    Hello. We booked ahead as well. We were pushing a large bag forward every day and we had to know where to send it. We did 15 km the first few days, it was enough for us. Great capture. Keep inspiring.

    Thank you! I’ve just finished binge watching your two video series from Le Puy to Santiago de Compostelle. I will be attempting to walk these later this year with either the Cele Valley or Rocamadour variants. Could I ask you what backpacks you used and what you were wearing for foot wear? Wearing your poncho while doing your laundry was genius 😂

      I was using the Osprey 48l and Shannon was using the Deutor 30l. I have since downsized to the Gregory 35l. I wear the Altra Paradigm runner. I really like the built in stabilizer and Shannon wears Brooks adrenaline. Blisters can be the worst so if I could suggest, check out the Armaskin socks. We have been wearing them since our first Camino and we have not had a single blister. Buen Camino

      Thank you. We’re Currently on day 7 but my iMovie app on my iPhone won’t export files anymore. I’ll continue the posts as soon as we finish and get home. It is a beautiful hike through this part of France.

    Hi, first of all congratulations for having walked the Via Podienses and thank you very much for sharing your experiences in vídeos. Me and my wife (65/53 years old) will start the Via Podienses in Le Puy en Velay on april, 8th, that is, in 3 weeks, and are enjoying a lot the videos. We are already veterans of the Camino de Santiago, having walked from SJPP to Santiago de Compostela in set/out 2019. This time we will go all the way up to Roncesvales. I don’t want to bother you guys but I have a question: Did you guys made prior reservations at the Gitês or just arrived at the places? Thank you for everything! Claudio

      Claudio. I would recommend making reservations at least up to Cahors. You will notice that the number of people walking beyond cahors is far less. Now maybe based on the time of the year (April) the people walking will be less regardless. I strongly recommend that you book domaine de Sauvage (day 3 for us) well In advance as it is the only place to stay. Lots of space and a very nice place, but it was full the night we stayed there and people were walking to the next town hoping for a bed. You are in for a beautiful walk. We really enjoyed this camino. I’m not sure of your budget, but I would recommend a night in Navarrenx at the home of the Alchemist. We really enjoyed looking at his art and he provided a very nice meal. Enjoy!!

      @@chrisduhaime5715 thank you very much for your answer. For this 3rd day we have decided to walk a bit more, up to Le Rouget, and already booked a Gitê there. Diferent from you guys, we also decided to walk by the Voie du Rocamadour, so we will go by a different way to Cahors, but I will do as you recommend, I will book prior up to Cahors. Thank you again, nice to chat with you, bye

    Very nice. Be aware that Hans Zimmer owns the copyright to that music. Probably not too much of a concern (famous last words!).

    • @chrisduhaime5715
      @chrisduhaime5715  Год назад

      Yes he does. I always check for the copyright issue. I don’t put our travel videos on RUclips with the intent to make any money, therefore the artists allow you to use their music and they can make money from any ads that RUclips inserts into the video

    what the average you paid for the gîte ??

      It has been a while since we walked the camino and I don’t remember exactly what we paid but I can say that it was 2 to 3 times what you would pay on the Camino Frances. At the same time I can say that we stayed at some incredible places that made the camino so memorable. We stayed in several homes where the owners made us supper and socialized with us. If your walking this camino I highly recommend the home of the L’Alchimiste in Navarrenx.

    Do you book ahead?

    • @chrisduhaime5715
      @chrisduhaime5715  Год назад +1

      We did book ahead as we were told in advance that crowds were large especially the first 10 days. There are some days like day 3 when you get to Sauvage. There is only one place to stay and it was booked solid. Several had to walk on to the next town for a bed. After day 10, you do see that the crowd is smaller. Now keeping in mind, we were walking shortly after Covid restriction had been lifted and a lot of people were looking forward to getting out on the camino’s. Plus, not all Gites have opened since the lock down reducing the number of beds.
