Glad you enjoyed DoA, Vaati! I've recently teamed up with some other modders for an even bigger DS1 project, which is looking super promising so far.
Details? Is Hot Pocket on the team?
I'm looking forward to it
I’m buying ds1 on the PC now, can’t wait to see the new mod
Oh yes, now this is some exciting news in these chaotic times!
@DickGirl because it's a passion project and heaps of people still play this game religiously. It doesn't matter if it's not a newer game, they're modding a game that they love and even if they won't get a ton of recognition (if that's what they are even after) in newer gaming communities, they will always be treasured in the dark souls community- a community they are a part of.
"Our first mod on the list: DS fix"
And arguably, it was the very first Dark Souls mod.
@@WingMaster562 For PC? There's a near-100% chance of that being true. When most modders were trying to draw up something low res enough to look good, DSfix happened within hours.

Lmao spot on. I was stunned too
He had a casual face reveal years ago, the entire comment section ignored the video content in favor of just repeating "oh no, he's hot"
I always just pictured he looked like one of those Aldia keep guys, like in that one DS2 cartoon
Now I just need a Dark Souls mod that makes Dark Souls Elden Ring so I can stop worrying about Elden Ring.

Vaati: Normally you go through the depths to get to blight town
Me, who always picks masyer key: lol, yeah, I've seen that content....for sure.
Lol I always do that.
I started playing dark souls remastered recently and even though I chose the master key again, I wanted to go through the game the normal way. Well, I forgot how to reach blighttown the normal way haha cant even find the sewer entrance. Ive done the normal one only once and probably on my first playthrough. I decided to just go through the valley of drakes. This is also the first time I skipped the whole beginning. Skipped the Taurus demon and just rang the bell then straight to the forest.
@@crazyape515 The 'proper' way is Burg - Taurus - Parish - Basement Key - Locked Tower at Dragon Bridge - Lower Burg - Capra - Depths - Gaping - Blight Town
@@mada1082 i went back and killed taurus and capra and i felt that the entrance was in that area but for some reason couldnt find the entrance to the depths. Must have missed the entrance. I thought it should be where all those torch wielding hollows were but there was just an item by a grate.
Oh now I remember, I chose the master key. That's why I entered Blight Town from Firelink
*Here's a Cinders mod fun fact*
Since every single weapon is infusable in this mod, if you infuse the Moonlight Greatsword with a Magic gem, something very cool will happen. Thank me later.

Every time I see the Iron Golem fall off the side, I remember the only time I knocked him off the platform. The game continued on for a minute without killing him, and I was confused. I started looking to see if he had slipped passed a death plane and lived the fall when the Iron Golem fell from the heavens and landed on top of me, pushing me off the ledge and killing me.
Ouch.....
"You have to traverse Blighttown backwards!"
*laughs in Master Key*
....I've only gone the right way through blghttown ONCE.
I think the master key doesn't work there or breaks or something?
@@Avrysatos if you know how to skip it you never not skip it
What he means is to reach the depths and the lower burg you must go up from blighttown. You could try to jump skip from the upper burg to the lower burg but the modder has put measures in to prevent you from doing so.
Master key players in vanilla cannot enter the depths from blight town. They would hit a dead end. That said they can still try.
@@ZoruaHunter
Unless you're doing an Iato build...i skipped blighttown so many times that going back there for that damn katana felt like reliving a long-forgotten PTSD.
I was delusional to think Elden Ring will release this year... Now I am just crestfallen.
I hope they cancel it for current gen consoles so they can focus on PC and next gen. Edit: In light of all of the great feedback on my comment I just wanted to add a couple of things. This game was probably coming out in fall or the holiday season seeing as we haven't gotten anything from Fromsoftware since their e3 trailer/announcement. Since we have to wait crazy long for it anyway they may as well release it at a 60 fps standard across all platforms and assuming that there's multiplayer, keep the playerbase to 3 platforms instead of 5. Whatever the case, I'm hoping we get Elden Ring by March 2021.

Uh. Definitely not for me. I’ve taken that route maybe 3 times total in my thousands of hours on the game. I always enter through the cave.
same. i usually do as little of blight town as possible. in through the back and straight to quelaag
Everyone does that but not on their first blind playthrough. The normal route is in fact through the depths
@@billystronk4251 unfortunately, you are right
@@billystronk4251 That's what I always do, then there is this door I can't open and I have to go all the way backward to the depths.
Fuck my life, I always do this mistake.
so you always pick master key?
Noticed some ppl mention they got banned using mods and accepting "gifts" from other players ingame. Here some tips for using mods and ingame politeness;
1. ALWAYS backup your save file before u start a gaming session. Prevents corruption of save file, being afflicted by cheats (items or otherwise) and other evil things. If u suspect u took something that is "funky" or with powers it should not have, immediately leave the game and replace the current save file with your backup.
This alone has saved my account many times while invading in DS3.
2. When using mods in from soft games 1st backup your save file, then make sure the game starts in offline mode. boot up the mod and play as u like.
If u ever want to go back online, again, backup your moded save file and replace it with the un-moded u backed up before and u can go online again without a problem.
3. I know it may sound awful but DO NOT accept "gifts" from players u don't know. Sounds cruel but it will prevent u picking up a "cracked" item by a hacker/modder (damn you, and bless you, Cheat Engine) and getting banned.
Unfortunately Souls games "remember" everything u have/had at any given time during a playthrough so ditching or deleting a hacked item won't work and u may still get banned, replacing the save file is the best way to prevent even the chance to get banned.
Now for the real purpose i had in mind. @VaatiVidya do u know My Name is Byf? I see u both as great Lore savants, although each to it's games, but i believe u both could do some great colabs on Lore Vids, whether Souls games or otherwise. Check him out on YT if u don't know him @VaatiVidya.
You... could also just pirate the shit out of the games and not have to worry about online at all.
i might be lucky, but ive used mods, cheat engine and trainers in all 3 games and have never been banned.
@@kodaxmax Know of others like you but also know it's best to be safe then sorry. I've been with a group of ppl stream snipping streamers invasions sometime back and Cheat Engine was best way to make a build quick, for sure, but even those that did do it did all the cheat offline and didn't mod items or other stuff i've seen around, some funny stuff other just unfair.
All in all those were just some tips for those that did got their acc banned.
@@vascomilheiro well i should point out i always put "modded" or "cheating" in my player name so online players can choose to avoid me, if they wish. Might be why nobody has manually reported me?
What if a player wants to gift me the cracked red eye orb?
A 'level editor' or 'dark souls maker' would be groundbreaking, and add even more infinite replayability to these games
it's called "unity".

You finally got to use that old “Dark Souls 3 Overpowered Early” artwork, Vaati!
Haha, amazed that you recognised it. You loyal
Funny thing about my blight town experience, when I first played DS I chose the Thief as my class because of the master key. So whenever I went to blight town, it was always backwards and it became my main way instead of the original way.
why even go up to the depths? at that point you don't even need to kill the gaping dragon since you just needed the key.
To get the dragon axe from gaping dragon’s tail, get the ember for Andre, and unlock the armor npc that sells boss armor (forgot his name)
same here :)
Here's my list of best mods for each game:
Dark Souls - Poorly Translated mod
Dark Souls 2 - Poorly Translated mod
Dark Souls 3 - Poorly Translated mod
My list looks just about the same
I'd like a mod or a patch or update for Bloodborne that makes the Chalice Dungeons real levels instead of the same bunch of hallways & walls & rooms. A bunch of fun bosses are locked behind identical rooms. It's a shame that everything ends up melding together in the Chalice Dungeons, making them bland
How awesome would it have been had the devs actually better fleshed out and snuck in some more of those oddball cut content monsters we saw unearthed in other videos on the subject?
better yet, delete the dungeons and put all the content in NG+ cycles.
Wish Bloodborne could get "DS FIX treatment ", higher resolution with steady 60fps, that would be by far the best possible mod for that game
instead of that i would like (in every single fromsoft soulslike game) an option at the end of your first playthrough to play any boss at any time. like in bloodborne you could have a gravestone that lets you choose any boss from the game to fight immediately, it loads you into the boss arena and bam. instant bosses. only unlockable after your first playthrough and you can only choose bosses you have already beaten.
6:37 so...it makes you *feel* like you're Dark Souls?
Dark Souls is my favorite character
He kills monster and doesn't afraid of anything
4:43 Those spells look amazing. I start every game as a battlemage.Hopefully same day From will dedicate as much attention to mage builds as to mellee builds.
I mean, there is soul stream and some other fancy spells.
I rather have everything balanced like in ds2
I need a DS mod where I can Save Artorias from be overtaken by the abyss or at least one when Sif, Artorias and me team up to beat that annoying primordial man
I've been playing Cinders and I can't recommend it enough. It's wonderful, and refreshing and under active development. (do not update mid game) It doesn't feel HARDER than DS3, just DIFFERENT. I never thought an archer would be possible but there I go killing lothric with a bow. PVE COVENANTS!
Daughters of Ash felt harder to me, so Cinders is my favorite of these mods.
Cinders has changed so radically over the course of a year that it bears almost no resemblance to its original self, or even its self from just a month ago. I think it’s finally going in it’s best direction yet now though. I commend the mod author so much for adding such a ridiculous amount of content to it and updating it so absurdly frequently.
@@jadenkarpoff9158 I am streaming 1.69 but awaiting the ironing out of the issues with companions and playing the latest one offline. Just between when I started trying it (1.67) and now so many things have been added.
You should have heard me when I jumped out of the way when testing the mod for streamability "it's the !@##!%! Pursuer! @#!$ my life!"
Looks like I might have to buy Dark Souls 3 for PC then. Gonna be my third purchase of the game.
@@schmecklin377 I have to say, the best reason to buy any game on pc over console is that we mod the crap out of anything we can manage to get our hands on.
0:52 First time Ive heared vaati swear.
What a weird feeling.
There needs to be a "Pet Sif" mod
"Sometimes you should read the ring descriptions before you remove them" 😂
Daughters of Ash is like becoming a masochist. You already had your ass kicked by vanilla ds1 and now you come to love it
Vaati: I want an tanky battle mage build
Elden Ring: Here is Enchanted Knight
The best mods are the randomizers. Enemy randomizier, item randomizer, everything is random. Combine that with the broken machine translation mods and you got yourself gold
@raime the fume knight Better yet, you're running trough the Catacombs of Carthus and you spot not one but TWO Oceiros and a bunch of Abyss Watchers
Or the Fog Gate + Item randomizer that Lobos did a few months back.
@@Fieldhouz Oh god i watched TearofGrace do the fog gate randomizier for DS1 it was chaos, complete and utter chaos

@@canaldecasta my manus was sif, very akward
I just now realize that I have never heard Vaati laugh before.
*Is nice.*
I just want a mod that actually adds capes to Dark Souls: Remastered, like the ones in Dark Souls 3. The fact that the Balder armor didn't have the cape was vomit-inducing since 3 was my first one in the trilogy
Mods are like if you could take your empty cake tray back to the bakery and get an entirely new cake for free.
The JoJo mod is all I need for my bizarre adventure through Lordran
"tanky mage build"
thats just dark souls 2 lol
Could you maybe make a sequel when ds archtrones and er garden of eyes come out in their full forms since they look really good from what they’ve shown from the mods
"Normally you would enter blightown from the depths" My first playthrough I came from darkroot forest > valley of the drakes, didn't know where the boss was, climbed all the way up the depths route, and found a locked door.
Wait. Are you telling me you don’t have to climb out of blight town in a normal play through?
Thats what i was thinkin lol I've never gone through the depths to blighttown always the other way
@@itskyyuuuu I first entered Blighttown via the Depths gate and got lost for hours. I never used that route again since.
From then on it was either Master Key or going down the elevator in the lower gargens that leads to Valley of the Drakes.
@@diegonei yup lol. I've literally never been to upper blighttown. Never opened the gate lol. So hopefully I'm not missing anything good besides the Iaito i have no idea haha

Vaati: Daughters of Ash is the best
InfernoPlus: “are you challenging me?”
I think DS3 Cinders mod understands one thing. That spell casting had not improved between Demon's souls and DS3.
It did in Sekiro when they added charges versions on the ninja prosthetic.
Now this is Dank Souls
I wonder how that "dark souls 2 with advanced graphics and realistic light" mod is going
I think the beginning of this video is the only DS2 footage I've ever seen on this channel
It hurts so much people forgets smaller but also impressive mods like PtDA (Prepare to Die Again for DS1)
Why is your voice so nice, like I thought you had effects or something for the lore videos but no your voice is just that nice.
This guy is the Dark Souls of youtubers
The guys who did the DS3 Cinder's mod just released a PvP oriented redo called Champion's Ashes. New weapons, you can now feint your attacks, jump attacks were edited. The list goes on but it seems really legit, thought it deserved a mention.
have been playing Cinders for quite a while, been there for most of the updates and it keeps getting better with every update. good stuff!
Companions are uhmm... a work in progress though.
Current update makes Sorcerer builds broken, allowing you to snap freeze and trivialize all bosses. Considering he made Frostbitten stop you from recovering stamina for a limited amount of time, therefore having enough MP and spamming snap freeze every once and a while while hitting the boss with a weapon that actually does damage makes them completely immobile and allows you to kill them without them even having a chance to get a single hit on you if you do it right.
I've always imagined Vaati with a luscious, glorious beard, and now I am ruined. Also, if you're going to stream more, it may be worth setting up a second channel for archives.
I once installed a mod for Dark Souls 2 for enhanced graphics and a darker-transluscent menu.
I got banned, so I had to purchase DS2:SOTFS.
I got gifted a +10 Bone Fist by a random player at the Iron Bridge.
Me thinking this was something they've changed in the SOTFS I kept it and used it.
I got banned again.
So I'm scared of using mods on my account now, thank you Dark Souls...
Isn't it obvious that using mods in a multiplayer game causes bans? Just go into offline mode.
@@promant6458 Well excuse my 17 year old self for not knowing enough about multiplayer gaming protocols, at the time I had no idea such minor changes could result in a soft-ban because I've been modding multiplayer games for a long time, how the hell was I supposed to know that *that* particular game was different? It's not like I changed Soulmemory or spawned myself items.
@@SaikoX95 I would say that games which *do* allow mods in multiplayer are different.
ive used, trainers, cheat engine and mods in all 3 games and never been banned. I swear they must just ban people randomly.
@@promant6458 Mods that change graphics and don't give you an unfair advantage shouldn't be a bannable offense in any game. How is a small, victimless change to UI enough to justify a ban? Punishing players for that is just silly. If I change a texture on the elite knight helmet to be a smiley face, why the hell is that bannable? Considering how wonky matchmaking is in the first place, that just tips the scales even further towards actual cheaters who still evade punishment.
There are two Ds3 mods I saw on Twitter that are in development that look insanely cool. One is called the convergence mod which adds fully unique bosses that genuinely look official, and another one is called Blades of Ashina which is quite similar to the Cinders mod which adds weapons from Sekiro and other games which also looks official and feels insanely polished.
I really liked the golem that’s also in the moonlight butterfly fight; it feels like how old games used to be
Daughter's of Ash is an example of a mod that I think is amazing on a technical level, but horrible on a game level. It seems to reimagine all of the lore of DS as "what I wanted DS lore to be" instead of "More of what DS lore already is". The map went from intricately connected and detailed, to horrifically messy and chaotic with little sense of direction, and the placement of many enemies and items had the same treatment, going from well thought out to being almost randomly placed around.
The mod is extremely detailed, but it absolutely a massive step down from the original game, and I will happily take the classic DS experience over it any day of the week.
you play these when you have playex the original game so much it becomes boring, a breath of fresh air, i doubt the creator thinks its anyways close to being better than the original game
I stopped playing after a few hours did not enjoy my time with Daughters of Ash, especially the lore I felt was overly dramatic bordering on teenage angst edgy at times, the horrible balancing of weapons and enemies didnt help
If i have to go read a forum post or wiki to play through a game naturally, it's usually not a good game.
Daughters of ash, succeeded more so in gameplay (more so with bosses) than in lore...it made rubbish bosses like the 4 kings a phenomenal fight.
Don't forget the terribly obscure side quests like the four statues that give the player no hints whatsoever aside from searching them up on the wiki.
I specifically love how I had to go back to Undead Asylum to drop the Pendant to the crows so I can get the Broken Pendant to access the DLC (which is the only way to get the Covenant of Artorias Ring) so I can kill 4 Kings, and beat the game. I had no fucking clue I had to trade with the crows and would of probably never figured it out if I hadn't looked it up.
P.S. The guy can't mix audio to save his life. The fight with Jar-Eel and Corrupted Artorias, or whatever his name was gave me ear cancer.
Dark souls: Prepare to get soft banned
4:20 Something I've wanted for years is to explore the potential of customization DS NPCs,just change their equipment and you have a new enemy type, and it's finally happening!
The crab claw WA is unique in terms of animation, but it's basically the flame hammer WA, just with water.
Only a sugestion:
(If possible) Make a kind of lore series about the expanded universe from Daughters of Ash.
Dark Souls has to be one of the most influential games of the past decade. That's why I don't I understand why Solaire isn't in Smash Bros.
because nintendo is a different kind of evil.
They gave him out as an amiibo. There’s literally no excuse
4:39 OMG I want soul geyser back so bad. It was my favourite spell of Dark Souls 2. And it was op before it was nerfed. I took about 90% of the Giant Lord health with just one single cast.
I always used the shortbow as a main weapon!
And I'm finally almost finished with DS1, after a few years of spending hours every time I wanted to kill anything.
I’m gonna be honest here. Daughters Of Ash was impressive on a technical level. The crazy amount of effort that went into it is baffling. But on a gameplay and story level, it’s total garbage.
Things are harder for the sake of being harder, and not in a fun way. The new “lore” is laughable. The biggest new storyline everyone wanted to play is hidden behind the dumbest, most obtuse requirements, to the point where the creator basically had to sit in Lobos’ stream and basically just tell him what to do and later release a full guide. Not to mention that the new “lore” he added was fanfiction levels of bad and so much lore and area names seemed changed just for the sake of being changed.
If it was just a mod for modding’s sake that would be fine. It’s a decent mod in those regards. But the creator has the absolute audacity to refer to it as what he thought was “the game From would have made if they had a bit more time.” Like lmao what? How freaking arrogant. What a joke.
there doesn't need to be a best
5:03 that would make mages, in invasions, even worse. i think they should have done it like in demon' s souls. 2 items that replenish mana(one does a little and the other double or triple), but you can only carry 5 of each.
5:55 no need to exaggerate it into oblivion
8:48 you could just upload your recorded stream on your twitch channel
NO WAY i just told myself if Vaati did a dark souls mod video that would be the best thing ever
and here it is
Bloodborne:why won't you die!
Dark souls: mods son, they keep me alive from obscurity.

No. GO THROUGH IT BACKWARDS INSTEAD
@@VaatiVidya damn, I really need to Get Gud...
It's called "taking the Master key"
Learning a glitch just seems kinda unnecessary when you can just run past everything in like 20 seconds anyway
Are there stream vods? (please say yes).

Farron Keep swamp no longer slows you down
At the end of video when its big wolf fight time but Artorias zoops your ass for trying to kill his pupper
Doom
I watched along with some of your playthroughs on Twitch, I don't know where your infinite patience and troll immunity comes from. The entire time chat was cancerous and abusive, and mostly not in a good natured way. I've heard for years about how welcoming and positive the Souls community is yet I've rarely encountered any evidence of it. The mods do look very intense and interesting though, may actually try one of them out now.
Daughters of Ash added more of those delightful Toxic blow dart enemies into Blighttown as well, also I like thed troll of the Master Key in that it actually broke permanently if you used it once, and anyone who played the mod would know what they did with Capra Demon.
ive found hands down, the most entertaining mod for me is being able to play as the bosses. JRPG's ALWAYS program and animate bosses with way more substance than the character we play as for 100+ hours.
DS character -> dodge roll and a 2 swing combo.
DS Boss -> 3 different 7-hit interchangeable combos with 3 different dodge anim sets and magical particle effects going off simultaneously.
You know the rules everyone, First the worst...
Someone please make an Elden Ring mod, before it gets delayed due to the Corona Virus.
Going through blighttown in reverse order WAS my first blind playthrough. Picked the master key as a starter and failed to find the sewers. Instead I found blight town, worked my way up and.. found a locked door.
dude your voice explaining anything just makes me interested, its like you're always narrating a story. keep it up man
These mods all see to have been made by fans of Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First sin. In particular the brutally unfair level design, what with ganks and gank bosses literally everywhere. The difficulty rarely felt satisfying. It was just a chore.
I wonder if the "lol dark souls the game where you die and you die" has ever negatively impacted the development of these games and mods...? /s
Is it really THAT hard to understand that the draw of Soulsborne is overcoming a difficult but fair challenge, and not to get killed over and over by blatantly bad design? In other words, that the series is about VICTORY ACHIEVED despite circumstances, not about YOU DIED at all costs?
@@sauro8299 Exactly. Perhaps some people were attracted by the 'lol brutal challenge' marketing, and then proceeded to make mods that don't really improve the level design, but make the game much, much harder.
I don't know about you, but the reason I loved dark souls or bloodborne was the level and world design above all else. The difficulty was fair. Much more difficult and I would not have even played.
But these mods seem to have been made for junkies for high difficulty. Its like nah thats not what I came for, and I can't stand unfair gank bosses.
@@sauro8299 well the devs did call it "prepare to die edition" and the lead designer was quoted many times for laughing at testers and press when they were killed playing early versions. So yeah it's not surprising people think advertisement for the game represents the game.
Prod is that you?
no
Convergence mod for DS3 is awesome, I just started playing it a few days ago and it’s insane, better than any other mods I’ve played
In my first playthrough of Dark Souls I had the Master Key and ended up going all the way through Blighttown backwards, only to find the door locked at the end and then had to go all the way back down. It was... an experience lol
Ha ha I did the same damn thing. Experience for sure.
"Best of the three Souls games"
So you admit that Dark Souls 3 is actually a Bloodborne Sequel?
Otherwise, there would be four Souls games.
But Bloodborn is not a souls game
@@zaishijunior9455
The Dark Souls trilogy and Demon's Souls make four.
So, saying DkS3 actually is a Bloodborne sequel would reduce the number to his mentioned "three Souls games".
ho hey i'm real early for once nice seeing you upload
I did a warmage build that used miracles, sorceries, and pyromancies. I also have the dark hand. The spells i used the most was definitely farron flashsword and combustion. The two spells can combo into each other
my only problem with cinders so far is the added spells feel really same-y between schools. They all have rapid cast spells, fast long range spells, spells that summon other projectiles, etc. Its much more powerful but I feel like the identity of the different spell schools was lost with how they approached buffing magic
Man, Cinders Mod really adds a lot of cool Weapons and QoL ideas, and being able to fight bosses again is awesome,
but it fucks up the game balance so badly that I never ended up doing a second run. Spells are ridiculously overpowered, your Inventory is flooded with Weapons that you'll never use because they all have the same Moveset anyways, and none of the battlestaves can actually be used as catalysts.
While I understand why one would want regenerating mana (more fun for sure), I will have to disagree: in fact I think limited spell uses were the better system for a game like Dark Souls, as it forces you to strategize and ration your resources bonfire to bonfire instead of just chugging a potion or waiting for mana to refill.
The music that starts at 7:03 is everything
Do you know the name of the song?
Watching these vods, you may find yourself wading through sarcasm as pungent and viscous as the Great Swamp itself.
I'm currently enjoying the fog gate randomizer for DS3, you never know where you'll end up and often have to find new ways of moving through zones. As levels get randomized so does gear progression so you end up using different weapons than in regular playthroughs.
Walking through the alley, up from where you are actually supposed to fight Capra Demon, and turning the corner only to see him standing up the road with the music kicking in perfectly was fucking awesome.
I entirely missed where Melentia was hiding, so I had to beat Ruin Sentinels with a +0 Morningstar to get to McDuff, then had to make do with the found lifegems all the way to the end xD
You know whats scary about that sif boss fight, sif jumps and suddenly artorias ran towards you
