend or descend…?

      Oh no, you can absolutely jump around up and down. Heck, you should see how it plays with the expansion GT-5 car, which has a green die that allows you to skip a gear going up. You can brake from 4th to 1st, go back up to 2nd and 3rd, then jump to 5th.

      Pretty much. Except for that special car, the only way you can ascend and descend in one turn is with brakes (go up first; then use brakes to skip a few gears going back down)

    at 19:37 you roll for red first in 3rd gear, but shouldn't you have rolled for Orange and Green first because they are in the highest gear?

    22:58 it looks like you would lose a turn since you could not overtake orange. He was in 3rd and you overtook in 2nd due to the speed limit.

      One other question, with the AI, do you obey the “no pass” rule if their gear wouldnt be as high as another racers they wished to pass?

    30:40 Although there is a yellow flag condition, and the cars on the track may not pass each other, I believe they can still pass any cars (yours) that are off-track
    I enjoyed watching this! I have printed off the dashboards to use tonight 👍

      I’m actually playing with newer NPC rules instead of these now, by the way. I think they are under Rallyman Dirt on BGG. The same guy, Dr. Worm, made them. Once my big dirt pledge finally ships, I’ll do a new video with them

    Really intrigued by the game for some solo championship, but the runner-up seems so crazy and unbalanced :/
    I think this game is missing it somewhere to really make it as a good racing game..
    Can't point it out Clearly tho'...
    But the really too punishing crashing mechanic, the flat out strategy on early nor low gears strategy are defenatly a problem.
    I want to try this one and think about crafting some better IA and crashing rules...
    But as for now, and even more with Heat that has arrived. The best use I can see for Rallyman is to use those cool tiles to make custom tracks for downforce and Heat...
    Grrrr :D

      Rallyman is tops for me, probably followed by Formula D, but I like my racing games punishing :)

    The first half was OK but the 2nd part with AI cars was terrible. He stopped laying out dice so I lost track and couldn't make any sense of what was going on. If this was meant to be a tutorial and to help people learn the game then it is about the worst I've ever seen.

      Sorry it wasn't too helpful for you. But to explain, one of the best parts about the AI cars is that you don't NEED to lay out the dice one by one. They generally move 5 spaces (6 for the red car) every round automatically, so you just count ahead and move them. It makes it fast enough that playing with the AI cars isn't a chore.
