Might be a stretch, or maybe obvious, but I just noticed Lin’s first team correlates with characters that were killed in the story: Ninetales - Amethyst Garchamp - Solaris Delphox - Ace Gardevoir - herself Conkeldurr - Samson
Eve already noted that Team Meteor already has Pulse2 before we raided Labradora. Other than minimalist and portable enhancement (31 IV and 252 EV on all stats), it also allows them to steal and control other trainer's pokemons

If you had never met Ace in the main story, because you had updated from EP18, she'll have Cain's Primarina instead.
