Thanks, for sharing! Good to hear therapy is helping. Sadly, I had to drop my therapist, recently, 'cause I couldn't afford it, anymore. But it was very helpful and necessary. Mental health should be as much a priority as physical health. Looking forward to see the process you went through.
Couldn't agree more! It's unfortunate that mental therapy isn't more affordable to EVERYONE, which is why I'm hoping I can be some sort of supplement to help people become more aware of a journey they can take to create an amazing life for themselves!
Good job on finding, and seeing a therapist. I have had 3 careers all with our state NC I live and grew up in the rural piedmont on a large farm. I have been a Biology Teacher, Athletic Trainer, and now a retired Professor of Psychology. I volunteer at a tri-county Mental Heath Center where I counsel LGBT , teens mostly. First you have to love yourself entirely, to love others, second unconditional love is a learned behavior, we sometimes get jaded by remarks of others I came out in the early 80's, a much different time. You have to truly love all without exception, or bias. I am very spiritual, not religious, being from the south we went to Sunday School, at Elon University a UCC college, we had to take Old and new Testament's, and I have to admit there are good stories in them. A crowd of people had pulled Mary on to the street, and was going to stone her to death for prostitution. Jesus comes through the crowd and says " Ye with no sins castuth the first stone, no one could because they knew each had sinned in some form, I tell you this story no matter what someone has done they still need unconditional love. There would be world peace if we all had UCL, I put my name out here because I have it, and do not care who knows. I think it is the song by Mary J Bley, " Secretes" , ,I am sorry about your mom, and she had unconditional love for you. Coming out is no easy process, out of every 5 teenage suicides 4 are thought to be LGBT related. Keep doing a good job, and search for something you are passionate about doing for a living, and once you are doing it you will never work another day in your life. If no one has told you they love you today, well I just did. Ritch
AWSOME video!!! I want to say I am sorry to hear about your Mom! I lost both my parents I kind of understand 🙏 I am glad your posting i for some reason was not getting your new videos but I am glad I am now! Hang in there👍👍
Sorry to hear man, I hope you and your family are doing okay. I don't need to tell you I'm sure, but know that she's always with you even when you feel it the least!
What you're doing is very important. It's almost impossible to grow up LGBT in what is still a homophobic society and not have wounds that need to heal. Coming out is just the beginning of a long, sometimes difficult, journey. But without doing the painful work we remained trapped in the past and, in a sense, the homophobes have won. One therapist once advised me that we either work these issues through or we act them out for the rest of our lives, diminishing the possibilities. In other words, unlearning and undoing (and breaking patterns set up in youth) are a big part of wisdom.
Extremely well put, you are one hundred percent right. This journey of sharing the struggles I have encountered with recognizing my insecurities/anxieties/defense mechanisms will be tough, but doing so in the hopes of bringing awareness to others who need to...and want to do the same. There is not only a better life out there, but an unbelievably free life awaiting for us, IF we are willing to do the work. Thanks for the comment and understanding, appreciate your support!
Thanks for sharing your life with us but since you have us all so involved it is only natural that we want to hear some good news too. Are you dating? Have you met someone special? I want you to be happy.
Very glad to see you're back. Always smart, thoughtful commentary. A REAL guy!!

Thanks Bud.
Wow, your mom had a long battle with cancer. I look forward to hearing about the rest of your journey.
Thanks for the note!
