just purchased an 2019 HRV in the United States..Its a base model LX but still very nice. It somehow feels more powerful that a 1.8 4cyl engine..I really like it..Plenty of room ..Im really happy with it.
I purchased the HR-V RS 1.8 2019 here in Australia ... it’s a lovely car .. as for being slow, well... I don’t buy cars for speed and this CVT does just fine ...
Another great review. The important features are explained and any limitations are pointed out. You could teach a lot of auto journalists how to do a good video review.
Nice review mate - lots of important points made, differences explained and you also added some real insights re: the better CVT and quieter cabin noise, oh and the revised media unit ;) thanks
LOL! I have own few Honda vehicles and tires noise is their trait. However, we currently own a 2016 HR-V and road noise is pretty normal for this class. I find it to be quite and not a lot of road noise. Glad they tweet the engine and added insulation to make the vehicle a better better with the refresh. Nice review.
Patrick -- just a small amount of feedback: I very much like this intro jingle than the one you recently switched to. It feels more "auto review" and idk easier on the ears I guess? Just a small thing, but I figured I'd share.
Such a shame that Honda Australia still does not include Android Auto in the 2019 HR-V model, when some overseas models have had Android Auto since 2016!
Don't know where you live, but these smaller/cute utes are NOT everywhere in my area. For whatever reason, folks don't seem to want to go smaller than the CR-V or Escape. I do see Ecosports more often than HR-V s, though, of course that is like saying that I see more armadillos than jackrabbits.
What Honda needs to do at the minimum is to put the 2.0L with 160 HP from the current civic into this HR-V because it is way too under power. The 1.5L would be even better for the so call "Sport" Model. LOL

Honda HRV is a great and practical useful 🚘. Nice and sporty look car and that’s the reason I bought it. No regret

Quite interesting to hear Patrick's pronunciation of this car's name: the letter H is pronounced "haych".with no silent "h" as most say it here.
Will be getting mine in a few days
I love my HRV
我是臺灣 HRV 頂級 S 現任車主,2017 04 01 訂車,2017 05 05 掛牌,已經開 21個月 HRV
Excellent review, informative and well presented, thank you!!
They still have not fixed the infotainment screen orientation which catches the sun and is almost unreadable far too often

Hrv RS 1.5 turbo 0-60 mph is 7.8 seconds
Hrv 1.8 0-60 mph is around 9-10 seconds
It's not slow at all
Amazing review! Loved your take. Def needs that 1.5L turbo engine so badly.

Brilliant review. thank you.
Very detailed👍can you please review Peugeot 5008 and Tiguan allspace as well? Thanks!
People are such babies, my 18 HRV is quiet and has plenty of power and speed ….
Jim Rees You are the lucky ones, the 1.5 Fit engine is what we in Europe have in the HR-V, but there is hope, HR-V Sport Will have the 1.5L Turbo
I wonder if the front end is easily bolted on a 2018 🤔
Brilliant review as always ,thanks so much ....any chance of the new tucson?
Thanks! Will do my best to get my hands on one.
