I remember when $500 was considered a huge gamble for the cup. $1400 is absolutely bonkers.
Wasn't year 1 of the cup in 06 $365 or somewhere close?

@@redred222 Yeah, I have seen those prices but those cards are also worth more too. Also Upper Deck using sticker autos in The Cup while doubling the price for the product is nothing short of a rip off!
Upper Deck is just taking money away from flippers. You can’t blame them. You can blame the low IQ simp flippers for the price increases.

@@bryankahtava3174 The other issue is that when the last Cup came out, you and I both had the chance to buy a tin of the Cup for $650-$800. Now this years Cup was preselling for $1250, the flippers didn't do that. Now we have to pay double right off the bat for this product, with sticker autos included. No thanks Upper Deck!

I'm not a Rangers' fan, so it don't matter to moi.
3 things......1- I would never pay that price for the cup. Some of the quality control I've seen in breaks so far is really bad chipping on these cards and there's no excuse for that especially at that price. 2. Upper Deck is slowly morphing into PANINI in terms of pricing their products recently (overpriced items that were normal priced before the pandemic-and stop using the pandemic as an excuse to justify pricing PANINI). 3. I've worked in the drug and alcohol field for over 10 years and there literally needs to be a sports cards anonymous support group like NA/AA because I have seen people waste just as much money on high end junk like this while basically chasing that same similar high as gambling/drugs imo. Collecting and having a hobby is one thing but please remember to do it responsibly in terms of finances. Another fun video from Zeeree....thanks for sharing.

I've opened only one box of The Cup... a 2015-16 box. The LCS got only one 3 box case and someone opened 2 and got nothing big. I remember saving up the 700 USD for it and finally getting it in 2017. It was the most nervous I ever was opening anything. After the common RPA, I saw a gold rookie signature for the Oilers as the third card... of Anton Slepyshev. I truly thought I was going to have a heart attack if it was Connor Mcdavid. The last card was actually the case hit: a 2014-15 Emblems of Endorsement Nathan Mackinnon. All and all I was happy but man, if only the 3rd card was you know who
There are actually quite a few sticker auto's...including Kappy :( ...SPA looks even better now :)
That was a brutal box, maybe UD put the decimal in the wrong place and they meant $140.
If you. think that was brutal you should watch some more breaks. That Laf card is worth at least US$500.

Thanks Zee love your channel. It's crazy the prices my gawd.. you can see on ebay today one person wanting 200 for a card and the same kinda card for the same player is like 10.99.. I feel bad for the gamblers as you can see the 200 dollar sellers trying to recoup their costs from every card which will never happen.

Kirill Kaprizov's Cup RPA is not oncard. Instead it is a rookie sticker autograph patch. I'm happy for my Kirill FWAP and FWA for my personal collection.

I was looking at import yeti to see where UD was sourcing products and noticed they were using a random Italian printer for cards.
Thank for the video. Just getting back into collecting, trying to get my boy outta pokemon since they're ridiculously priced and it's so hard to hit anything. We both love hockey so I've ordered a few 21-22 series 2 Hobby box.

The problem is that I find is upper deck will not lower the prices if people keep buying it like crazy, if sales would have slowed down I'm sure they would be lower , but the spike during covid was absolutely ridiculous and now with the inflation of these products it really kind of pushes some people out of the hobby that were in to it for years, this coming from a guy myself that has opened up the cup since 05-06
go look up the topps baseball high end boxes 5k for 10 cards

2021-22 series 1 and 2 hobby is $74 now...cheaper than when it came out...
@@KingKuba1313 and how much do you think that the next series 1will be? Because I'm guessing it's going to be anywhere between $170 to $200 guaranteed and probably because of just one player alone kind of ridiculous when you think about it
@@KingKuba1313 and of course series 1 and series 2 of 2021/2022 it's going to be cheaper Trevor zegras is having a subpar season , you're not hearing too much about Lucas Raymond, Cole caufield is injured, and more Moritz Seder is also not to much up to par , it seems that the cards are based like a stock market for hockey if the players don't thrive and hockey the card sales don't go up from their rookies and if they're playing good keeping up with their statistics then the series 1 series to that you speak of would still be over $100.00 , so that could be one of the reasons why it's $75

You used to shake more when opening Cup tins. :) The Cup remains a beauty, but this price is absurd.
That McDavid moment is priceless. Can see Zeeree trying to contain himself! Its a moment we dream about. These high priced sets have to much of a slot machine feel to it. Especially if you try Epacks that although do not have all the sets available they certainly have a slot machine feel when you open physical or epacks.
Laffy on a team loaded with stars so hard to breakout when everyone else getting touches. He’s come up clutch in a couple plays.

Dealing with actual game worn jerseys sadly for 1400 those rookie cards im 99 percent sure that is not actual game worn jersey material. Sadly when UD posted the previews of this product that was the case for all cards I saw. Some non rookie players have the real stuff but not for rookies. The Blues card i have zero clue what the hell that patch is from.
New to this... Do these products sell out every year or can I wait a year and hope to catch one on clearance?

Pretty good cards, I’m not sure if you broke even or did better…but 1400$ for 6 cards is insane! Atleast for myself I would rather buy an inner case of artifacts and enjoy ripping as I did…ripping them tmrw night with my kids.
