Now retired, I have a business degree and spent over 40 years in senior positions in the international corporate world and financial services industry. In my view this FFP (Farcical Football Poppycock) is utter nonsense!! Without going into technical details, investment decisions in any business are far more complicated than these ridiculous ‘ham- fisted’ kindergarten level rules being imposed by the Premier League. OK - we all get emotional about football, so let’s look at a broader perspective. In a free market economy, I cannot believe that an industry cartel could enact artificial regulations to protect their own dominant positions in that specific industry, at the expense of new entrants (or “noisy neighbours”) to that industry!! I also cannot believe that if this issue ever went to court, that these ridiculous rules would be upheld in a court of law. The precedent this would set and the potential disruption this would cause to the economy as a whole beggars belief!! If they persist with this absolute nonsense, I foresee constant litigation by all affected clubs and a general chaos in the administration of trophies and relegation places. Remember the legal process could spread over several seasons!!

@FunkyMonk6 It's soort of obvious they will be treated differently. It's an historic case of rule breaking, dating back to before the new rules cameinton force, and cover a massive time gap, where Everton and Forest and being measured under the new PSR rules, covering the last reporting period.
@FunkyMonk6 Yeah...that's what I was explaining. These PSR sanctions are the result of a standard audit of all clubs by the EPL. City are being investigated for years of systemic rule breaches across numerous reporting periods, along with failures to provide the appropriate documents when asked for them, and have fought the process at every turn while arguing "This isn't fair, we've done everythihng we can to help the process" The PSR sanctions are handed out by EPL adjudicators, and the City mess is being delved into by an external panel of lawyers who are having to deal with over a hundred individual cases of alleged breaches of the rules. The main reason the City cases haven't come up yet is largely down to the appeals they keep filing and I'm sure when they are found guilty, they will have years of appeals lined up to delay the outcome even further. Eventually they will probably find an adjudicator whose kid needs a rare and expensive medical treatment or operation... at which point they'll be fine and it will all go away.
I don't see why they can't separate some of these charges and charge them with ffp violations immediately, just like they have with Everton and Forest.
The Shifty 6 (including City) were happy to stick it to the PL with the Super League and got fined a pittance. Which was a greater threat to football? Also spending rules were about stopping teams buying loads of players to buy League positions - not to fund a new stadium. How many other clubs at present are paying for a new stadium. West Ham were literally gifted theirs! So were City.
The EPL know full well that Citeh will take their ball home and form a super league with other Middle Eastern owned clubs and anyone else who wants to join in. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Saudi League clubs and a good few of our current "top" EPL clubs will have their snouts in the trough too. Fantasy Football for the super rich here we come. If man city are found guilty, are they going to retroactively apply the points deductions so that teams like Liverpool can be awarded the multiple titles they lost during that period? It should happen, but somehow I doubt it.
Why can't it happen? Melbourne Storm in Australian Rugby League have been stripped of titles. City has been blatantly cheating for a long time and continue to cheat and be allowed to get away with it. The EPL does not need to City nor their wheelings and dealings.
Their needs to be a clause stating they cant simply pay their way out of this, only a massive points deduction or relegation is good enough, they have unlimited cash, fines arent good enough especially when everton already lost points for their problems
Relegation to championship, ban on transfer windows for 3 years and stripped of all titles over those years. I think that would be a great punishment. (Most players will want to leave and they will not be able to sign new players apart from their own academy and when they can sign players it will all have to comply with FFP so the rebuild will be slow)
@@SeanSKZRelegation down to Vanarama for me. A clause that they can’t buy their way out like OP suggested and an assurance that they fix their accounting.
Or, if they want to pay their way, it has to count towards the clubs financial accounting. This would mean a very heavy fine would in fact put them in a difficult financial situation where they would likely have to start selling stars, and their financial abilities would be more like a Championship side for a number of years due to having to comply with FFP and PSL.
What I really struggle with is why are city charged for alleged breaches? It should be black and white, you've breached it, and this is your penalty. End off, case closed. That's how UEFA do it. It's not a criminal case. Why are we going for hearings, judges, etc...this could take years, and any punishment will not be fitting of the crime at this point. They've already won all there is to win. Losing titles in court does the sport no good as a whole. Sad state for the PL.

Really annoys me why people label City negatively. Like before these rule were in place what the hell do you think people did? Like Blackburn or Newcastle or United? Also if City had even one of these charges without a question mark on it do you not think that would have acted. The reason its taking so long is because they do not have the evidence to do anything, and are taking so long because they are trying to find something. As he said these rule were brought in after Pompey in 2013, so calling City cheats or what ever take a look deep in your own club and their history. Not being funny, if you look at what United spent over the years and count for inflation they spent way more than City, it is just down to the amounts clubs now spend. Get a grip and just wait and see what happens, until then may be leave the keyboard warriors stuff alone.
It's taking so long because there are so many! And that they are not straight forward because city have complicated things instead of admitting like other clubs did
All the clubs you named (except city) could clafify where their money came from without falsifying it. When you have a 'sponsor' whose CEO picture is a stock picture of a model you can cut and paste from the internet, then you know your club is falsifying records!

They don't want to give the proposed date for the Man City hearing, because it may be put back to a later date, if either prosecution or defence are not ready. And you can bet anything that Man City's defence team will be doing everything they can to prolong the process for as long as possible, just like they have been doing all along.

Its not fair for Everton they are a real TEAM FIGHTER LOOK WHERE THEY ARE IN THE LEAGUE WHAT IF THEY DIDN'T LOSE THOSE POINT THEY WILL B UP IN THE TOP 7

City being treated differently and they wont even tell us when. Not exactly clear and open is it!
City are being investigated for years of systemic rule breaches across numerous reporting periods, along with failures to provide the appropriate documents when asked for them, and have fought the process at every turn while arguing "This isn't fair, we've done everythihng we can to help the process"
The PSR sanctions are handed out by EPL adjudicators, and the City mess is being delved into by an external panel of lawyers who are having to deal with over a hundred individual cases of alleged breaches of the rules.
I think alot of people forget west ham were gifted a £500m Olympic stadium.

So because City’s charges were “a long time ago” as the reporter said, that means it’s okay to brush those charges to the side & target/attack the “smaller clubs” in the league 🤷🏻♂️
Surely, if something has been left unresolved for “a long time”… that should be the main priority to get sorted? 🤷🏻♂️
I just cannot imagine how different things would be if this situation was reversed…
For example, if Everton were the ones with 115 breaches & City had only a couple 🤷🏻♂️
The handling of the situation would be the exact same… Everton would have the hammer come down on them, whereas City would be brushed to the side…
But what makes the situation so much worse is the fact that City are intact the ones with the 115 breaches… 🤷🏻♂️🤯
Just imagine outside of football…
In normal everyday life… if you had 2 criminals, one of which had committed one crime & the other 115
You really think law enforcement would be “the 115 crimes were a long time ago so let’s deal with this other guy first & at some point in the future, we will catch or put this guy with 115 charges on trial”
