Gadar 1 was a mass film as well but there were some scenes which were haunting (like the train scene with Tara Singh's family and when Sakina was separated from her family). The characters had a backstory which was impactful. The illogical action of that film was at least tolerable because the story was good. The makers just wanted to make a cash cow out of nostalgia and produced a hot mess.

What a shame!
The team behind this movie knew exactly the audience who will watch this, what they want to see and these guys stuck to it to the point. They didn't deviate at all from the sentiment, they deliberately made a loud, cringe , physics defiance movie because thet knew their audience will love it. You won't believe the craze i saw in pvr at the late night show, people went crazy for dialogue and tara singh. It was a experience honestly. I liked the community experience more than the movie😅
exactly, this is what I wanted to say and was looking for. There are people out there who enjoy this kind of content and it's totally fine they're not brain dead or stupid they just enjoy this over the top action and those are the people whom the makers target.

Shan bhai the fact is that Sunny Deol came after a long time and that too with a sequel to his last block buster Gaddar. So people are eager to see him again on big screen. 135 crore ka Box office collection 3 din mein hua hai. This is amazing considering abhi jaise movies sirf lakh ka hi business box office par kar paa rahi hain. Haan agar yahi Sunny deol aage issi tarah ki movies dega to shayad wohi haal hoga jo Salman Khan aur Akshay Kumar ka hua hai. Junta donot like Too much of same thing…this is proven fact. Even Amitabh Bachchan was called out negatively when he made his come back with Mrityudaata, but the fact is that even Mrityudata did 173 million rupees of collection at box office at that time and the movie on books was a smash hit. So people and critics will say whatever they have to say, but the common junta who is not a critic but a star lover…they will make Gadar a super hit movie of year 2023.

The director had 20 years time to think of a good story. They could have focused on the political part of 1971 , pakistan and bangladesh. But Director was only concerned with rozgar yojana for his son.

Exactly! Both are ridiculous...but he praised Pathaan and trashed Gadar 2! Same thing is done by Jammy (Tried and Refused Productions). I mean it reflects sheer hypocrisy on both parts. Shan is someone I trust the most in YT community and he disappointed me with his Pathaan review.

In this case, both Shan and Jammy are probably huge fans of SRK, which is fine, but while reviewing a movie they must keep in mind that SRK does a lot of overacting in action films, take don 2 for example. Similarly Roasting Salman or Sunny for the same thing is hypocritical.

Didn’t like the movie. But let me tell you why the movie is making money. My grandmother , parents everyone watched a movie together after months. They liked the movie. My help who come to our house, she went for the movie with her family they loved it. Shopkeeper near ur house, barber , drivers , veg table vendors , security guards. All of them are going and seeing the movie and loving it. Maybe all of them are going to the theatres after ages. That’s why the movie is a HIT. And yes it’s an EMOTION. But you just criticised the movie 👏 Ask your mother and father, will they like Mission impossible or Gadar, you will get the point. Don’t insult people who are going to the theatre watching the movie, just because you didn’t like it. Bro watch Netflix. And chill.

I know action was over the top and illogical but story ,music and performances were good. Even Utkarsh did well. साथ ही भाई सिनेमाघर मे जो तालियाँ, सीटियाँ और जयकारे गूंजें है ,वो यूँ ही तो नहीं गूंजे।
All these influencers and youtubers combined in their lives have not done anything or made a content that memorable which will last even few months let alone a year and they are out there commenting and criticising a film which is so fresh and memorable in everybody's mind even after 22 years.
Was it a perfect film. No
Was the storyline extraordinary? No.
Was it a typical Masala entertainer? Yes.
This was the kind of film which you want to watch it in a theatre and experience. This OTT fad has killed the ultimate viewing experience. Yeh saari RUclips pe aa jaate hain hoshiyaari jhaadne. Aur khud inki aukaat nahin ki kuch bana sake. People are enjoying and having such a great time with their family in theatre. Kids are dancing in halls to "Mein Nikla oh gaddi leke" to audience whistling and shouting Hindustan Zindabad hai with Tara Singh. Such a great movie experience. Inko banne do critic. Khud ki bas ki hai nahin kuch. I loved Gadar 2 and i am sure most of us here loved it too. Yeh cool banne ke chakar mein bakwass karte hain ki bekaar film hai aur Oppenheimer ka fake pyaar dikhate hain to look cool.

After this movie got released, my desire to see Shan in Drona 2 exponentially increased.
I've seen both OMG2 and Gadar2 and OMG2 is cinematic brilliance of raising a social issue which indian youth needs but Gadar2 is for family viewers,for those who watches cinema as a fiction and source of entertainment...they don't consider it as knowledge library so it is a movie to enjoy in theatre and OMG2 would've been an amazing OTT release without dealing with sensor craps!!!

I saw Gaddar 2, OMG 2 and Dream Girl 2 this month. But seriously I hated Dream Girl 2. Mediocre film it was. And I got bored watching OMG 2 coz they literally dragged the movie unnecessarily. Atleast I enjoyed Gaddar 2 in many parts of the film. Action was cringe but emotions, music and bgm was awesome to relish. And Utkarsh Sharma's acting was far better than so called new actors who get unnecessary importance from Media. And your review is so biased on Gadar 2 so sad.

Most of the times i agree with you , but this time you are getting harsh with this one. i consider PATHAN and GADAR 2 on the same page as mass entertainers and film making was also similar. GADAR 2 is also a kind of celebration of SUNNY DEOL return and it delivers on that part like PATHAN did. You applauded SRK and many aspects of pathan but you didn't with this one.
This movie of course lacks on many things like PATHAN also , poor screenplay , story but it has many positives too , i believe more than PATHAN.
The music of this movie is way better than PATHAN considering also some songs are remakes. There are many hooting scenes for sure and serves its entertainment purpose.
