First season I hated Steve. He was a douchebag and I didn't ship Steve and Nancy at all. I was rooting for her and Jonathan but then season two changed everything. We had this whole new facet at Steve's character. He'd changed for love, for Nancy. He left his friends, he left the popular crowd, he lost his "king" crown, all for Nancy. You could tell he really loved her. I felt so bad for him when he told Nancy that it was okay for her to go with Jonathan. That look in his eyes was heartbreaking. He so didn't deserve that. When I ship Nancy with Steve, I feel really bad for Jonathan and when I ship Nancy with Jonathan, I feel really bad for Steve. I JUST CAN'T FUCKING BEAR IT LIKE DAMN IT, I'M SO OVERWHELMED. THIS IS TOYING WITH MY EMOTIONS
i have watched this SO many times, i almost have it memorized. incredible use of parallels and voiceovers, the latter of which never overwhelmed the song like so many do. this is so beautiful and sad.
I just want to say something to appreciate the fact how good of an actors these people are making it look so real to the point where you look at them and feel saddness for them in these situations. Good acting.
