I remember 2001 summer vacation when Gadar and Lagan released together. I was at my grandparent's and I remember how all of us cousins went to watch Gadar and Lagan. Both movies were a massive hit. And among these two huge big budget movies, Anubhav Sinha's Tum Bin released just after a month. And despite being a small budget film with 4 newcomers and getting competition from Lagan and Gadar, Tum Bin was a hit movie. I am one of those who gets nostalgic about childhood memories but I also realize that sensibilities have changed completely. I don't know if 90's and early 2000's style of filmmaking would actually work in 2023. That's why I am critical of Karan Johar's RARKPK, Govinda still doing weird 90's style music videos and Salman Khan doing films like KKBKKJ. Cashing on nostalgia won't work if the story and dialogues aren't strong. Gadar 2 looks like Sunny Deol doing fan service. And we never know with audiences these days, if movies like Pathaan is earning Rs.1000 crore toh kuch bhi mumkin hai 🤷♀️
Wdym movies like pathaan? Pathaan was advertised as an action film and gave the audiences exactly that. People going in expecting something revolutionary are the ones at fault here.
You can't even bear pathan for more than 10 minutes..Either you ll fall asleep or close the movie..Fake Collection Fake bookings Fake promotion through sold media just to build a false narrative that movie is doing good and thereby increasing the curiosity among normal public that movie is good but once they watch it they have only called it a wahiyaat bakwas movie... Bollywood collections are fake ..Big stars already make crores through ad so spending 60 crores on fake bookings is nothing new to them...just seeing 60 crore collections normal public go to watch the movies in numbers thereby their collection automatically rise up...Fuck this bollywood shitty actors directors...Now Karan johar will book 10 crore fake collection on day 1 and then their chaplus reviewers give it 3.5 star and then make it look like movie is doing good but general audience would not fall to this trick in future if they repeat same drama over and over again like pathan next karsn johar

It didn't deserve 1000 crore collection and I am saying it as a once die hard fan of SRK. The action, VFX, story all were awful. To be very honest, my first thought about Gadar 2 was Anil Sharma is making an unnecessary sequel to launch his son. But after learning it's based on true story, I'm optimistic about it's performance

Anil Sharma is a fairly mediocre director who hit just one jackpot with Gadar. This is yet another typical case of a middling director milking the high-valued IP of Gadar for the relaunch of his son. After his flopped launch in 2018, the whole marketing revolves around the return of Sunny Paaji, but I'm 100% sure that the entire plot will actually revolve around his son. The audience just needs to understand that this movie is intended solely to relaunch Utkarsh Sharma as the next patriotic hero, riding the nationalism wave-something similar to what Akki and John did in the last five years.
