    LOA= limit of advance
    EPW team= Enemy prisoner of war (they check for explosive or any traps that could hurt the squad).
    ACE report= Ammo, Casualties, and equipment. (Check to see if any squad member is running out of ammo, and/or check if they are hurt, and/or check and see if their equipment is working properly

    It has been cleared for public release, you can see the drill in even more detail by purchasing the manual in any army/navy shop or googling and getting it for free online. If it was an OPSEC violation then it wouldn't be accessible, that being said, check out ARTEP 7-8 drill, on the front cover it states, "DISTRIBUTION RESTRICTION--Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited" Don't worry bout what the enemy has, they've had access to this info with no trouble for years.

    we were supposed to do a squad attack scenario for our nic. problem was, we were so backed up on training due to 'snow days' that we got quickly briefed on what to do that day and hadnt ever practiced it. so afterwards, we got to spend a couple extra fun filled hours with our very pissed off ds unfucking ourselves cause we sucked lol. once you know what your doing though, this is one of the most fun parts of bct

      This is unclassified material. The enemy has easy access to this and they still can't stop this squad movement. It's that effective.

      These tactics have been used by every element since the beginning of time... No great mystery... There are elements to our success that is classified and not talked about.

    If they hadn't recived their emergency resup why then demo the 762.39 & the AK-47's . I would assign one of the two rifle,s to each fire team and distribute the ammo evenly . Untill resupply has been completed . Both teams being well are that each are in possession of the enemy rounds . And aware of one another's position.

    "Prepare to copy" is bad radio procedure and should never be heard over the radio. The RTO should always be prepared to receive traffic. Excess radio traffic only increases the time it takes to send a message and increases the senders electromagnetic signature exposing them to a greater chance of being located by radio direction finding.

    • @markhakey3131
      @markhakey3131 10 лет назад

      While you are absolutely correct about the RTO being prepared to receive traffic, I've always understood "prepare to copy" as a courtesy notification that the information to follow is something that the recipient is probably going to have to write down, and is therefore short for "prepare to copy this down (possibly word-for-word)".

    • @ELDoro
      @ELDoro 8 лет назад +1

      +jfk767 The RTO should always be prepared to copy is not realistic. He very often may be involved in movement, under fire, or engaging himself. He may be monitoring multiple nets or engages in other communications not always via a radio.

    • @jfk767
      @jfk767 8 лет назад +1

      +GOON SiX If he isn't prepared to copy he either won't answer your call, will answer with "stand by" or can always use proper radio procedure like "say again" or "say again all after (whatever)". People dumb enough to throw out extra and extraneous shit like "prepare to copy" or "how copy" do nothing but make it easier for me, a signals intelligence guy, to find you and pinpoint you due to your poor radio procedure. I had great success in the field against the people who used such shoddy and unprofessional comms habits. It was much harder to pinpoint competent people. Your choice, your life. And the lives of your team.

    • @ELDoro
      @ELDoro 8 лет назад

      +jfk767 Using the logic in your first comment there shouldn't be a need for "say again". He should always be prepared to copy........ I respect your experience but my experience still says it isn't realistic for a boots on the ground RTO to be prepared to copy. When your in contact the enemy already knows your position, I could care less about a signals guy pinpointing me.I never once saw an RTO, PL, or anyone ready to copy. If your in a TOC or something similar then I agree there is no excuse.

    • @jfk767
      @jfk767 8 лет назад

      +GOON SiX , your claim is a bit absurd. I guess in your world there are never any coms issues, natural or man made interference, loud noises on either end of the conversation, sending RTO speaking faster than the receiving RTO can write, etc.. Like I said, if the RTO isn't ready to receive traffic they will be telling the sending unit when they respond. Unless they are completely incompetent in which case you have bigger problems. Also, in the cases you mentioned there are only few instances where messages would need to be copied verbatim. Most radio traffic can be passed verbally without need for an exact transcript. Again, you gain nothing by saying things such as "prepare to copy" in fact you waste time.

    This is a video from Fort Benning channel on Vimeo, this belongs to the Rangers. And you have the audacity to upload it here as it was yours? I wander what this will do to the relations of the national guard and the Rangers. At the very least, do the right thing and give Fort Benning´s guys credit for their hard work.

    No offense, but all this radio sounds like a waste of time if your soldiers are experienced, can't you just tell your RO to report in, as you tell your TL's to have a hold and flank, then simply order the flanking squad to hold position while the pinning squad moves forward to hold the flanks, tell a TL to grab a rifleman and dispatch any intelligence, equipment and survivors and to take counts of equipment or casualties? I'm not trained or have been in training or experience, but what I watched seems like a lot of bureaucracy or a controlled training situation rather than an actual fire situation, you're not going to have both squads fall back to pick up their shit while your ass is hanging open number one. Number two, that is a lot of rounds being expended for two men, where a DM can simply take them out with, depending on accuracy of the man, in two shots. Or a properly placed grenade from the GR would be exactly what was needed for a forward observation team, not to mention you want to dispatch them fast if they do actually have a radio. Watching it again, I mean you can just order the guy's checking if the enemies are still alive to check their shit after they've made sure there is no activity behind the platoon. The only thing the PL should be calling in in my mind is the after action. If I'm wrong or misinterpreted something, let me know.

      +Erreul One, it is important to understand that this is a template to be used, adjusted, or added to if needed according to different situations. It rarely ever plays out exactly like this. But mastering it, covering all these possibilites is extremely important. Two, all this communication is extremely important. However, in real situations it is done a lot more quickly and condensed. Third, The amount of rounds being expended is the most important part of the battle drill, it is crucial to its success. In real life Machine-Guns win the fight, not DMs. They more importantly suppress areas where you may not be able to see the enemy but from the enemies' perspective causes them to not want to peak out (thus minimizing their chance of spotting the assaulting element's approach.
