It's my guess that Mattel is going to closely watch sales figures on this and other silver logo-tier sets in 2024, so vote with your dollars if you want to see metal base cars at this less than full premium price point!! Good hunting!
Full tampos AND plastic wheels for the track?! YES PLEASE! Some people will complain that these are not rubber tires- but the guys who complain put them on display and they never get played with. The new plastic wheels look fantastic on this set and make the cars work on orange track, so these look good AND are functional! WAY BETTER than rubber tires that just sit on display!
Skyline and Starlet are the stars of the set for sure. The wheels on the crx are 🤮 thought they were also doing all metal bases on these and only two have them? Overall cool looking set 👍🏻
😍 yes it goes very well with a similar GT-R R(34) in red and racing deco from some years back!! Nice details including the oil cooler in front, that alone got my attention quickly

The accura sx is a great car with a nice livery. The casting is questionable though. The front splitter looks toy like, compromised to make it good on the track.

Starlet + Hakosuka > CR-X > NSX > Cosmo NSX got a minus because it has weird base (blue color? seriously?) If it were black I'd rate it as good as CR-X (because it has different mold with usual basic NS-X, rare) Cosmo looks like way too basic. Starlet is definitely the star of the set. It looks like Real Riders with plastic wheels.
A fair take, since the price is higher than mainlines. Mattel had been stumbling on the details in other themed assortments back in 2021, 2022, and that really hurt the value of those sets IMO. Is it the lack of Real Riders that puts you off, I'm interested to know.

After the hot wagons had metal bases, I was really looking forward to all of these having metal bases. They would be so much better.

According to Lamley, car #6 most probably a chase car. I have open 4 boxes - Porsche set & Vintage racing. None have car #6
