Hi thanks for the video. I'm having issues adding this to ableton in the first place. When i double click the adg it opens an empty ableton workspace....and i cant drag it on to midi tracks.
How did you get that cool looking keyboard at the bottom of your Ableton screen??

@@abletontips Is there a way of disabling/hiding all menu bars in VMPK so when keys are triggered as video above there is no annoying menu bar that pops up at the top of VMPK that bleeds into the Ableton Screen Split? The way you have it operating displays much cleaner when switching between the two windows.

Hi, when I record the chords onto a new midi track, it shifts all the notes up a few semitones. Any idea why this is happening? My settings are set to Post FX. The recorded chords dont sound the same.
This looks great. Is it possible to modify this? For example could it create chords incorporating the last note, as well as the current note? or responding to the footswitch input, or any additional cc inputs from other devices? Im thinking it would be useful if playing single notes in realtime, to control this device via a midi foot controller, or some other controller etc.
Absolutely, footswitch input is always an option, but it would probably require some specific mapping depending on your controller :)

Hey man, love the video. I'm fairly new to this would someone please explain how to install this onto ableton since it comes up as a separate project?
You can drag and drop the file onto any track you want to place it on. MIDI effects are placed on the left of your instrument, you can just drop it there.

“Major Modes” Control
This knob allows you to shift the mode of your scale. Here are the values for each scale (available in Info View at any time):
Ionian Mode: [1-20]
Dorian Mode: [21-41]
Phrygian Mode: [42-62]
Lydian Mode: [63-83]
Mixolydian Mode: [84-105]
Aeolian Mode: [106-127]

hello i'm from indonesia. wanted to ask about ableton live. Can Ableton Live be played like arranger keyboards like the Korg Pa600, Pa3x, Yamaha PSR and others?
Hey although your video sounds greatly, I do not see your chord generator anywhere inside my Ableton 11 Live latest (nov.2021) even if it automatically launched Ableton when I clicked the adg file after download, so Ableton recognized that extension.
So, how can be imported that .adg file from outside into midi effects rack inside Ableton??

Been looking for something like this as I have no music theory. But I can't understand as "your face " covers the most important place of your video. Where did you put it? downloaded it but then nothing more. the rest of the video I can figure out myself. you could be nicer and show us little more about the "installation" itself.

Have you tried pressing the "+" sign under the on/off switch of the device? (upper left hand corner)

Hi .... Just found this but having an issue. The chord generator rack is causing the CPU to overload, even in a new session with no instrument loaded. I even turned off the generator but even then while playing the MIDI clip in session view, the CPU goes into overload on certain notes. It doesn't happen as much in arrangement view and it doesn't happen at all when I delete the rack. May be an Ableton bug? I can send you the project file if interested. Thanks.
Very weird, for me it does not affect CPU levels at all. Have you tried a new project? You could also try updating Live, might be some kind of bug indeed

I wish Ableton could update the macro controller, flipping a switch would be so much more intuitive than 0-127 for just on/off
just open the rack and copy original rack
then adjust to taste in macro mode
0-1 mappings are available, but it's always a knob.

Yes - but you can always transpose it using the built-in control.
@@abletontips What does this actually mean? You gloss over it in your explanation by saying the pitch knob allows you to pitch the chord generator up or down. How much do we pitch it up or down??

This is so ridiculous. By the time you automated the knobs to create an actual chord progression you could've easily just learned the basics of harmony
