    Jan, I appreciate your details around the machine screws used for the aileron connectors (about 5:00 into the video) I wasn't quite sure how TH was expecting this to be done. I also used a dremel with a grinding bit to take off the squeezed metal around the threads, but I needed to use my big lighted magnifying glass to do so.

    • @jan_spatny
      @jan_spatny  3 года назад

      Hi! Yeah manuals dont talk about this step of build in detail... "cut it and youre done" is not the best approach in my opinion. There is no harm in using dremel or sand paper to take a care of the thread after cutting the screw. In general there is no such thing as using dremel too much :D

    and how do it do...🤔🤔🤔

  • @Dragonewiz
    @Dragonewiz 3 года назад

    I mounted my battery on the bottom right side...CG is good...1800 just behind the landing gear ...does it matter top or bottom for the battery??? long as the CG is good???

    • @jan_spatny
      @jan_spatny  3 года назад +1

      Very good question!!! So, the "as long as CG is good" is usually ment as "the CG is good on one of the axes" - typically the front to back ballance. But you also know that if one of your wings is heavier (or you have too much of electronics on one side of the plane) the CG if you measure it left to fight will not be in the center of the airplane and you may experinece some roll tendencies when you pull elevator sharply (and so on). The more or less same applies for top to bottom CG which manifests itself in knife edge (mostly). Now my experience is that i find plnes to be more neutral with batteries above the fuselage - i did not test with the crack yak xl though so you may be absolutely ok with your battery position... But if the plane behaves weirdly in KE, try moving the battery around and you may find better position. And you may not... Sorry for the long answer! Have a nice Christmas!

    I've always flown only ready to fly planes that requires only 10 minute to assemble with few screws (from FMS), and now I want to buy and build something like in your video from RC Factory, is it very very hard? I'm really afraid to mess up since I even messed up a little when I build the planes from FMS... what do you think? should I let someone professional build it for me? I feel like I want to try it myself but I'm afraid to mess up and ruin the plane

    • @jan_spatny
      @jan_spatny  3 года назад

      Crack yak is quite complex build (for a foamie) so you may be better off letting someone else build it for you. But still you can gain some building skills by building the RCFactory Mustang or nemessis. Those are fairly easy builds and super fun to fly too.

      @@ThruJordansLens Thanks! btw the needle i use is normal orange 0,5x25mm injection needle, fixed on top of the CA bottle with heatshrink. If the CA hardens in it, just burn it out with lighter and you are good to go again. Without the needle you cant measure how much glue you are spilling where and the build will not be so clean.

    Hi there, just got one of these babies. I'm very interested in the fact you're using CA in the build (as recommended by the manual). Would UHU Por, not be a better choice, due to its more flexible nature, and tendency not to crack when under stress?

    • @jan_spatny
      @jan_spatny  2 года назад +1

      Hey, i think uhu is ok on most foam-foam joints. i would not use it on carbon-foam, where you need the connection to be rigid

    Ahoj Honzo, jestli koukám dobře, máš také serva z originál setu. Trošku bojoju s tím, že nechodí úplně dobře. Hlavně když dojedou do středu, začnou se desně klepat. Všechny táhla jsem se pokusil uvolnit, aby se zlepšil chod. Jedno originál táhlo od směrovky jsem zkusil dokonce nahradit kulovými čepy. Zlepšilo se to, ale pořád to není ono. Nesetkal jsi se s tím prosím někdy? Díky moc!

      Ahoj, to se bohužel stát může, jsou to levná serva, a tak se občas horší kus najde. Pokud se je nepodaří rozhýbat (chvilku kvrdlat na stole), nezbývá nic jinýho, než reklamace serva. Určitě prodejci pošli krátký video, reklamace je pak mnohem snazší a rychlejší.
