Did you have to cut the CRF exhaust for it to fit ? Also can you cruise at 55 without it seeming absolutely topped out now with the sprocket I’d like to be able to go 55-58 with it being 80-90% throttle not all the way , I just picked one up locally this week
only thing you have to do to the exhaust is drill out the mounting holes for the exhaust studs to a half inch drill bit, and 55 cruising is easy after you do the sprockets.
off the top of my head, I know motopartsmax.com has a wide variety of parts with a decent price for Chinese bikes. but honestly, you can't beat Amazon deals. especially for stuff like switches and handlebars, but with handlebars I would get a good one like pro taper and you won't ever have to replace it again!

Hey X Moto, I ordered the ox 30mm carb and the jets. I put a 110 in the carb and I’m curious if there are any other adjustments I need to do to the carb? 👍
It really depends on your elevation, but a 110 main is always a good start! Pilot should be fine just adjust your idle and air fuel screw if needed. You should be pretty good to go!!
@@xmoto7377 thank you, 2 turns out on the air fuel fuel screw and 110 jet installed. Paired with the spark plug you suggested, it starts much easier and the engine seems a lil more robust! I hope to post some vids soon to share my progress

Saving to get the TaoTao and I am very exited but I wanted to ask. It is street legal everywhere except California where I live and I am wondering what prevents it from being street legal, is it something I can change to get it approved? Anybody with answers it would help.
hmmm that is a good question, i believe it is because of emissions. i Do believe the Hawk DLX (fuel injected model) is 50 state legal but if i were you i would contact TxPowersports and ask which models are legal in CA. Hope this helps
Everyone says to use rotella because is a good cheap oil that is wet clutch rated, also rotella is usually a little thicker so it's safer for engines that runs hotter. Mobile 1 is also a good oil to use, it really comes down to personal preference, you just don't want to run too thick, or too thin of oil!
Izuku Midoriya I have seen Atleast one person fit TBR7 plastics on a hawk, so I don't see why they are not interchangeable. But these are the stock plastics that came on the bike! I just took the stickers off!
High tall does it stand? I mean what is the Hight of seat? I'm only 5' 7. Would I be tall enough to sit flat footed? Thats the only thing holding me back from buying one right now.
I never measured the exact size but I am 6" and I have some bend in the knees on the ground, the TBR7 has an adjustable shock too so you can lower it more!
Stiffer springs I do not know of, but the best thing to do is replace the 10 weight fork oil with 15 weight oil, and use PVC pipe to create bigger spacers in the forks and that will stiffen it up pretty good!
Really good question Tony! Off the top of my head I sadly do not know of any bolt on replacements. However I am aware that the new hawk DLX and bashan brozz 250 have beefier upside down forks much like modern dirt bikes. But since their diameter is larger I can imagine you would need the triple clamps as well. I'll do some more digging around for ya and if I find anything I'll get back to you!

The 17 front, 43 tooth rear is the perfect combo for both street and off-road!
Hey I have a video I just recorded where I raced a DRZ 400 and a grom 125, your comment is perfect timing 😂, I won't make ya wait for the results, I blew the grom out of the water just as bad as the drz beat me. Stock groms are slower than stock hawks/tbr7s. However you can swap a zs190 motor in a grom clone and do like 85 mph for 1/4 the price of a grom. But if you want a full size starter bike I highly recommend the TBR7
Robby Clark it's virtually the same bike, only difference is the rims, tires, and the TBR7 has different sprockets. You still need to do some minimum mods like oil change right away and tighten all the bolts
also these initial mods are not to make it run, the TBR7 runs right out of the box, these are things i recommend doing right away to keep stuff from going wrong and overall having a better experience with the bike. its more reliable after those mods stated, and same goes with the hawk.

Some advice on the turn signal, there is no need to cut the wires on the relay. You can stuff foam or even ductape the opening of the relay to muffle the beeping noise to the point where you can barely hear it BUT you and only you can barely hear it meaning, its just slight enough to keep you in check so you don't leave it on while riding (which we all have done )
@@Daltonleach11 its not super loud, but when you get on it its decently loud but if your just cruising it can be pretty quiet. you can reference one of my other videos if you want to hear it
Dylan Saucida right now I have a 17 front 40 rear, good for cruising at 50 mph but if you don't have the supporting performance mods I don't recommend going that low on the rear. 17 front 42 rear is perfect for more daily street use with mild mods.

Dylan Saucida oh wow that's a VERY tall gear I bet you can actually do highway riding easy with that and honestly I'm suprised that it can reach 71 with that gear, I could only reach 70 with a 17 front 42 tooth rear, and with the 17 front 40 rear my top speed has definitely gone up a bit 😅 but that's for another video in the near future
X do you have any links for your 42 tooth rear sprocket and the exhaust? Did the exhaust give you any hassles bolting on? - the aftermarkets can be rough sometimes.
yea let me dig through my old emails and get you a link, and the exhaust will give you some hassles, you can either bend it slightly, or do what i did and add an extra piece of pipe right before the muffler, to get it to line up with the stock mounting location.
Asking around and doing a bit more research and looks like 44 tooth rear may be a better option to not lose too much torque. Getting mixed reports on 42 tooth rear.
@@totalnoobfishing1753 all depends but yes a 44 would be better for torque, i got the 42 since i will be doing alot of cruising at 50 mph and i like having a lower RPM. plus i am doing alot of power mods so it should pick back up after all my mods.

@@xmoto7377 it's 55 around me, and the back roads are mostly 35-45, But if it can be upgraded to the mid 70s with a little work I still think it's viable for short trips on the highway even at 65, maybe no longer then 30 minutes at a time but enough none the less, obviously if you can only go 75 and that's the speed limit I think it's not a great option because everyone is already going over to start with and being completely pegged at WOT seems like it wouldn't be the best idea (granted if you've seen bikes and bears videos on a few bikes with the same motor, looks like even if you run it with zero oil for a bit it won't right up and die)

Ok, what’s an inexpensive source for parts? Such as handle bar switches, handlebars? Thank you again dude!
off the top of my head, I know motopartsmax.com has a wide variety of parts with a decent price for Chinese bikes. but honestly, you can't beat Amazon deals. especially for stuff like switches and handlebars, but with handlebars I would get a good one like pro taper and you won't ever have to replace it again!

hey so where did you get your electric gauge cluster from?
So true
why does everyone say to use T4 15w-40 Rotella or Mobile 1? Will both work and which works better?
Everyone says to use rotella because is a good cheap oil that is wet clutch rated, also rotella is usually a little thicker so it's safer for engines that runs hotter. Mobile 1 is also a good oil to use, it really comes down to personal preference, you just don't want to run too thick, or too thin of oil!
What kind of body kit did you use? or does the hawk 250cc plastic body kit fit for the tao tao tbr7?

@@ddwddw4115 no problem!! Any other questions just ask!!
What about the hawk? I hear it’s just as reliable and upgradable and doesn’t need all these initial mod just to make it run straight out of the box?
Robby Clark it's virtually the same bike, only difference is the rims, tires, and the TBR7 has different sprockets. You still need to do some minimum mods like oil change right away and tighten all the bolts
also these initial mods are not to make it run, the TBR7 runs right out of the box, these are things i recommend doing right away to keep stuff from going wrong and overall having a better experience with the bike. its more reliable after those mods stated, and same goes with the hawk.
X Moto I definitely like the tires better on the TBR7
Robby Clark I agree with ya, the knobbies on the hawk are not very comfortable on the road. But if you go off-road more hawk tires are nice

X Moto ok good cause it’s annoying thanks
@@MrRanbo004 i agree, if they would have made it a slight clicking noise that would have been better than the god awful beeping...
Jusf turn the signal on , find the beep box, pop it open with a screwdriver and snip a wire. I choose the blue one however i doubt it matters
