Thanks! Having played some more (there's more video coming) I can say that the game throws a lot at you and keeps you on your toes, but I can definitely see that it wouldn't be for everyone.
My understanding is that you may place commanders freely but only have to pay to assign to a campaign. You discarded Murat but put the next commander in the box, so it was confusing. Also, all countries start hostile and it looks like you have them in neutral
Thanks. I did realize that about the commanders but never said so. I discarded Murat because his removal was blank so I knew I could just draw him later, I also had several commanders at that point and the number of campaign cards that early is few. The other reason was to keep the card in the draw deck to postpone getting the arrest card until I had both positive DRM cards. That was my thinking anyway - and you're completely correct about the countries all being hostile, I totally missed that when setting up.
So Joe, as the game builds are there many things that the player has to remember in regards to the various cards, e.g., can’t be used there, discard here, doesn’t apply, if, etc?
No, it's very straightforward. There are some you'll need to keep in mind to play at the appropriate time (like cards that effect an event that hasn't happened yet - as happened with the Arrest card when I had Robespierre on the board, giving me a +2 DRM on the die roll on the Arrest). The drawn card will usually tell you it's impacted by certain other cards so you can also have an "Oh, yeah, I have that card moment" too.
I collect Napoleonic games, I have loads of them, but never play them. For some reason I am not sure if I will purchase this game. Thank you for the play through.
Thanks for watching! I've only just started getting into Napoleonic games and have a few I need to get played. This obviously is different than LNB, La Bataille or the Eagles, etc., so I can understand it won't be for everyone. I'm a hex & counter guy at heart myself (hence the channel name).
Thank you for the reply. There are two things that worry me about this game; The look and arrangement of the game board. On BGG 42 of the 70 forum posts concern the rules.
13:33 Actually, no reset in 1793 See 12.1 *Exception:* In the first Year of the Commander Deck, 1793, the
Admin marker is not reset.
Thanks!
Great to see a playrhrough.
It helps with other payers helping as well. Thank you for doing this.
Very tuff start for you. This looks really interesting. Looking forward to the next episode.
Yep. I do like it so far and am looking forward to playing out a campaign to hopefully start climbing the ladder to First Consul. Thanks!
On the fence with this one, but I do enjoy the history. Appreciate the play through!
Cheers!

Thank you, your playthrough helped me a lot.By the way ,you never used the luck factor...did you forget it?
Yes I did - though I remembered in subsequent videos. Thanks!
Thank you ;-)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Got my copy yesterday. Seems like I only P500'd it the day before.
This one did seem to move through the P500 pipeline quickly compared to some others.

if you use a commander you have to pay glory... you may assign the commander card in commanders box when you draw it!
Thanks - sometimes it is Admin, not Glory, but yes, I know you must pay to use them in a campaign.
