Hi, we are Stephen, Jess and little Hunter, a travelling family currently building a Sprinter van into their tiny home on wheels to travel around Australia.
Our first week of van life definetly wasn't what we were expecting!!
We showed you how we shower and use the bathroom - anything else you want us to show you on the road?
I know a Netflix show that u could watch it’s called clouds 9 superstore
Check my other comment for Netflix show suggestions
I feel like once your done traveling around au to go back to Wa and tour all of our amazing campsites from beaches to farms Wa is stunning for camping/glamping
I would like to see how Hunter doesn’t fall out of her bunk. Also, washing clothes, and stocking up food with so little storage space. I think an air fryer and/or a crock pot is important when you do not have an oven. You will get very tired of fried and boiled everything. People I know who have an air fryer love it!
I love that y'all have an air fryer it is a smart item to have. Make sure you fill your fresh tanks every time you can and don't let your gas get below the half way mark.
The look on Stephen's face @ 8:38 when he finds Jess eating the Jelly donut: complete shock and betrayal. But a very graceful recovery. 😂😂😂❤️
I love how high Steve's voice gets when Jess cries...and when he's shocked at how crispy the nuggets are 🤣🤣 for real, I just cooked my fish in the airfryer too. Also recommend chips! They are amazing!
That fly net was such a clever idea, Jess!
Thank you 💙💙
That was legit some MacGyver level stuff! xD
Steven asking about new Netflix show...me realizing I can’t recommend any because I’m watching Flying The Nest videos every week instead of Netflix :D
Thanks for candidly filming you mishaps. I’m Steve on the phone - “how do we fix this?” really means, “anyone there do a petrol delivery solid , please?”😂 You are still living the dream. ❤️
i would apply that filling up habbit to the water as well, especialy because there is a lot of desert going on and you never know what else can go wrong with the van. thanks for sharing !
Another tip, if you break down and need to walk to the service station, put the bonnet of the car up. People will realise you need help and pick you up.
It’s not an adventure without the crazy “mistakes”! Although it’s by far my most favorite moments! “Just a man pushing a pram, with a Jerrycan.” 💗💗💗😅
The cutest thing is that Hunter is as excited as you for adventuring through Australia
Ikr
you do not want fuel inside . get a mount on the back door and a lock for it
Sandra Westley from the UK just a tip for your travels never let your fuel tank go lower than half, we have tour Europe and learnt the lesson the hard way, we thought we would fill up at the next filling station on the Motorway, and then there was an accident and the Motorway was closed, we had about 19 miles of fuel left in the tank, with no idea where the next fuel would be, we put the vehicle in neutral as much as we could, which is not safe coasting down hill towing a trailer, we made it on fumes I think 😂😂
That's sound advice. The fumes would be awful and dangerous to you and your family if the fuel is inside the van. I have a cargo basket mounted on my van where I keep fuel, propane for my heater and stoves and some gear in waterproof/dustproof cargo bag.
I never like my tank to go below 1/2 as it drags all the crap through engine if you run it to empty ! LOL
@@robwestley7370 the engine still burns fuel to keep going while coasting, whereas if you put it in gear and let it roll downhill without touching the accelerator the engine control will entirely stop injecting fuel.
Also you don't wanna keep using the foot brake throughout an entire hill cause that way the brake will heat up and you might lose it if you exaggerate doing that. Using the engine brake is really the best way to go downhill even if the engine gets noisy.
@@flopunkt3665 Engine Braking is not going to work in Automatic Transmission vehicle. Then your gonna use your brakes or handbrake/ emergency brake.
It’s so refreshing to see a quirkier side of van life. You guys are authentic and don’t always follow the look-at-me-everything-is-perfect trend
I love that you give Hunter a "voice"
When I was a kid I went on adventures often with my grandparents. When I was about 8? I asked my grandpa as we passed a gas station "don't we need to stop for gas?" Grandpa said no, we ran out of gas 3 miles later 😂
Turns out that the fuel pump and in turn the level indicator were going bad
A man with a can in his pram. So glad the breakdown wasn't too traumatic.
It will be traumatic when the van won’t start. Diesel won’t start if empty.
@@IDarkness-_-I All made up for youtube money.
Agreed
@@IDarkness-_-I Modern diesel vehicles usually block the engine before it runs entirely empty.
your air fryer will change your life!!!! They do the best hash browns too...I'm with Jess. Air fryer in the van is genius
Best toasted sandwiches too.
Enjoy these precious times! My best memories of raising my daughter were all the wonderful camping/boating trips we took. She is now married and 28 years old and we still camp together and build new beautiful memories!
Cute, Hunter really enjoys herself, it’s so good to see.
This is one of my favorite-est vlogs from you guys so far😂 So much hilarity! Jess you're not lame for being overwhelmed with emotion! Embrace all the feels!
Loved watching your first experience with an air fryer, and running out of fuel was one of the most amusing things I've seen in a long time! I did see it on Instagram real time and it totally made my day!😂😁 Well done Steve!❤
Love the random drone scene during the fuel pram walk the passers by must of been so confused 😂
Jerry cans of fuel are a must when travelling around Aus
and water
and having a decent spare tyre and knowing how to change your tyre on your vehicle
Please make sure that it's safe to store diesel in your van before you go ahead and do it, in case of the next emergency!
Not in the van. It will not be safe to store it where you are sleeping with your baby.
you're so lucky you were close enough to walk! you should probably have some back up water as well.
Extra water CAN be kept inside the van, as opposed to extra fuel.
New show on Netflix that I really enjoyed was Sweet Tooth. (Brief intro: On a perilous adventure in a post-apocalyptic world, a boy who's half-human and half deer searches for a new beginning with a gruff protector.) May sound corny but turned out to be a cute, heartfelt show! And I love Nonso Anozie!
Thank you for sharing your family and adventures with us! You have been an inspiration to get back out there after struggling with severe depression for a few years and becoming somewhat of a hermit.
I started watching that as well!
We lived in Paraburdoo for 14 years. Great place to break down ☺️. Great to see that part of WA again!
No matter all of the mishaps, you will still remember and cherish these memories 💕
Just remember Jess this is a journey and one that we all want to watch. You are special lady and Steve you are wonderful father to Hunter and husband to Jess. I love every moment of your special journey from the United States. It's Summer here but will be Autumn in a few months. Just love love love your videos.
It's just so good that both of you just laugh it off when the caravan is out of fuel. Most people would just freak out and rant on it. Like your positivity.
Hello from Virginia, USA! I enjoyed watching your vlog as it was very entertaining. Also, I love your country. My sister has a timeshare in Coolangatta and we do all of the tourist things when we visit. I flew from Maui to Fiji where we met at her timeshare there. Then we flew into Brisbane. When I left Maui (my home at the time) it was hot and the Pacific water was warm and great to swim. I forgot our seasons are sort of reversed and when we swam in the beach waters there it was quite chilly. However, the beauty of the Gold Coast was really enchanting and enjoyable to behold. Your daughter is precious and beautiful, a real bundle of joy.
I love the adventure you are on and taking us along with you is amazing. We all have high & lows traveling but you both can laugh about it and that is Teamwork. Hunter is so lucky to have you as parents. Can’t wait to see where we go next.❤️
Thanks so much for sharing your trip across Australia!! The scuba diving with stingrays and the filming are breathtaking. Wishing you guys and Cooper the van the utmost of luck. Greetings from Berlin. We habe summer here. 😊🍀🍀🍀
i'm so happy to see you smiling no matter what is happening, that's so amazing that you don't get sad!!
A Netflix show i absolutely can’t get enough of us schitts creek!!!! It is the absolute best!!!!
Got me again with the tears Jess, I am a mess every time. Tears of gratitude, the best ones in my opinion. Greetings from the UK x
Expectation vs reality 🤣
Exactly!! I can’t imagine how rough it might be with a baby, too!
Love the fly net! I too agree with not keeping fuel inside the van, find a way to attach it outside the van, just to be extra safe. Also, (not sure if it's the same for diesel) but it's bad for the fuel pump when you run it low, so definitely always fill up whenever you can. It would be awful to get stuck somewhere and need more than just fuel!
Aww what a beautiful family vlog I’m so excited to see you guys finally starting life on the road again as a beautiful family ❤️❤️
Wow guys you’re really living an adventure!! Very true that it could have been much worse, Australia is a big country and you wouldn’t want to get stuck in the middle of the desert with no fuel, no drinkable water and not much food 😳 be safe out there!! And little Hunter, you melt my heart every time! 💕
Steve & Jess you truly are the best ! I love watching your weekly programs Jess what a great idea the air fryer was , I have laughed through out this video today keep them coming & stay safe on your journey , what a great start to life you are giving to Hunter and boy she is growing up so fast xxx
😂I didn’t tell him off, but I did say ‘yikes’ when I saw him chopping wood without proper shoes. Glad someone told him.
When I went to Australia I was amazed at all the different outhouses and bathrooms. Someone actually gave me a book that documented in pictures so many different ones. I think I still have the book. One box of books/muffin is still missing after our renovation.I need to go out to the garage to look for myself ..... if I find it I will take a picture for you.
This has to be one of my favorite videos of from you guys I was crying and laughing and Jess getting emotional .... I could feel it from here in Niagara falls NY.... Just such a special bond you are forming with your baby girl what a beautiful life She is having with beautiful parents it's just heartwarming and makes my day ❤️
I won't say too much but thank you both so much for your positivity. It really is helping through some dark times and is very much appreciated x
so glad you packed air fryer! you can make ANYTHING in that from dessert to regular meals
oh guys! Thank you so much for showing the beauty of Australia! And I really like the way you solve out "problems" together.
Flying The Nest needs to rename itself, Hunter's adventures.
What a lovely family! beautiful scenery

Love how you enjoy life ! Really cheering me up ! Best travel video on U Tube !
You vlog is something like film you never want to skip until it gets end. Love it soo much.
I adore you guys, I've been following along for a while. It's been amazing to see Steven and Jess grow up over the last 3 years I've watched, and now little Hunter. Much love!!!
The moment Jess got her emotions i love the glance that baby Hunter gave her mum aw so cute
So excited for you guys!
You guys handled running out of gas so well. Safe travels! Can’t wait for the next vlog!
OMG guys, it was sooo good watching you all in the van travelling all over. soo happy for you. And Steve walking with fuel is best thing ever...🤣🤣🤣❤❤❤
Haha, I remember that toilet stop! Literally did the Intrepid Perth to Broome trip a week or so ago!
Loved every minute of your journey. So fun. What an adventure.
I enjoy watching your videos. Love how genuine you guys are! Keep keeping it real :)
Reminds me of Nomadland (excellent movie) where Swankie says to Fern " You can die out here. You're out in the wilderness, far away from anybody. You can die out here. Don't you understand that? You have to take it seriously. You have to have a way to get help". Way to go guys, you sorted it out 💪💪💪❤️❤️
Loved this vlog guys !!! So many elements were just on point... the edits, the content, the length... loved the whole thing. I must admit, I did have a good laugh about Stephen pushing a pram with a jerry can of fuel. Imagining the truckies driving past and seeing this guy pushing a pram. Lol.
🔥🔥🔥 no matter all the little setback's it was a great video and very enjoyable content for thank you and be safe. Been with you since your travels back in the day when you were around endless Adventure and Josh&Ashley🔥🔥🔥
Love you guys, thanks for sharing. Love from Guatemala
Definitely the best videos ever ! You deserve your 1 million viewers ! Professionally. Done camera work, great couple with cutest daughter ! I’ve only seen 2 videos ! But really enjoying them ! Looking forward to traveling along with you guys !
Priceless!!! I love how you guys were not only excited about major travel but also about homeland travel! The same joy and excitement. Be careful with petrol fumes in a can in the van by the man. Fumes can be dangerous
Love this video ❤ I love how y'all reacted to your crispy chicken nuggets. We love our air fryer. Have a fun and safe journey around Australia.
what a great adventure. love little hunter, and you two are gorgeous. so realkl and natural.good pn you staying calm with the little fuel mishap. bless darling family. xx
Hunter is adorable on all your videos!
Omg so crazy you ran out of petrol!!! So lucky you weren’t further away and such a good idea to use the pram! Jess you’re so cute don’t get embarrassed when you get emotional! I’m exactly the same I just love to soak up the moment as best I can and be grateful. Totally understandable. You’ve created such an amazing life for yourselves and Hunter. Hope you have a great week xx
Oh my gosh you guys are so much fun to watch can’t wait to watch more of your videos 😍
Enjoy your van tour, I really appreciate that you guy can travel abroad. happy travel
Although the title says that they broke down in the middle of nowhere when i look at 4:49 it is so motivational seeing their smiles brighten my day
You guys are one of my favourite youtubers
Watch Kara and Nate's van adventures! They've done it last year (since they cannot travel by plane due to the pandemic) around the US. You have the same type of van but theirs has a bathroom. They also had their ups and downs of van life but pulled through and reached their goal. They are back to travelling by plane now.
Planning on doing this soon!
😍nice to see you guys again ! Great landscapes ! Regards guys !
Love to see little Hunter again ☺️
I cried way to much watching hunter and daddy 😩 miss you so much x
They always have the best music in their videos!
Can't wait for you to get to the Sunshine Coast/Brisbane!!
Important lesson learnt, could have been a lot worse. Stay safe the three of you
Cutest thing to see Jess using an fryer
So crispy lol 😆 love the drone shots
YAAAY welcome to VANLIFE AUS!! KEEN to see you guys 🌈💫🚐 Yep so many things to adjust tooooo!! Hahah awesome video 👏🏽
I just love the song selection you guys put in the videos. This is some really good taste in music.
Heartland... 14 seasons of clean family entertainment...
Lovely footage
Although the fuel was expensive take a moment to be grateful that someone put in the facility and thankful that you could get fuel in the middle of no-where ... cheers lovely to see your journey and more remote parts of Australia
You guys are the coolest heads even in adversity. ❣️🙌
I really like how you two converse sensibly to Hunter. That’s the way she will learn to talk. No baby words.
We say petrol here in Melbourne. Petrol station. It’s good to know we are united in our differences.
Love your life guys.
Waking up on my birthday on the day we get released from lockdown in Perth. Having a coffee and watching my 2 favourite Aussies. Safe travels guys from Neil the Welshman
Oh wow newbies for sure, but you’re very lucky you were that close! Great content, fun to watch someone else figuring this life out. Blessings 🌸
Shock face of baby hunter is so cute ❤️❤️
Jess we love your shirt! Air fryer brilliant idea! Awesome drone shots and great video! Walking with the gas can in the stroller priceless! 🤣~Cara 😊

Ozark, giri/haji, spinning out, sense 8, the trail of the Chicago 7, unbelievable, the queen's gambit ---- Netflix shows
Wow am excited to see this video. Love u guys keep up the great videos
Steve you're not the first to have an air fryer. Foresty Forest (a Canadian) has one. What he fixes is quite inspiring! Jess will figure it out.
Love how you ran out of fuel as I think everyone has a story like this.. when my parents took us around Australia in a bus my dad was so excited that he forgot to fuel up so we stopped 10km out of our town. Lucky we were towing a car and got fuel out of it.. lesson learned. Love seing your videos so real and raw and your travelling with a baby.
I love the soundtrack on your vlogs!
Looks like Lots of Fun!!!
I'm in USA & many travel cross country via RV, Van, Car to Camp sites for Hook ups, Shower & Toilets but I've got to say
WOW!!! So Cool, You guys have toilets spread out along roads, location spots & everywhere that's just amazing, lucky & convenient to have, I need to move to Australia..... Oh! My! Gosh! Hunter is Darn Cute, Happy & doing Great on the Road... It's cool how you guys pull over & step out amidst Beautiful open space, land, sky & sunshine ... My grandson just turn 4 & he loves playing outdoors! Hunter is a joy to see, many hugs & kisses for her, Jaxon, my grandson would have a blast playing outside with her too!
Have fun you guys💯
Thanks for finally bringing a funny vanlife channel to me. Keep it funny, keep it real.
I’ll keep a eye out for when you make it to the Gold Coast, would be great to catch up for family vanlife 🤙
