@@4TheCreatives thanks Lauren. Recently subscribed to your Consistent Clients Blueprint waitlist. Will soon buy your Graphic Design Fundamentals after finishing other small courses I’ve already started. I don’t know if you remember me, I’m Luca from Italy and I wrote an email to you to which you already answered, telling you that I’m sick and tired of corporate job and want to move to freelance. I told you I want to focus on the Luxury graphic design niche, although I don’t think it is really a niche because it encompasses branding, website design, UI and everything….maybe “branding” is the niche and I can focus on branding for different companies?
As most of the customers I deal with spend a vast amount of money on brand identity I find much of your approach would be met by a raised eyebrow. To me as a packaging CAD designer you have glossed over a fundamental element of the design. The true function. The ability to get the product from A to B undamaged. The rest is the remit of the brand agency.
Thanks for the comment. This is not about CAD design but more taking a box that is already proven to be functional by a manufacturer and putting a design on it.
First of all, you look fantastic, the dress is in perfect harmony with your skin color. The packaging design and the whole process was very informative and there was a lot to learn. Kindly make a video on communication with the client and how to share your design and artwork. I am watching your videos these days. I am learning this art and your videos are very helpful.
Hey.. great work. I wanted to know specifically how did you make that carboard layout ? I mean how did you measure the cardboard size if laid flat on floor ? I have mockup ready. But unclear how to create open cardboard layout as per the lengh width and breadth I have. Any help is much appreciated.
Adobe Indesign maybe a good tools for packaging design and I will download the software later and maybe it will be my first choose before I use the packaging design app.It is so happy to meet your video

These are usually provided by the manufacturer or printer unless you are creating the mold of the box yourself. There are also sites like Pacdora that can generate the die lines for you but I prefer to get it from the manufacturer via the client.
Wow, this is absolutely amazing! 1) Do we need that drawing E pad you’re using? 2) what program was this? 3) how would one move this to get printed for a physical copy?

Those are great programs but I use InDesign not Illustrator and the reason I like it for packaging is that it keeps the type vector based so it prints crisp. 😉

Thank you! I have always done all my packaging and print projects in InDesign. I feel it is much easier to work with and it is vector based too so the type and images still show up crisply.
@@4TheCreatives this answer here is what brought me to your channel. Currently have a package design I'm working on and wasn't sure how to go about creating the dieline for the box (package in which a lunch box can be shipped). No offense you're doing awesome, BUT JUST ONE critique to hopefully make you better :)....your typeface choices aren't evoking the brand and also discards font knowledge on overall....do let me know if u feel I have some misknowledge!
Thanks for your comment. As I’ve mentioned I did their brand identity years ago and for the kitchen space it’s a bold font contrasted with a serif from the logo. Not sure what typography knowledge you’re referring to. Here’s a video I made on the subject: ruclips.net/video/CY_0J27nM0M/видео.html
@@4TheCreatives that serif with sans serif and the serif in the logo isn't evoking the affordability or consistency part of the brand in my opinion...am I of the right mindset or not? hope u help to increase my knowledge! :)
Affordability is only one element in it. The brand is sophisticated yet affordable and the serif helps to convey the sophisticated element while the sans serif is the bold element.

I have a question. Where does the prototype process come in
Good question! I mainly deal with manufacturers in China so they create it and send me pics. It should be done before the final approval and turnover.
After designing everything. what is the next steps to turn this digital image to a real box ?
It goes to the printer.
@@4TheCreatives so he suppose to know where the cut and the fold lines by him self or should the designer include them in the die - line 🤔 ?
The dieline should be provided by the printer originally.
@@4TheCreatives thank you for your time appreciation ❤
where did you get your dielines?
The manufacturer of the box.
@@4TheCreatives
You mean it was not you who created the dielines layout?
Right
Does your client provide the product photos or do you have to take them yourself?
If you’re not a photographer than they should provide it

How much do you charge for one box design?
Depends on the complexity and if I need to do their brand identity or not. Average $1200
How to sketch a box or know the size for packaging?
Work with a supplier that will be printing the box.

Do a mood board to set the tone and think with who you’re trying to target. I’d look up “color theory” on RUclips and watch some tutorials.
