Description- I am looking at choosing a main LPG to use in my travel case and I really like both of these...which do you think sounds better?
Keep in mind this is through the specific lens of improvised live techno with manual tweaking. You should make your own choice based on your use case if you have to choose after hearing both in person in your own case.

Working on a new live set concept incorporating acapellas and scratching. All of the music comes from the modular rig and just the vocals from the Denon SC5000m.

I am an LPG addict, I think.
I have Boing!, Sinc Bucina, AI Synthesis LPG, the QMMG, and a Tidbit passive LPG. I always wanted to try out the NG but it's been sold exclusively at scalper prices for the last few years. I don't assert it is not worth $700 but I don't think I would part with that much for it. The QMMG was not cheap so maybe I am just drawing an arbitrary line in the sand. I love a good compare video regardless.

I was in the Control Voltage oversold crown on the QMMG...really disappointing cause I wanted to try it out. That being said I really liked Natural Gate. I would just jump on the pre-order and wait it out...it's great, but overpaying for it isn't worth it I think. I wonder how the Thomas White LPGs are.

@@ObscureMachines I had not heard about that happening at Control Voltage. I am sorry to hear that happened to you. I can add your story to the 20 other disastrous experiences I have heard. I know they didn't try to make people angry but that QMMG release enraged many. There are a few videos of the various Thomas White LPGs and a few seem like it is solid. A few I cannot tell what is happening in them. The DIY kit for his quad LPG is $259 I think. That is nice!

FYI, NG isn’t outputting a click when no input is connected. It is in EG mode and is outputting its generated envelope.

I have a Sinc Bucina and its great and all but the Natural Gate just sounds so fucking good every time. I cant bring myself to shell out the cash for one though, especially when the Sinc Bucina is less than 1/4 of the price.

    @brennanfowlerib Год назад +2

Natural Gate wins it for me it’s got more umph. Bucina definitely more harmonic sounding but NG fits better in the mix. I will agree Bucina sounds more techno in that context though.

great video, i have the sinc bucina and love it but i was definitely impressed with the natural gate. I would highly recommend modulating the gate level going into the sinc bucina it makes it sound very dynamic

What sort of gate modulation did you like the most? I'll try it out. Always looking for more from Sinc Bucina. Not because it offers too little, I just like the sonic territories it lurks in a lot.

@@The_Invisible_Hand_Of_CV I just put the gates through a vca before going into the Sinc Bucina, I’ve used another gate sequence to basically be accents which is nice but now I’m using the voltage block to be able to dial in per step how much to open up the lpg, sounds great but the range is not as much as you would hope (goes silent bellow like 2.5V)

@@varial303 Thank you! imma moduate it ASAP. I mess with sequencer gate lengths but I forgot all about trying it with Sinc Bucina.

    Hello Tom,
    thanks for the comparison.
I am very pleased that you have found your way back.
    Small but nice.
As I told you before, in a techno context, the sinc bucina is the crunchier of the two and that's what's important for me
For more down below, you have the Jomox Modbase 09.
Let them unfold freely, and if you want to put one on top, listen to the Jomox Alpha Base, what i have which puts this on top.
I'd still love to hear what you do with the Complex OSC.
