Hey Andrew, that is a great question. Our dove tail is designed to carry a load. There is absolutely ZERO pressure on hydraulics when in level towing position. You have to be careful in loading excessive weight on the dove tail to prevent REVERSE/ NEGATIVE pin/ tongue weight as that would be extremely dangerous.
Bare minimum you'd need a 5500 with a commercial 5th wheel to haul that load, and the braking performance would be very questionable. Single screw class 8 with air brakes and a Fuller transmission would be what you'd really want pulling a trailer getting up toward 40,000 lbs.
the trailer is probably overweight also with 26k loaded on it. Triple 12k's with a 40k rating would be what you'd want which would basically be the heaviest spec trailer they make.
Nothing like encouraging people to over load to the WAAAAY over dangerous point! There is already a world full of idiots that severely over load single wheel pickups on a regular basis.
Not a very good video you are way over that little truck capabilities. Goes to the statement just cause you can doesn't mean ya should.. ya didn't even lock the e brake hope the gears didn't get chewed up
Bill. We were just loading the trailer up. My Chevy didn't move from that spot. I wouldn't want to drag that around the parking lot with that small of tow rig.
Bill, Sanford & Sons Transportin Tips #26 Make sure to install bump stops on your truck. When your faithful truck is sitting on them... she's a full and ready pull... Bonus tip ✨. If you been a workin the ol' girl hard and wore out your factory load indicators (bump stops) replace with a block of wood...
Love the trailer, but I'm in love with the 7.3 dually.
I can’t wait to pick up my Gator… driving from Atlanta to Kentucky 💨
I just love you guys! Make me laugh so much!
Y’all crazy….😂
The hydraulics picking up weight is one thing. How much weight can you load on the tail and drive down the road?

Soooo once again how much weight can you put on the dovetail?
@@thecamdenyard 10,000 lbs max
@@sidmosley8718 10,000 on the dove tail Alone? That’s pretty good.
I am the good looking less fury one in the video
Well done, and that truck is sitting tilted 45 degrees...
Yeah, my truck never really settled back after that.
The trailer can handle the weight, hence the point of this video, but you'll need a bigger, Class 3-5 truck to haul all that safely.

When she's as low as she goes... she's a ready to go...

Could y’all make any more of a annoying sound with a dove operating?
absolutely. I will get engineering to look at that for you.
Wow
Trailer great... the truck sucks lol

You should be thrown in jail if you attempt to pull that down the road. Not impressed at all.
