    Craig, I dig the way you surf like a regular guy looking good! Nice reviews too, wish we had Australia waves here on east coast US though. Keep it up.

      Thans mate! That's the point, I'm not trying to rip it up in these videos, just try link a few different turns and do surfing that most people can relate to, in average/fun waves that most people probably surf locally! I've never surfed East Coast U.S, and definitely heard mixed reviews! But we're in the middle of a pretty lengthy flat spell here... So it ain't all good! haha!

    Cheers Craig! Looks like a good wave board, draws out some good lines..! Heaps of drive off the bottom on a coupla waves there mate!

    Second board ive bought after watching your reviews.. Keep them coming mate!!

      Stoked you're enjoying the reviews and they are helping with your board purchase decisions, there's so many good boards out there!
      This would be a great board for a trip where there's solid 3ft+ waves!
      Good luck!

    Craig how does this compare to a Ghost? Have you ridden one or heard through the gape vine about the differences? I need for head and a half to DOH but not very hollow waves.
    Thanks brother

      Yes i am also split between this and the ghost. Sabotaj would be in 5'6, ghost in 5'8.

    Hey Craig
    Great review again mate can you compare against the Beach Buggy 2 & SaboTaj for sizing, would you go longer than the BB2? The web says run it an inch sorter. How’s it paddle compared to the BB2? Guessing this board handles more push but the BB2 better in beachies?
    Thanks heaps🤙

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  5 лет назад +1

      Trevor Hocking hey! Have you watched our BB2 review?
      I’d get it the same size as the BB2 if you want an all rounder, or go up an inch or two if you want more of a step-up for bigger and better waves. I’ve actually reordered this an inch longer, and a tad thicker at 2.5 for bigger and better waves. Should sit at around 31/31.5L and be great for a few local slabs/reefs.

    Hey Craig, what tail pad is that on your Sabotaj?
    I just picked one up and with such a narrow tail, found it tricky to place the usual pad I like right up against the leash plug (without it hanging off the sides). I placed it the other day and its about 2-2.5cm forward of the plug...my back foot, when up against the tail block, is still over about 80-90% of the trailing fin box, from top to bottom of the box...wondering if this might be an issue and make my turns a little less crisp? Was going to try and see...and if I end up replacing the tail pad, would love to know what worked for you. Thanks.

    What would be a good short board for 2-4 foot waves then. Like Southern California Waves, channel islands or lost boards

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  5 лет назад +2

      Hey! Either C.I or Lost make great boards for Californian waves! Maybe check out from C.I the Rocket Wide, the O.G Flyer or the Neckbeard 2. From Lost, maybe the HP Puddle Jumper, Uber Driver or the Sub Driver!

    6'2.5" 165 lbs
    Currently been riding a 6'6 epoxy step up like 38l rlly easy to paddle but rails a big thick and hard to drive. In Oahu.
    Looking at 6'2 33 as a daily driver for working on my snaps etc. But also for hollow overhead surf...What do you think man?? It's hard to pick boards when you are tall but skinny. I'm confident in big surf good paddler capable duck diver but standing up I'm pretty stiff and tend to ride a bit too far out on front of the peak so my turns are weak mostly wraps

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  2 года назад

      Hey! Have you had a chance to pick one up?
      If you are 6’2.5, then I’d probably look at 6’4, especially if you’ve been riding 38L ✌️

    Hi Craig, I live in Indo where our everyday waves are good. I'm looking for a board to surf my home break in Canggu from 3 to 5 ft. Does this board work for Indo average waves or does it needs bigger waves? Because the 5’8 comes with the right volume for me, which is short for good Indo waves... Cheers

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  4 года назад +1

      Hey mate!
      I think this would be a really good Bali/Indo board, even on like 2ft high tide Legian rip bowls i could see myself surfing this!
      But something that performs at both Canggu and Uluwatu, this is the board!

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  6 лет назад +1

      C Oleary hey! It was pretty tight to turn, so I don’t know you’d want to add channels... and a swallow, why not! If you do get one I’d love to see it! Share it with me on Instagram! I’d be psyched to see what it looks like, and how it goes! 🤙

    • @coleary1216
      @coleary1216 6 лет назад +1

      @thesurfboardguid Will do bro! Thanks for the advice! Thinking of getting it glassed a bit heavy like my 6’4” retro ripper so it can handle bigger waves then it’s really meant for as well. If you go to wisesurfboards instagram I have the blue tinted one. Think the Sabotaj would sit great under it as a step up shorty that still rips 🤙🏽

    Hi Craig, would you recommend this board for punchy, hollow beach breaks in the chest high range? And do you think it would go well with the kolohe Andino fins?

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  5 лет назад +1

      Carlos Ramos hey! If it’s punchy and hollow, and shoulder high +, then this would be epic!
      I didn’t have the KA fin when I rode this board, but I do now and it’s one of my favourites by FCS so I reckon it’d be perfect!

  • @jeffsuh

    hey craig!
    i'm thinking about this board as my step-up board for a surf trip to Namotu Fiji. i'm a intermediate + surfer that usually rides 32-33L shortboards. (which would be a 6'1 or 6'2) What would you recommend for me for more powerful head high + ? would this board be too floaty at 6'4 (35.3L)
    thanks for the awesome reviews! - Jeff

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  5 лет назад

      Hey! If you get a chance to go pick one up under your arm and have a feel that would be great to get an idea of size. Otherwise, I wouldn't go too big as the volume under chest allows the board to paddle well, and if you are surfing waves only up to around 6ft, i'd say maybe the 6'3 would be the go!
      I also saw on the weekend a "El Patron" and it looks like a more user friendly Sabotaj, i haven't ridden one, but could be worth checking out too...
