Cam gets mad at Mitchell for not being spontaneous enough. Mitchell finally listens to him, but Cam gets upset at Mitchell for not letting him know that he was being spontaneous. That's like someone getting mad at you for not throwing a surprise birthday party for them and also getting mad at you for not inviting them to their own birthday party, so they can shout "surprise" to themselves. wow. I know this is just a tv show and it's all about comedy effect. I get it. I just hope I never deal with someone like that ever again. He reminds me of my mom and my aunt. People like that. You can never win. Moments like theses is why he is my least favorite character. At the end, everyone grew and learn how to be better. I felt like Cam is still Cam when I was watching the final episode.
Thank you. Honestly, I've noticed a few times that Cam has had the least amount of emotional growth as a character in the series. By the last episode, he can't take a single joke at his expense during a housewarming party, and throws it in Mitchell's face about how he's sacrificed for him - yes, it's a noble sacrifice, but it's like going up to a homeless person, giving them fifty dollars and then yelling out to the world "OMG I just gave this homeless guy 50 dollars" He also makes it seem like he's living in LA purely because of Mitchell, but if I remember correctly, they *met* in LA and Cam was already living there, as he'd already dated Pepper before he and Mitch even met. A lot of Cam's personality is just as self-serving as the start of the series, whereas other characters like Jay become more open-minded, Gloria becomes less protective of Manny, Claire becomes less uptight, everyone has growth except Cam (maybe in inconsequential ways he grows)
Cam was a real bitch about that but….. It kinda reminds of me of the time I told my colleague not to surprise her boyfriend at the airport and just tell him that you’ll meet him there. I didn’t even know him but from everything she ever said about him I knew he wouldn’t fully appreciate the surprise she was trying to give him. Especially because she was already originally supposed to meet him there with her mum and he knew that and now it’s only going to be her mum picking him up because the girlfriend “had to work”. I tried to tell her that he sounded like the type of person who would probably much rather appreciate the feeling that he something to look forward to as soon as he got of that plane than a “surprise” but she didn’t listen and the meeting definitely didn’t go down the way she wanted it too….they’re not together anymore and every now and then i see her post memes about how “toxic her ex is”…..yeah she’s perfect example of a narcissist basically she only thought of herself in this whole situation. SHE wanted the surprise, he just wanted her to BE there after he got off his long haul flight from his FIFO job that he’d been at basically during the entire Covid period, they were told either come to work and earn or the borders will close and earn nothing for all those months. So he code to be away and earn all that time to buy a house for the woman who couldn’t even take the time to read her boyfriends mood. I hope he’s doing ok.
