Massive and fierce. I think this song is his best performance on the album. Can’t wait for the next Draconian album. Went from never hearing of this band before to this being my favorite album from 2020 very shortly after I heard it.
Johan is such a genius, he has composed this as a Doom Metal classic. Has all the ingredients that made Doom Metal. A crushing Riff to begin with, dark, introspective lyrics, a perfect balance of clean and harsh vocals.
Can't wait to hear the rest of the album

How are they underrated? They are unanimously loved by gothic doom fans. In fact, I don't think I have ever met a doomster who did not like at least some of their stuff. "Not recognized in the mainstream" does not mean "underrated"

I absolutely got shivers when Anders Verse burst in. Actually made me cry, the lyrics and the way he growled them. you could feel the intense emotion.
This album will be an absolute masterpiece and one of the finest Draconian achievements.
Their music... Vocals... And pace is so good... I love this band... Can't get enough... Sacrificial flame, lustrous hearts, sorrow of sophia, ascend into darkness... Earthbound... And many many more... I started listening to Draconian when i searched for "haggard similar..." on spotify...

For me, this is a song that acts exacly like a flame....starting with a little spark, then growing melodic until the min 4:00, when a beautiful explosion of music and lyrics has place, right in your face ! DraconiaN, as always, is stellar ! 🙏🔥💙

I have one feeling towards this band: gratitude. They give form to my sentiments, so that I'm able to express them.
Each lyric is going to take me hours to contemplate on and listen to again and again. I would pay anything if Draconian released a collector's box like they did with Sovran.

Heike's voice easily gives me eargasms.
She sounds like Lana Del Rey and Sharon D. Adel have had a daughter, but mixed with a full of emotion instrumental, resulting in the most beautiful result doom metal could ever want to sound. BTW, Anders sounds awesome here too!

De fato. E posso colocar facilmente Sovran como um dos melhores álbuns de toda está década não só para o Doom/Gothic mas pra todo o Heavy Metal. É uma verdadeira obra prima! Esse novo, pelo que to vendo vai ser um discaço.

I heard this song so many times and yet the chorus still gives me goosebumps.
Heike is at her most brilliant on this Draconian Album/CD. But, also Anders is totally at the top of his game as well and delivers some of his most heart felt brutal death growls ever. 'Under A Godless Veil' is without question, in my opinion DRACONIAN's coolest best Album/CD yet. Wonderful!
