why does raegal always look the fakest? i think that green is harder to light.
dan tan right? I kept getting upset and when they killed him I was just super pissed dragons need a rider and can only have one and Jon bonded with rheagal yet he got killed off I defiantly feel more for the dragons then the characters but Jon and dany didn’t deserve the fate they got either but what can we do it’s over let’s just hope the books do them justice
@@dantan1249 Personally, I never particularly cared for how they colored Viserion on the show. He looked bland compared to Drogon and Rhaegal.....Much prefer how the books describe him as whiteish cream colored with gold wings.

2:32 i love how in this scene you can see the wings not flapping in sync to due the wind physics, unlike other dragons in movies that have their wings flap in sync. Which is why i find the flying for GoT the most realistic.
Can't get over the fact that the people that made GoT's dragons only have 10k subs on youtube. You guys are literal legends and deserve way more recognition!
You are my heroes. Never have I seen cooler dragons than the ones you created. I know how much work it takes to create something like this. I wish I had your level of knowledge in CGI. I would be able to do so much more. (Still learning)

Ik this is four years ago but 4:20 freaks me out. This is insane dedication and creativity, im literally in awe!
All the creativity and simulations that went into their design and development is greatly appreciated. Simply the coolest dragons I've ever seen. The stuff Image Engine did later was awesome but only iterated on the groundwork you guys developed from Season 2 onward. The way you grew them was just awesome.
My only wish was that the Dragons' colours were more brighter so you can really tell the difference between them. The Dragon models before the lighting effects are displayed are absolutely beautiful and you can really tell them apart there.
What you see there is the "true color" or albedo. That's what you get in photogrametry when specular, occlusion, subsurface and reflections are removed. It's done for the purpose of recreating realistic lightning, with mesured real world values in engines that use realtime occlusion, reflections, specular, subsurface and bounced illumination. Otherwise, the dragons would look stylised. And fake.
Still, it is possible to create realistic brighter and more saturated materials for reptiles, but for creatures that big it makes no sense for them to look like that. Look at komodo dragons, elephants and similar animals. Weather and dirt exposure have an effect on the hue and brightness of their color.

Yeah you’ll see this a lot with Predatory animals that there coats, shells, skin will not have too many outstanding colors because they’re not meant to catch your eye 👁 otherwise they would not be great predators. Unlike prey like a flamingo 🦩 who do not rely on stealth for foraging.
Remember dragons outside of there obvious fire breathing abilities really are just the human version of what a falcon/eagle/owl is to mice and etc…

@@user-db9hi7uu3n Very different creatures in avatar. And those look fantasy, which make sense in the fantastic and colorful world of avatar.
You can't make it colorful when you have 10 different types of materials on a gigantic dragon: skin, many different types of scales, dirt etc

The writers don't deserve the dragons that you brought to life, show and book.
Gosh, I‘m so sad, that we will never see how big Drogon would have been become. He was just eight years old and grew so damn fast. Just imagine how big he would’ve been in a 13th season, as Georgs R. R. Martin told, the show needed in his opinion… And just imagine how big he would’ve been when‘s getting older…

The dragons were the full on reason i watched GoT, such majestic and powerful wyverns, animated realisticly and lively, those are the beings i would love to share the world woth.

Anyone notice the wing membrane changes? It goes from looking like it connected somewhere around the end of the ribs to just in front of the hip/leg. I like it connecting just in front of the hip.

0:29 to all aspiring vfx peeps. The dragons and stuff like it look great on a reel but stuff like that hand being cg as well will get you job or at least talked about more.
I'm still sad that a lot of colors and details are lost in the final because of lightning and stuff. There were a lot of scenes where I didn't couldn't tell which dragons is which. In the first seasons it was more cleear for me

The only question I had that seemed to be something they overlooked was if the dragons underneath the pyramid have been chained up since they were young, how did the collars around their necks not strangle them as they grew. Those collars that Tyrion Took off of them looked a lot larger in season 5 than in season 3. Doesn’t seem likely that someone went and there changed out the collars as they grew.

não sei se vocês repararam mais os dragões de Game of Thrones cospem fogo por um buraco de cada lado da boca já os dragões de House of the Dragons cospe fogo de uma forma mais realista o fogo vem de dentro da garganta não de buracos dentro da boca em cenas como a morte da Laena Velaryon e quando o Aemond tenta domar a Vhagar da para perceber
