- I'm sharing this old scrapped animation project I used to work on back in April 2020.
It's just been collecting dust, and thought I'd upload it alongside its behind-the-scenes stuff.
I was working on it with a lot of passion at the time, but fell off after some burnout and just never was interested in continuing it again, but I'll share the storyboard with you guuuuys
I was a bit skeptical on uploading this ori video since I don't really do ori fanart anymore, but I thought it'd be good to share while hoping for a new shift in inspiration~

I'm sure this would've been beyond incredible if it were ever finished, but i'm glad you shared it. It's never a waste to share whatever work you've done, even if it's unfinished or you don't like it anymore, since others will surely do. Best of luck to you my man, wish you the best!
Burnout is never fun, this animation looks great even despite being unfinished but you should do what makes you happy more than anything else
God that sidequest still breaks my heart, I'm sure the full animation would have been incredible but I don't blame you for not finishing it (not just because of burnout but because that scene is just so depressing) I always assumed the Moki you put in that animation was Ming but it seems I was mistaken. If there was anything in Ori that still draws so much intrigue from me it's the Creeping Stone that afflicts this Moki Family and all the rest in the Silent Woods clearly it's a really bad thing but it's still so mysterious
I didn't expect to get teary eyed this video. Even though it was mostly the storyboard, it was moving.
I’m never letting go of my Ori fandom side of me. Especially if I have a Ori plushie in my room. Ori and the will of the wisps was just a really good game for me and I always enjoy playing it

Ahhhh, this may be one of the last (if not the last) Ori related artworks I’ll see from you, so allow me to say thank you for sharing all of the work in these videos with us :)

Dang I remember this. It was always such a joy waiting for new updates on this, was sad to see it go but it’s great getting to see what it could’ve been. I do wish Ori had gotten more high level fan animations like this. They’re so few and far between ;w;

Ah dear, I clicked on this video thinking "Aww cute cat thing, wonder what this is about!" took me twenty seconds to remember playing the game... This is really well done but oh, my heart...
This side quest made me bawl my eyes out whenever I went back originally to see what happened.. I still wish it had a happier ending-
or at least a bittersweet one
dont show in game, but i like to believe, after ori become the new spirit tree, all creature has become stone, return to normal again
Wow…..the first time i did this mission it took me of surprise. Seeing animated is as sad as i imagined it would be.
Shupa Mikey avatar... I have a big hunch that you might possibly be a fan.
But really, I didn't even go back to the hut on my first time through (or at least notice the detail), yet it still got me good.
It’s sad. Something that not many game studios are willing to do
For somereason, I imagine this quest as sort of a lucid dream from Ori. Like this quest is just Ori giving these lost souls a warm unification before their departure, rather than an physical quest.
This made me cry, when I saw this happened in the game I was already devastated, but this takes it to a whole new level. 😭😭😭 Ori is such an emotional game and I feel you bring it to life with your amazing animations and animatics. I know this would have been absolutely stunning if you had finished it! 💖
You know, with the writing I'm doing, I feel the emotions so much more. You did an excellent job at capturing the emotion, even if it is unfinished. Just remember: You have so much potential. Make sure to take the time you need, and don't burn out again. We like our Shupa Dupa guy.
Thanks for showing us the unfinished stuff. Even unfinished, it was very emotional to watch, it hit me so hard that I almost cried...

This is Incredible for such a short animation and it appears to be approaching one of the most painful ministories from will of the wisp. Wish we could see it completed!

Very beautiful animation, how it should have looked in the end - generally breathtaking.
But yes, fan projects usually require a lot of strength and inspiration, but sometimes it is not enough and the project is abandoned.
And damn, I remembered about this side quest again, and I'm crying again. (as for me, it is even sadder than the final game, in some way)
You did such an incredible job. Playing this part of the game hurt so much. It made me wish I'd never gone back and told him what happened to his family. The fact he purposely joined them afterwards broke my heart. It's a dark moment I'll never forget.
Even though this is unfinished it still managed to punch me in the gut with sadness.

The single most heartbreaking scene in all of gaming history
I remember seeing this when you first started. Honestly, I completely forgot about it. But thank you for sharing, Shup. It’s nice to see what this could have been.
But about the project itself, when the angle of Ming (I’m just going to presume it is Ming) was waving to Ori. I thought: “Isn’t that where the Moki father’s hut was?” But when Ming gave Ori the key, I instantly knew where things would lead.
Anywho, best of luck for you, Shup. May Kogahri continue to let you thrive as who you are.

the piece you finished was incredibly beautiful. Few have talent like you. It's a huge shame that it's not a finished project. It would be absolutely amazing to see it finished like the piece you managed to complete. But I understand that there must be a lot of work and effort and time around it. Always nice to see something new from you.
You did a flipping wonderful work giving moki and ori more character and expression. The rest of the story was very touching, they're kind and gentle nature, its heartbreaking it ended that way aa!. Thank you for sharing Mikey

Incredible…when I played through this and found THIS, I cried for 5 minutes straight, I felt SO HORRIBLE for the father…I wish I could of actually saved them…

This part was really Sad in the game
They were so excited to see their family again and once you show them the Toy they actually run off to their home and curl up next to the petrified family members
