I went to school with Colbert, and he's been singing from Reception class. He used to sing "Sugar" and then started singing Elvis songs. Great to see him doing what he loves, and it's in his soul.
@@robertm.-certifieddaytrade4939 I never felt that way viewing Elvis though ! Makes sense I dunno why but ELVIS liked women sexually and had a huge appetite for female genitalia. But I couldn't vouch for the tribute Elvis impersonator,as the video clip didn't have a story line ,rather just his movements n audio,!
I think there was really a black Elvis before that real Elvis existed and that person was a great example for Elvis. I once saw a documentary about this. If it hadn't been for that person, there wouldn't have been Elvis. Now the question is what is true?
@@TheartistDevilRob incorrect. Elvis took some of his style from black music but Elvis style was unique to him and him alone. That’s why he was the first musical artist to have such a drastic effect on the World the minute he was exposed to it, nobody before or after Elvis did that in such a way
@@TheartistDevilRob Surely, Elvis was influenced by various entertainers , as the great Clyde McPhatter, which helped Elvis evolve to his unique artistic persona . Cheers to Elvis ! 🤙🏽.

There is an Elvis Presley in each one of us. Japanese, African, Hispanic, Caucasian - all of us can have an Elvis Presley in each one of us. It's now or never... come hold me tight...........................
He does a good job on this version. I grew up listening to Ral Donner and his version back in '61. The 45 is on the Gone label 5102 and I never get tired of him singing this song and his other great hits of that time.
I am pretty sure Ral Donner's version was the original..I the early 60s we use to play/sing Ral Donners "You Dont Know What You've Got" .. always went down well.. This guy is pretty good
@@goneoverboard2900 The original was by Charlie Blackwell in 1959. Elvis then covered it for his first post-army album in 1960 and Ral Donner put it out as a single because Elvis' version was never released on a 45 (apart from in Europe). Many people believe that Ral Donner's was the original because it was the first charted version of the song in the US. Fabulous and Elvis' version too!!! So very happy Elvis helped to popularize this originally R hythm and Blues/ soft rock , originally " Black" music for ALL!!
Excellent! And about time! This is SO cool - a cultural race reversal wherein a black artist does a great version of Elvis Presley's hits! Colbert Hamilton has a beautiful voice, and i love his musical mannerisms. Keep singing Colbert - you are making new fans.

Imagine a white guy impersonating Sam Cooke. The woke uproar 😮
How would the essence of Sam's songs change if the boy had the same voice and talent? anything
he does not sound like Elvis…..but he doesnt need to sound like Elvis got he got a greaaaaaaaaat voice ❤
Let me tell you something. His attempt at Elvis voice, the feeling and authenticity is unbelievable. In fact he puts most Elvis Impersonators to shame
