Love It CVVCLIPS Bro.
U said brawl for all was brilliant
How to explain the brawl for all: Lets say you had a competition at your job whos the best basketball player? You win. And as a reward, you have to play lebron one on one. And if you lose, you're fired.. thats literally what this shlt was. They did Bart 1000% wrong and it's bs.
More like one on one with Draymond green but I feel you though
@@cozyprimoLoL yeah.. butterbean isnt lebron. that would've still probably been tyson in 99.. but vince aint payin tyson $$. when he can get butterbean to inflict almost as much damage for a fraction of the cost.
@@cozyprimoDANG !!!!!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's JR's doing which is what showed his true character. He's not a good guy at all.
did you hear that butterbean said, Bart was suppose to lose to Dr. Death, but because he didnt, they brought in Butterbean as punishment
Bart got punished for being loyal and doing his job. That whole shit show shouldn't have ever happened. He got punished for other people's mistakes and lack of judgment. Shameful.
I mean he hit dude with a gnarly uppercut
This is how the corporate overlord masters operate!! Bart Gunn had heart and it cost him his WWF/WWE career. And that last right hand nuclear bomb that Butterbean landed on BG was just gnarly!! I am glad and surprised BG lived thru that! Dang!
Plus they practically left money on the table with a Dr. Death/Bart Gunn feud. And if things didn't work for either of them as Singles they could have had Doc do a "Miracle Violence Connection 2" and have Bart Gunn and Doc gain each other over the course of their feud [have them go 50/50 like they did in All Japan] and decide to team up. Which would have worked well with JR doing his Anti-Vince angle. And have them steamroll through until they got to the Outlaws. Which would have been great because you have Kayfabe Brother vs Brother and the ultimate style[outlaws] vs substance [Bart and Doc] matchup.
Shame All Japan pretty much did all of that [Doc made him an honorary Varsity Club member [when he was teaming with Mike Rotunda]and had him team with him in 6 man tags] and he also in Bart's corner in matches as well.
yep big time disgraceful. bart deserved better.
he didnt have to do it.
Old Man Bean seems like such a humble, remarkably well spoken for a man who was an international contending professional fighter for so long. It's hard to tell that the man being interviewed here is known the world over but it's easy to believe that he would be loved if he was.
He was never ever near contender status. He was a carnival act. Fun but a carnival act. 4 rounders against aging journeymen or stiffs don't cut it for contenders.
Bart actually went on to have a rather successful career in Japan wrestling as Mike Barton.
He's in Virtual Pro Wrestling 2
After WWE, Bart won the world tag team titles over in All-Japan Pro Wrestling (which at the time was the # 1 wrestling promotion in Japan and those world tag team titles were a huge deal. They were treated as being far more important than the way WWE treats their tag team titles). He's also one of the best characters in the Nintendo 64 game "Virtual Pro Wrestling 2" (released in Japan and uses the same Aki engine as No Mercy, Bart Gunn was known as Mike Barton in All Japan pro wrestling).
And 'a good wrestler' will not outbox a good boxer, but if they have the opportunity to use legit wrestling holds and maneuvers, the good wrestler that avoids boxing will always win. Fake, scripted matches, though the tough ones are very talented and incredibly dangerous.
Yeah he got way over cause he was promoted as the guy who knocked out Dr. Death. In the 90s Dr. Death and John Lauranaitis were the biggest stars in Japan. So everyone wanted to see the man who legitimately knocked out Dr. Death.
The more odd part was, Bart credited Dr. Death in getting him into All Japan. It was something like Dr. Death contacted some people to talk and bring Bart there. I heard they did multiple programs and feuded with each, and eventually teaming with each other.
WWE should take full responsibility for A. putting this ridiculous gimmick or shoot together and for B. punishing Bart for winning the brawl for all
You know they won't, especially Vince Russo
@@BeyondDaXRusso wanted to push Bart.
McMahon, Prichard and Ross wanted to cut the legs out from under him.
@@danielburger1775not true. everyone but Russo agreed that Dr. Death was going to be a star and should be the one to win it. obviously this did not happen, Bart made it to the finals and they punished him. Russo single handedly ruined multiple careers in one Brawl for All. incredible.
@@iannnCFC Russo came up with the idea for BF.
Ross assumed Williams would win.
After Gunn won, Russo wanted to push him, but McMahon and Ross made sure that never happened.
@@danielburger1775 yeah… they were never going to push Bart, especially after Russo’s idea got these guys hurt and destroyed all legitimacy Vince and JR’s guys had before going into the event.
Damn he's slimmed down a lot, he's looking well
DDP is once again coming in for the save.
He lost over 200 lbs

Dude I still remember that knockout, butterbean was freaking ruthless.
Was my first wrestlemania inever watch so it’s etched in history for me
That's just Butterbean. Guy doesn't know how to go easy. Watch his "Fight" against Johnny Knoxville. He nearly murdered him.
@@zickykane5206Knoxville is so lucky when he bounced off the backpacks he fell between the cabinets
1@@zickykane5206
If I remember correctly Mero's opponent just kept taking him down because they weren't pure boxing matches despite wearing boxing gloves. They would allow a take down and just get them back up. So marc's opponent kept taking him down and won a decision. So his actual boxing skills just got neutralized.
He fought Steve Blackman, who is very skilled in martial arts. He knew the risk of going toe to toe with Mero so he kept shooting on him and taking him down and scoring points.
The Brawl for All was meant to be modeled after MMA and Toughman Contests that were gaining popularity at the time. But when seeing Steve Blackman's martial arts skills and realizing he could literally cripple any of his competition in a shoot fight, WWE restricted the rules so only punching and takedowns were allowed. Because of this, Blackman winded up exploiting the takedown rules so he could get the leg up on Mero. If not for an injury Steve got while training for his next round match, he likely had a good shot at winning the entire Brawl for All tournament.
Steve Blackman it was, dude is a martial artist and knew exactly what to do to take Mero,a boxer, down, like literally
Mero would have won if it was 100% a boxing match, but as mixed rules/MMA Blackman most definitely had the edge
@@johncook9392 yeah JBL’s trainer even told him, do not try to box Mero cause he is going to kill you. And that’s why he also went for takedowns instead. But you could see just by Marc Mero’s stance that he was legit.
Bart was never gonna be a big star, but he was a decent mid card guy who didn’t deserve to get knocked out by Butterbean who I don’t blame at all. He and Bart did their jobs they were hired to do, but it sucks that their fight was to punish Bart.
Good to see butterbean looking so healthy, great interview
Well he just proved Bruce Prichard a total liar. Which we knew anyway. But Bruce denied it was a punishment. JR was in his feelings about Dr. Death losing. So they punished Bart for it.
Bruce lies his ass off on those podcasts. It's embarrassing how much he tries to tow the company line even when he doesn't work for them anymore.
@@EGarrett01He still works there
@@Mpz13He's been fired and rehired repeatedly.
@doubles7533 Bruce can deny it all he wants. People in wrestling don’t lie?
JR helped Bart get bookings in All Japan and Doc protected Bart when he became the Gaijin booker when he returned to All Japan[Bart only lost to the top guys [aka Mutoh, Tenryu, etc. And if he lost in tag matches his partner was usually pinned] so if Bart had heat with them it was very short lived. This was Vince, Pritchard and Patterson [because Pritchard and Patterson laughed at the idea of him Ko'ing Doc]
Butterbean looks like he's lost some weight. The "Brawl for All" was a terrible idea, most of the guys in it hadn't been in a legit fight in years.
He’s lost over 200lbs with the help of DDP!
Still better than anything WWE has done in the last 15+ years

Still one of the worst things they did to Bart Gun
They could have easily use Bart Gunn new found success to push him into the stars.. If the machine would have gotten behind Bart Gunn he would have been a megastar.. but If it's not Vince McMahon's chosen picks he would make sure the talent that got over themselves will get embarrassed like he did Bart..
@@kenrickeason I would not be shocked by JR was behind this cause Steve Williams was his boy
Brawl For All was a shoot, just make sure you lose to the guy the boss was pushing.
@@johnnyskinwalker4095he (and Dr. Death) helped get him into All Japan (Doc was the Gaijin Booker at tge time) so if he had heat with them it was short lived.
One of the worst things???What could they have done they was worse lmao
This is where I will never be able to understand Vince, he was hoping Dr death would win and he lost so Vince decides to let him go but punishes bart for beating Dr death 🤔
Imagnine being punished for being booked in a shoot fight on a wrestling show and winning your match…..Vince has severe arrested devolvement
That was a strictly JR thing, Vince was having one of his clueless Mr. Burns moments.
DDP Yoga seems to be good. Good for Butterbean and good for him putting in the work to make it happen.
If only WWF could’ve worked the fight to make Dr Death win. Crazy idea, right?
Haha it’s like all of a sudden they forgot how they have been conducting their business
That would have defeated the purpose of the brawl for all though. It was meant to be real fights.
I saw the Dark Side of the Ring episode, great to see and hear butterbean side of his story. Bart Gunn deserves better.
Butterbean sitting there telling this story with remorse and feeling bad all these years later and CVV just sitting there laughing at them LOL you can see that butterbean isn't enjoying that he genuinely seems to feel bad for what he feels is ending the guy's career and unnecessarily beating up on a guy who in his view wouldn't have been able to defend himself
That knockout was brutal, watching Gunns head was scary.
Wow Butterbean looks great I'm so happy he's in good shape
Bart gets punished for winning was always the sentiment I got from the whole thing. Which is ridiculous.
Bart got screwed, it was worse than Montreal
Chris saying the brawl for all was a brilliant idea ? What’s he been smoking . Thanks I needed a laugh today .
It was a brilliant idea…… idea, and execution are not the same thing.
This happens in business all the time other businesses steal an idea. It doesn’t work as well, because the execution is poor.
There wasn’t much thought put into it , they didn’t really prepare. They could’ve had them wearing headgear. They even could’ve had actual boxing referees.
But again, there’s a big difference between an idea and execution .
It was a brilliant idea to try and capitalise on MMA/UFC's growing popularity at the time. The execution was terrible.
@@IrishKyokushin they also had MMA fighters in the WWF. It could’ve been done really well.

Obviously you cared enough to comment.
When Mark Henry talked to Vince about joining the worlds strongest man competition, Vince’s response was “you can do it, but if you don’t win you’re out of a job. I can’t promote the world’s second strongest man.”
It’s crazy how he gave Mark Henry the option but here they literally brought one of the best heavyweights at the time and forced Bart to fight him.
How Vince wasn’t sued for this is beyond me
Good to see Butterbean looking so well
Homie not lying i still remember that Johnny Knoxville fight
"Is Butterbean okay?"
Good to see Butterbean has gotten his mobility back and is looking healthy!
DDP saves lives, there is going to be a show about his transformation
They hired a trained killer with 50-0 record to fight a 0-0 guy, cause they didnt get what they wanted😂😂😂😂
I seen a Bart Gunn interview and he said wwe made him go to boxing training after he won the brawl for all and they made him try to fight as a boxer so he had no chance
Butter bean lookin best he had in years
Butterbean's forearm looks gigantic.
I love Jim Ross one of my favorite commentators really
But he will sit there and tell you til his face turn blue Butterbean wasn’t punishment they just brought him in to get Bart over 💀
I'm happy to see Butter Bean doing better.
Chris should interview Bart Gunn.
This chappie seems so nice for someone so tough
What they did to bart really It infuriates me, they ruined a mans career out of spite.
Poor Bart he could of died in that ring in front of everyone 🤦
BRILLIANT IDEA?!?! ARE YOU BLIND?!?!?
Jim Ross’ finger prints were all over the Butterbean fight. Poor Bart got hit so hard he woke up a few years later as an electrician.
This interview was longer than yhat whole match.
Problem is, bringing in Bean to beat up Bart doesnt just make Bart look stupid but all the guys Bart beat at Brawl 4 All look stupid.
Butterbean looks great. I'm confused why vince wanted to punish Gunn, it wasn't scripted so he wasn't "supposed" to lose
took me a minute to realize the background is fake.
no
@@hyperchord the background is green screen.
All of this because JBL couldn't keep his mouth shut.
Oh no, I disagree, brawl for all was a terrible idea. All it did was get people hurt and it ruined the mystique as supposed tough guys got laid out, brawl for all basically broadcast "Wrestling is fake" quite loudly. It also wrecked the plans for a Stone Cold - Dr Death feud, because when a low mid card wrestler, who can actually handle himself in a scrap, knocks out the threat to the WWF champion it kind of negates that angle for sure. Not to mention it ended Bart Gunn and Dr Death's WWF careers.
They done Bart dirty with that deal....
Personally I loved Brawl for All. It was awesome to see those wrestlers in real fights and to find out who were the true badasses. The fact that people still can't stop talking about it today means it was a success.
lol i hope you’re joking. the Brawl For All was one of the worst ideas in wrestling. it got wrestlers hurt and ended careers for the likes of Bart Gunn and Dr. Death. absolutely nothing good came out of the event. if you enjoyed this you don’t know wrestling.
@@iannnCFC Not joking at all. I am proven right by the fact that people can't stop talking about it decades later.

All they had to do was say "Hey Bart despite our original plan your taking a dive tonight, Dr Death goes over"
They changed the rules just to watch Bart get destroyed 😅
Looks like this was Butterbean after his work with DDP 👍🏼💪🏼
Brawl for All.
3 legit gentlemen - Steve Blackman, Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock. One got fluked, one was told to withdraw, one was not in the competition.
Mental.
Bs on all counts.
Blackman got injured, and pulled out.
Severn and Shamrock both chickened out.
The "scoring" was also absurd. The commentators, and viewers, knew Godfather beat Severn, yet Severn was awarded the win.
@@danielburger1775 Neither Severn nor Shamrock chickened out, they knew this shit was stupid and well beneath their legit skills.
@TheNEOverse Shamrock and Severn were both announced for it.
Both guys "knew" they would be the Final 2.
When they started seeing the WWF guys were legit, Shamrock withdrew right before it started. That's why Karl/Pierre was a last-minute substitute.
Severn boasted about how he was gonna win. Then, when Bart Gunn knocked out Steve Williams, Severn tucked his tail between his legs, and quit.
Man is looking slim glad to see hes looking so healthy.
Bart would have had a better chance had they not taught him proper boxing technique. He did better swinging like a wild man.
But Butterbean insisted it be a boxing fight, not Brawl for All rules.
Nobody's gonna beat a champion pro boxer, if it's the guy's first boxing fight ever.
@@danielburger1775 It was Vince's idea for him to train like a Boxer
@@IrishKyokushin But the fight was falsely called a Brawl For All. And Lawler even said Bart should try a takedown.
If Bart had gone for a takedown, he would have been dq'd.
But it was a World Champion pro boxer against someone with no boxing experience, who didn't even know it was a boxing fight until 2 weeks before the fight.
Lost all respect for Chris when he said Brawl was a good idea
This guy was a champion in tough man contests but he wasn't ever a real contender in boxing. You can't name one good professional boxer he beat. Which is very similar to Jake Paul.
The dumbest thing was not what they did to Bart Gunn, not the concept of Brawl For All but it was quite simply the idea that Dr. Death could get over in WWF at that point (if ever).
What the hell were they thinking?
Should have been given a contract! Would have been fun
The most overlooked screwjob, makes Montreal look like a joke, Bart did everything right and their reward was to bury him, you could've gotten another fighter who's not a boxer and made it more of a contest, but no, it had to be Butterbean because their goal was really to just screw and bury Bart.
This is why people shouldn't work for Vince McMahon
Bart really should've just said no, you need to protect yourself and people bitch about guys that are political but Hogan would've never OK'd this nonsense and that's why he never got screwed, he never allowed himself to get screwed and that's how you need to be with these fools like McMahon. Just say no, tell the office to stick the match up their rear end and call the boys about it because it would make the entire pro-wrestling business look bad.
At first glance i thought Butterbean was Jerry Lawler with a shaved head lol
He's a mix martial artist. He was told not to fight.
They did Bart dirty on this one
BART even asked them if they wanted him to throw match vs Williams and they said no, so Bart Ko’d him… only Russo liked this stupid waste of time they caused an already depleted roster to become thinner (if rock Austin and foley had not been there, they lose the War)
Sorry Chris, it wasn’t a brilliant idea. Hate to agree with carny extraordinare Bruce Pritchard, but it simultaneously legit hurt a number of guys in its execution, it made any chance of getting any ROI from Steve Williams, and it was used to punish Bart Gunn for legitimately winning.
They did Bart Gunn dirty asf smh
This is when I started to view so called "good Ole JR" differently. He's a real life heel. He did mart wrong
“Brilliant idea” ? No it was not it was a terrible idea. Have Wrestlers who had none/limited Boxing skills go up against each other the up a against a professional Boxer. They risked them getting serious injured in fact several them did get injured. Bart Gunn got a concussion after being knocked out by Butterbean and was released not long after, so everything turned out to nothing.
It was an interesting idea on paper. They could’ve had them wear headgear or at least protected them in some way.
This is one of those funny stories where the Vince McMahon filter goes out the window for Russo.
Vince McMahon allowed this to take up the entire show and he didn’t think to put any safety precautions in place ?
I feel like a lot of the times Vince McMahon gets away with stuff because of the impact he’s had on the industry.
The execution of this idea was terrible. They should’ve just made it like a shoot work.
But I’ve always said it is Vince. McMahon thought that people were in danger. It would’ve been gone the next night on raw.
It was Mero vs Blackman if I remember and he lost on takedowns
Bart nearly fought Butterbean again in Pride FC
Mero was boxing while Blackman was doing takedowns.
Did he just say Brawl for All was a brilliant idea?
Guy is a monster in the ring.
Ahhh yes ... Butterbean also knocked of future WWE Hall of Famer
former UFC Champion Francis Ngannou considered the most destructive pure puncher in UFC has lost both his boxing matches. That's why you shouldn't compete in even related sports without the required skills and experience. With MMA gloves and Bart Gunn going for takedowns instead of boxing, the result could have been different.
The plan was Dr. Death was going to get a huge push for winning Brawl for All and feud with Steve Austin over the belt. Everyone was so confident he would win. But its really stupid that they didnt fix the fights to begin with. So Bart gets blamed because he ruined their plans? Why wasnt he told to lose? I get they were mad because they invested a lot of money in Dr Death and had big plans for him and Bart ruined them but thst was Vinces fault.
they probably want the fight to feel real as possible hence being a shoot fight but yeah it was stupid Russo actually wanted to push Bart after his win but the rest of management disagree
The whole premise reminds me of highschool where some idiot would just declare one of his buddys as the toughest or unbeatable, a challenge would occur and the tough guy and loud mouth would find out pretty quick that buddy was definitely not the toughest around lol
They destroyed his career and put his life in danger for doing his job. Poor guy
His arm looks brutal
Who gave him a better fight Bart Gunn or Johny Knoxville?
I don’t get how this is something to be proud of Bart Gunn isn’t a pro boxer what a dumb idea
The only reason Bart got punished for this was not only that he won, but with him winning, he screwed up their plans for Dr. Death Steve Williams winning the whole thing and then having a feud with Stone Cold. Blame Russo all you want, but Bart’s career was ruined because of pettiness and bitterness. That’s all and nothing more.
see this shit is way worse on Vinces head than his lawyer/hooker scandal. With the lawyer woman, she knew what she was doing and was happy until vince stopped paying, which made him look like a demon, but this shit is insane. Bart put his life literally on the line for WWF, and that was the payback he got.
hes now known as harry covert
I was shocked Marc Mero didn’t win the thing too
Butterbean vs Biden!
This was so dumb. Bart got punished for taking out Dr death, who they wanted to win it all and get a big push. By this time, Dr. death was old, broken down and way past his prime. Even if he would’ve won the brawl for all he was not gonna draw money.
Chris, sometimes you blow your guests too much. The Brawl for All wasn’t a brilliant idea. 2/3rds of the guys in that thing got hurt, and several of their careers never recovered.
Gotta give bart credit he held his own in the brawl
Ko ing Bart Gunn is nothing to be proud of. I bet Bart Gunn would kick this guys ass now in a rematch now that Bart Gunn has more experience
I used to want to see Butterbean vs Mike Tyson.
Oh it's gone down in history but not the way Butterbean thinks.
Just look at the size of Butterbeans undearm do you wanna get hit by that? I sure don't.
Brawl for all wasn't a brilliant idea 🤦🏾 Bean had a point about mero but they encouraged takedowns but had massive gloves on. As Cornette said Russo had been convincing people for months that everything was fake and just storyline and everything was a swerve, then comes up with the brawl for all where everyone thinks it's a work but they were legit fighting and racking up injuries, madness.
Bean was right though, Bart Gunn made the mistake of trying to box him, which was only going to go one way as bean was a boxer and Gunn had been training for a few months
So why can u find no video where he fights mark hunt
Butterbean's arms are still the size of birch trees.
"it was a brilliant idea" yeah, wanna bet on that?
That was fucked up on what they did to Bart and Butterbean is an asshole to that to someone who can’t box like that.
