First let me say that Russia is a complex society to live in for any person. As a Canadian I can relate to the journey that you have undertaken as it is not easy to be true to your own self; yet that is what you have done. All the jobs that you have held have prepared you to grow as a person and woman in order to carve out your own niche in life. I wish you well as you have chosen to branch out into your business model. My view of you is that you are a creative, strong, independent lady that would not have been satisfied sitting in a marriage of convenience. Your happiness is achieving your life goals and growing into your knowledge as a lady and person. When and if you find love it will add to the life that you are now building, and not be the end all and be all destination. As an introvert and Christian man I have lived an independent life , and have no regrets. Lastly, I applaud you for all your thoughtfulness and courage in your life choices. Also, not all women start out as beautiful in youth, but are late bloomers and that is what you have become. God bless you Natasha, and hope to hear more about your progress.

Some people only have dreams, but you have a story-complete with a beginning, a middle, and an end. Cherish that. The harder the story, the more valuable it becomes, and the more enjoyable it is to tell. That’s why you should be grateful for the ups and downs in your life that have shaped you into who you are today. Wishing you all the best!

It is very interesting to hear about your experiences in journalism. I agree about politics being a trying subject. It's something that both you and I wish to stay from. I sometimes watch Al Jazeera's English channel and think that the journalists there must have a very difficult job. I can see how they must feel diecouraged at times reporting on such depressing things from day to day, but they continue, feeling I guess that the work must be done and they are dedicated professionals. It's not a job I would want.
Stories about your life experiences are always interesting to see. Best wishes. Take care.

  • @Badtaste21
    @Badtaste21 4 дня назад

Yeah, I feel the same way about art. If it's something that not everyone can do, where you can see how much skill it must have taken to make it look as realistic as possible, or if it's so detailed that you can look at it for hours and still discover new little details, that's art.
About relationships... It's always good to be independent, both financially and emotionally. Because you never know what will happen. But of course it is easier if you can rely on a partner when things go wrong. Finding a loyal, loving and reliable partner is hard though. Because in my experience most people (women in my case, but I think it's similar with men) nowadays will tell you what they want, what their expectations are and what they don't like. They talk about kids and marriage, or have kids before they really know each other. But they never talk about what it really means to be together, how serious it is... I'm not sure if most people even know what love is, or if they just succumb to lust and desire and think that's love because they never experienced anything else.

There is nothing more attractive than a smart, driven lady. That is very obvious with you. I think it is wonderful that you have a entrepreneurial spirit. When starting a business, there will be times that you fail. It's just part of your evolution. If you look at famous athletes, like in American Baseball player as an example. A great hitter is someone who hits for an average of .300, but the other 70% of his at-bats, he either strikes out or hits into an out. Just keep working hard at your dreams, and you will build upon those successes to turn your hard work into something you can be very proud of.

You've had pretty amazing jobs. About modern art, anything from Jackson Pollock and similar is a "no thanks" for me. Impressionist paintings like those from Leonid Afremov are nice, and impressionist sculpture is superb. But in general I prefer a more "concrete" depiction of shapes and subjects regardless of the style.

My wife worked in the travel industry her whole life in one capacity or another. She seldom worked in an office and mostly worked at home. She wore many hats having 2 daughters there with her most of the time. We shared everything and my earnings went into the pot just like hers did. She was very good with money and even though there were tough times my girls always had what they needed. Looking back after 33 years together I am the luckiest man alive from where I am standing. I do believe women should find their own ways in life and can even do it with family involved. Think about it, how many hats does a mother wear?

Looking at my female fellows 30+ or 40+ age, I would say that the main issue for a business woman in Russia is that she grew up in patriarchy society and usually seek for a stronger man being a strong enough woman. So far I saw a single success story where 2 strong people married very early around 22 y.o. and went through a huge number of family conflicts, but still together.
    All other cases are:
    1. Permanently single woman, sometimes with a child made by choise
    2. Strong woman trying to be weak in a toxic relationships for some times and breaks it finally. (because normal man usually afraid of stronger woman and only toxics don't care)
    3. Strong woman married with a weak man forming a matriarchy family
Maybe you need to find a place with a bigger concentration of stronger men. Moscow maybe? Or St. Petersburg.
Anyway, the older you are the harder for you to accept another man next to you. You need to fall in love with somebody to force you change your habits. And sometimes you need to change too much and your love is not enough. It means you need to fall in love with another man who will be closer to you initially and love you more to change his habits.

I’m married to my wife since 43 years, we grew up 6 children and I love her more than in the beginning. My wife never worked she was always at home and took care of the children and was job hunting in Germany 🇩🇪 for the last part of my life and drove about 2,000,000 km from home to my working place to be able to pay the bills 💵. But even if the Lord gives you the best husband it is still good to have saved something for your old age. The prices are increasing everywhere and we will struggle to make the ends meet. Nowadays every country invests in the army and in weapons which are practically of no use in normal life, this fact is based on human stupidity which in the end will lead to our extinction here on Earth 🌏. Putin, who in my opinion is Hitler 2.0, started a war and no one knows how it will end. May the Lord bless and protect you.

Hello Natasha. Regular Russians and Americans have the same struggles. Here, the oligarchy call the shots. We pay high food prices, big corporations buy grocery chains, there’s less competition. They make more money and to top it off they will get a tax cut. Just today I was looking for another internet provider, since they raised the price to $85 for mediocre “Cable Internet” it’s not even fiber. But there is no other provider in my area, so I’m stuck. And Healthcare sucks in America if you don’t have health insurance, which is also very expensive. We have to hustle to get by. I wish I pay $0 in income tax, just like the wealthiest Americans.

I must say that I admire somebody that has a dream and is prepared to work hard to achieve it. How could anyone criticize that?
The idea that within your lifetime Natasha, you were being encouraged to forget a career, just find a husband, become a housewife and raise kids seems so ancient, like something from the 1970s or before. Russia (in fact any country) needs talented, capable young people, be they men or women - including journalists who find the truth (where that is still allowed by The Regime) and make it available to other people are especially important. Of course with her aging demographics Russia also needs children. The trick is to be able to do both. It's hard for women...
    02:30:
    "... I don't like contemporary art ..."
Me neither. Maybe one has to be trained to understand the meaning and context of it, but I never studied art. I find much of it confusing or like a bizarre experiment with shapes and colours that others have designated "important". Another personal failing?
    05:18:
"... politics is a very dirty thing..."
Agreed. However in those countries where people's votes really can change the direction of government, it is vital that they are able to be well informed of the successes and failures of governments and whether wonderful sounding promises offered by all parties at election time can be believed.
Here in Canada, political parties will say or do anything to gain or maintain power. If they win, they can use the public purse to try and implement their promises or to pretend they were successful when they actually failed. If they lose, nobody remembers what they promised anyway.
Multiple sources of good journalism is vital so people can be sure that their interests and values are respected when the business of government is being done and also that political corruption is exposed and justice seen to have been done.
However unlike Russia AFAIK no journalists here are risking jail or state violence by reporting the frequently unflattering truth about their governments. Not yet, anyway.

So sorry to hear you were scammed by your employer.
Yes, enforceable contracts are essential but I guess when you are starting out you have to grab what opportunities you can find. That sometimes means having to take risks.
    08:21:
    "... my English isn't perfect..."
Your English sounds pretty good to me! Many native English speakers do not speak it "perfectly".
You have a great foundation on which to build your written English to a publishing standard - especially given the support of spelling and grammar checkers many native English speakers use . Don't give up on that Natasha!
    12:00:
"... I think that intelligent men like intelligent women ..."
    That's been my experience.
It's the insecure guys who look for women who don't intimidate them and become emotionally dependent upon them. This often does not work out too well.
IMHO a couple should be a partnership of equals who often have complimentary strengths. I don't think it should be an old fashioned hierarchy where the man is the boss and the woman is the junior partner. Here at least, for the most part those days are over. A good relationship is one where each partner helps the other to grow. My wife and I have managed to succeed at that.
Take care and stay safe Natasha. 🇨🇦

I don't know Russia. Had little interest bec I come from both Asia and US and have never seen anything made, produced or exported from Russia like cellphones, cars, computers, clothes. I have no idea what Russia makes or know Russian companies or brands that impact our life in our part of the world. But in Asia where I studied, the government and politicians was very corrupt. The economy was bad. The local currency also is bad. It fall below dollar year after year. I left and migrate to the US because I think if I stayed I will just grow old and poor. If you know how to get rich and have what it takes, then stay and get rich in Russia there. But if you know, there's no hope or chance, then get out and get rich somewhere else. I came to America with nothing after college and first job paid $6 per hour (just $1 over minimum wage). I never make a big salary, but after 20 years in my last company I finally have a million dollars. After 3 years only, a company grow it to $2 million for me. Maybe next Christmas it will be $3 million. The money comes from US stock market which has the best companies and brands on earth. I'm not rich in America because of inflation, so I plan to fly back to my old country that I left and I can now live there and not work or worry about a job or money. Our worry in life was getting old and losing our jobs. It happened to me. In our short life you want a pension, social security, a fully paid house, and a nice fat US dollar account managed by very smart people.

That’s so funny, your comments about “contemporary” art. I publish an art magazine (in print) in New York, which hailed as the center of the art world, and just a few nights ago I was out visiting gallery opening in Chelsea (one of the major art districts here.
And I told my friend, it’s nice to see all these people looking at art, enjoying themselves. But the art itself is awful! It all looks alike.
I think this is because they are not really selling art, rather the art object is just a vehicle for transferring money around the world.
Someone says I need to move, for example, $500,000 cash from New York to London. They cannot carry it on the plane, so a “collector” from London pays a New York gallery $500,000 for a work of art. It might even be a banana!
That art object is sent to London, and then as per agreed in some prearranged secrete deal, the art object is turned back into $500,000 in London. All concerned parties involved in the transaction take their fees. No questions asked. Easy.
This is why the art you see in art galleries today really has little to nothing to do with art. It’s all about the transaction. Unfortunately we start to see this in art museums as well.
I think people stopped making art 1914, when the world went crazy.

It's ok to lose everything when you are young. When you're young, you have the time to learn and gain the experiences from the bad decisions. You can't do that when you are older. Hopefully after then war, Russia will be better and act more responsibly then all the good Russian people can prosper.

Would that be like US & NATO's illegal invasions and wars in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Afghanistan?(Undisputed) Or about how they illegally financed and supported a coup in Ukraine. By the way, Russia is not involved in an illegal war in Ukraine. It is according to international law, and the UN a military intervention because the autonomous region of Donbas formerly requested military intervention from Russia due to aggression from Kiev which is recognized by international law as state terrorism! These are facts (Regardless of any founded or unfounded bias)

I liked this video. I also liked the serious young journalist I saw in your pictures. It's a pity you no longer write articles on political topics. I mean, it would be nice to know how Russians see their world and what are their fears and hopes.
You asked about what kind of material you should offer to the public. During the Enlightenment (you know that stuff in 18th century) there were people who thought it would be important to improve people's understanding of their lives, their society and the world. They believed that if people were more enlightened, they would more often follow their reason instead of mere tradition, fashion or common beliefs. The Enlightment would lead, or so they hoped, to a world without poverty, hunger, pandemics, crime and especially war. At that time, the powerful (i.e. filthy rich) people used their wealth only for their own pleasure and entertainment. More money was spent on just one dinner party than dozens of poor families earned over many years.
According to an elightened mind, mere entertainment led wealthy people to spend their money on all kinds of luxuries. They sought the good life through false pleasures. That is why some Enlightenment thinkers coined the term "useful entertainment". The idea then was not only to entertain people but also to develop taste, character and understanding. This may sound silly, but this is exactly the kind of content I want to find on RUclips. If I see that a channel is just trying to get me hooked, I stop following it.
Your visits to local markets and your life stories are examples of useful entertainment, because they help to better understand other people, in this case the Russian way of thinking and living. A couple of days ago, I happened to see a video in which the BBC journalist gave a short review on articles in a couple of Russian newspapers (one of them was Argumenti i Facti). It was really interesting.
As a Finn I hate this Americanism "God bless you". I know it was sarcasm - at least I hope so - but nevertheless that phrase makes my sugar levels rise. It might have been a sarcastic remark - at least I hope it was - but even so, that saying makes my sugar levels rise. It's so sappy!

I am sure if you would have married a rich husband at young age, you would not have turned out to be the strong woman you are now. It might have been easier to marry a rich guy, but would you really have been happy? Also, if at some point it wouldn't work out, you would be helpless. Be happy what you have become, an independant, intelligent and strong woman who can be and do whatever she wants. I wish you all the success in life you can dream of, Nastasha!

I see that rather as information, not entertainment, but I do understand the use of the term entertainment. Having said that, I would say your approach is a very smart one in many aspects. It is a winning strategy for your career, no doubt about it.
