Hey Bro! Since you said extra nerd out together! I leave this comment on this video as well. 😛 It was so weird, I had 16 aquariums at the time they launched the vibrabites, not a single fish liked it. Not even my yellowlabs or Oranda and Ryukin that eat anything liked them. I started working long distance from my aquariums, so it took a while to realise. but I had 50 colnian yetras in a hyeavily planted 70 Gallon. They were not fry, but 25% from adults in size. They had the vibra vite in their autofeeder. They choke on it, every fish got used to have it quiet, so all of them except my Fahaka and Goldfish went into hiding when I came home from 5 days away, or 6-8 days away. Slowly until I had like 23 of my 50 colobiantetras, I changed the food to a general fry pellet that some breeder friends develps them self. No more dying of the Colombian Tetras. And it was really hard to get rid of the huge bag. I was lycky that I bred Giant Colombian Ramshornslails for my 1 feet Fahaka, they ate it. But they also ate triming from pothos plant, all dead fish, everything besides tomato and potato. Oh, nor raw onion, but shives and leek. they ate fresh. Long story about vibrabites, sorry. But it feels like you like long weird fish stories. That is why you know so much. That thing I should have thought about with my amazon puffers still impreses me, so simple. I tried everything with repashy, but not that! I had already sold them, buy you showed in your video that it works so... Can ypu do a long video about the most common freshwater puffers, like the top 15 we need now. They are poplar then ever, and every youtuber says the best things about you, so people will listen. And finally, I have been looking for a super red Mirius Puffer forever, is it a myth? did someone make one in photo shop or where the hell are they? Another interesting though I just had, I wonder if I could keep multis shelldwellers with like 6 Avocado puffers? They must realise that those huge escargot shells are not for them? And how fast would you rate their beeks. I say Amazon is easy number 1 (without counting palembangensis or baileyi (lurkers), I think Figure 8 grows very slow. like an 6 if 10 are the slowest. Fahaka would be nr 4. Where is The extremly expensive ones Shouldenti or something, I always forget their names, to expensive, and Avocado Puffers? Beek speed growth. Sorry for the long comment, but the algorithm loves this stuff, especially if you answer. Take you time though. I know you are a busy man. Have a good one fellow Fishlover
Four, The are perfect for small puffers...from Pea Puffers on up they are a great choice. They stay well under 1/4 of an inch...roughly brineshrimp size.
Yes to what Max said. And the scuds have a way of appearing even when you think they have all been eaten. The only way I know of for sure to get rid of them without tearing the tank down completely is Dimilin. However, Dimilin will kill shrimp as well so...
hey Dan any tips on their teeth,i feed them snails, shrimp, grindal, frozen food but they still grow to an mazing size,rn i'm clipping them with cuticle clippers but i like some pointers on that,i heard somewhere about putting rocks in the aquarium but idk what kind pls help with any tips you can
Hello Dani, I've never trimmed a puffers teeth in my life, so I'm afraid I can't help you. I feed lots of snails and such and, so far, have never had a problem with overgrown teeth. I wish I knew more so I could help you.
*****Please answer!I ordered 100 scuds from eBay... not familiar with this but I have not seen my amazon puffer eat in 2 weeks! He ignores everything & mostly just surfs the walls.. I have tried everything I knew of until I saw this video so thank you. Just placed an order... how do I keep them? And do they reproduce at all? How many should go In tank! Trying desperately hard to keep this little guy alive! With no pet shop or fish stores in my small town I get a bit crazed with driving an hour for him only to completely ignore my blood worms, brine shrimp, freezer dried blood worms, brine shrimp flakes &!pellets... algae wafers.... this is the only puffer I have seen behave this way. You invite comments & questions.. help a girl out! Thank you 🙏
Jennifer, I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with your puffer. I see you found the video on scuds, so I'll move onto other things. If you can get a bunch of live snails, it might be helpful...puffers can't resist snails. Lots of folks have pond snails and ramshorn snails in their tanks and are happy to get rid of them since they see them as pests. Live blackworm (fresh, healthy ones) have always worked well for me...they might help you out too.
Hello Crowntail, I don't use medicated foods. I think they are probably great, but I treat so many fish I prefer to just dose the water column. If I had less fish, I would probalby use medicated foods. Lots of folks have been asking about quarantine, so I am working on a vid about it with this next shipment. It will take a couple of weeks to make, but I hope it is useful when it comes out.
You can purchase scuds online, but they are very expensive. I think the only way to have enough to feed regularly is to grow them yourself. Here's how I do it: ruclips.net/video/rJiXWrpH22U/видео.html
These fish are missunderstood, nothing like the other small ones, the Amazons are used to the AMAZONAS! I once saw a video, never found it again, a tank atlest 7 feat long easily 4o inches tall and 30 inges front to back. They were huge!!!! Like atleast 4 inches, just 8 of them and like 20 Discus and some plecos. They were swimming back and fourth just as they do, but much more calm when they had 7 feet. Rvrybodys problem with this fish comes from, it want a "HUGE" tank. That is my Puffer lover Theory atleast.
Enjoying your videos on Amazon puffers. I have 5 pufffers and your videos have been very helpful

What a great video. Scuds are amazing food. They make the fish work to eat.
Four, The are perfect for small puffers...from Pea Puffers on up they are a great choice. They stay well under 1/4 of an inch...roughly brineshrimp size.
Good for pea puffers too?
Did you give any treatments
Yes indeed. You can see the treatment process here: ruclips.net/video/zhcPY1ZrTKo/видео.html
Puffers don't look too bad. Great job on healing them up. Congrats and thanks for sharing. Cheers. p.s. FIRST
They are clearing up. Another couple of weeks or so and they should be right as rain...however right rain is. Why do we say that anyway?
@@DansFish - We? Just you and Forrest Gump say that. Ha Ha Ha.
they are really going to town on those scuds!
Top speed for scuds!
Im so tempted to put my amazon puffer in my shrimp tank to cleanup the scuds, but he'll probably eat my shrimp too.
No probably about it and it'll probably eat them first they are easier to catch.

@@DansFish im ordering demilin
It will last you FOREVER! I believe something like 1/4 teaspoon treats 75 gallons.
It's fun seeing a bunch of them chow down.
Wanna see a puffer really move...put in some scuds!
my bettas love scuds. do you know what other fish like scuds too?
Every fish I have ever kept that is big enough to eat scuds go crazy for them.

thank you for the video. once you get them trained on blood worms you can trick them in to eating vibra bites too.
Such cuties!!
Granny!!!!! Great to hear from you.
Interesting fish, very nice.
Thanks, as always, Brantov.

Abu...always great to hear from you!
can you please talk about the meds you use and if you used them together or not ?
I will do a complete video on treating the puffers once they are fully recovered.
@@DansFish will you be selling these guys once they are better ?
Yes. Once they are fattened up and ready to go, they will be available here: getgills.com/store.product/Dans_Fish
Could you do a video on your quarantine process and meds used? Also do you make medicated fishfoods? If yes what's ingredients and process used.

Haven't ever tried scuds with my amazon puffers. Sure they would go crazy on them. "In my custody...." = Felons? Thanks for the update Dan!
Its those stripes on the puffers that does it...
you don't sell Scud correct?
I do sell scuds when I have enough but, with all these puffers, I'm done selling for a bit because I want to make sure I can keep the puffers happy.
