Egyptian Museum Cairo, Egypt (First Floor) Walking Tour

  • This walk was filmed on the evening of January 20th, 2019. I had limited time to film the museum since it was closing soon so this is a QUICK walk through. I walk past many exhibits. There was also very little light since it was dark outside and much of the museum is lit through the windows to the outside. Given that, I hope you enjoy this tour of the first floor of the Egyptian Museum. Thanks for watching!

@@pink5118 We visited the Cairo Museum - but it was when King Tutakhamuns gold mask was touring the USA, so we did not see that, but, there were so many objects we really did not miss it too badly. 😊
The drive from Alexandria to Cairo aling the Nile was fascinating, like being in history...
I also remember the drive back to Alexandria, through the desert...
I had NEVER seen the stars so bright... I think I spent the entire 3 hour drive, with my nose pressed to the window. Amazing.

I went in 2017 during summer. It was amazing, but very uncomfortable due to the extreme temperature of the museum. We found ourselves revisiting the King Tut's room because it was the only room in the entire museum which had decent air conditioning.

Hey, I was there in January and as far as I know, all of the Tutankhamen exhibit was still there. I saw the famous funerary mask, but I wasn't able to film it. Anyway, the 2nd Floor walk will be posted up on Saturday..or sooner. Thanks for watching!

I was lucky enough to have visited the Cairo Museum at end of November 2019. It’s always been a lifelong dream of mine to travel to Egypt. They didn’t allow cameras tho, and I only took pics with my cellphone. Hoping to go back when the Grand Egyptian Museum opens. Thanks for sharing this lovely video. It gives people the opportunity to experience this amazing place and artifacts when stuck in quarantine.

I had no idea so many artefacts from ancient Egypt existed. This tour is fabulous. It's given me so many insights into their culture and has also helped me work out the enigma of the Giza pyramids since they and the sphinx were as iconic to ancient Egypt as the Eiffel tower is to Paris France. There is a wonderful painting by David Roberts 1829 called "Departure of the Israelites" that depicts the ancient Egyptian metropolitan cityscape as he imagines it to have looked like. I used to once believe the pyramids were there before the Egyptians like some aliens must have built them or maybe a previous more advanced civilization that existed way beyond 5000 years ago. But this tour has convinced me that technology existed only 5000 years ago. Egyptian style was both fluid and triangular. Human body forms are inverted triangles with wide shoulders that tapered into thin waists and perhaps this desirable because it represented people power. Perhaps the Giza Complex was some sort of banking vault system. It's made sense of the star of Israel as first having it's origins in Egypt with the flight of the Jews from Egypt. Egypt was probably one of the wealthiest country's on the planet aware of how despotic it could become. Forms are straight ridgid and uptight; controlled. Perhaps Egypt had a vast surveillance network protecting it's borders. Protecting the gold of course being mined from the Nile. They hoarded and did not bequeath to future generations. That is something intrinsically unique to their culture. Obviously believing in immortality but with some foundation to that belief. They were medically advanced I believe. Why don't we know about it? Is it being concealed from us? Or has that evidence been destroyed and why? Anyway it does strike me as being a humane civilization even if not to the Jews whose rights were obviously abused, or perhaps Egypt was running out of gold hence the mass exodus that was turned into a mystical experience.
