We just found out how Seb won his championships.. by sticking out his tongue for better aerodynamics
My myself and my old man have the same habit, maybe we should have been race drivers!
Learned that from Michael Jordan
@@himaro101 but you have to train right, else you might create bad aerodynamics, when using it wrong :P
Only works in open Cockpit cars. Also: Remember the Flexiwing. It was never the wing! It was the tongue
This driving is so beneath a legend, a young fellow with a pole and multiple podiums or a fellow who fared quite well against Hakkinen and Schumacher on the same team...with disabled legs. This narrow tyred quasi DB5/bimmer might as well be a wheelbarrow.
Vettel did it in 2 tries in a car that he's never driven before, that's actually insane.
He is a 4 time world champion
Check out old Race of Champions footage. He's able to drive a variety of different cars to a decent pace
For racing drivers a car is an extension of themselves

Seb is impressive of course.

He might be a good driver. But he's the worst, most biased commentator I've seen.
They really undersell Mark Higgins here... he's a high pedigree rally driver in his own right and holds the Isle of Mann car lap record
Another day at Sky F1.
This is an infomercial for Aston and James Bond. Typical Sky waffle but cool cars to be fair
Seb almost hit the barrier twice and didn't even blink 😂 love that guy
This just goes to show that stunt driving is a skill in itself. Being a world class racing driver doesn't doesn't mean that you can be a top notch stunt driver. Good fun had by all though.
To be fair, the stunt driver has more seat time in the car than Seb and Lance. Not saying they would be on his level, but given a bit more time with the car probably would bring them closer in performance.
They 'd exceed him soon. Tiff Needell ,who was barely an F1 driver beat a top Bond Stunt driver by 2.8 seconds over a 48 second course.
Of course they would be! Just takes practice.
deff a skill in itself. But i think if you gave the F1 drivers time, they'd show us how rapidly they'd be able to adapt and learn. They aren't human.
Hmm... It's different to be sure, I guess would have been easier for a rally driver.
But it can't be that difficult. Lots of guys do this, for example at rallies for amateurs. I did some too, takes some practice, but not that much. Then, even David Hasselhoff did a lot of stuntdriving by himself. I've also seen stuntdrivers teaching a journalist to do a 2 wheels go. He flipped the car at first attempt, after a few more tries he could do it.
Seb looked like an absolute boss while performing these stunts
Seb does his usual stunning job
Almost putting it in the wall that is
My favourite thing about watching any Vettel vs Stroll video is seeing how much better a driver Seb is 🤣
LOOOOL
It's not an open wheel car. It has far less grip than the Sports cars Brundle raced.
@@adampetten5349 LOOOL
@@adampetten5349 Similar to the E Types Martin races at Goodwood though.
@@22copes A lightweight E type has a lot more mechanical grip. Still, the difference between them is nothing compared to an F1 car.
If Jolyon Palmer did better than Seb here would that make him a better driver? No. Furthermore, Jolyon is still a much better driver than the driver who did best here. It's a lot easier to teach people how to drive a moderately fast road car with limited grip than an F1 car.
In the Hulkenberg video on the Aston site the stunt driver notes that F1 drivers go too slowly into the corners then apply too much throttle. They are used to immense grip- so they don't trust a car with .85 g at most.
I remember Tiff Needel...already quite old, eviscerating the then second ranked Bond Stuntdriver. Was 2.8 seconds faster than the stunt driver on a 45 second course.
Tiff knows drifting and burnouts from all the powerful front engined rear drive road cars he's driven. Vantages, Gran Turismos, F-Types and F-12's.
I remember him easily beating Karun Chandhok at drifting. Chandhok raced 20 races whilst Tiff was in F1 for a cup of coffee. It didn't help Karun was in an F12 and Tiff in a Vanquish S. I have no doubt in an RB16 or W12 Chandhok would easily beat Needel by 4-5 seconds. Both would spin in an RB16 but Chandhok could complete a lap.
Put Liam Lawson in Albons RB15 or RB16 and he is crushed...maybe gets 30 points....makes Gasly look good in 2019.
The point is the least gifted driver did best here because of practice and experience. Lance likely has the least inherent talent but amongst Seb and Brundle That's no insult. Seb did about the same as Hulkenberg against Ricciardo. Both Germans are very good. When Brundle was competing against Senna at the level below F1 in 1983...a team boss took a racing sheet and showed it to Johnny Dumfries...a fast young driver. He told Johnny that Martin and Ayrton were the only names worth paying attention to. Martin crippled his legs nearly as badly as Herbert ,but still was only outscored 51-38 by Schumacher on the same team at 35 years of age. Seb had shown a bit less ability than Senna and Hamilton. If Leclerc is a prodigy ,then Seb did quite well being slightly outscored and ahead 10-7 in races. Webber was at a very similar level 2009-2010. Webber got old and Seb became one with the car.
If Stroll poled at Turkey and finished second but binned a fun remote control car race these 'individuals ' would cited that as proof of his ineptitude.😂😂
Bottas and Kimi with their WRC skills would be amazing in this challenge
I'd say Carlos would be very good too
"Valtteri, it's James... don't ruin that precious car "
"Yes boss".
TBH I actually think too that Seb would make a great Bond lol, he got that agent look, plus he is smart, funny and quick witted!
And once again showed how much of a good driver he is, in a car he never drove before, he got accumulated to it very quickly, and nailed the challenges!
Ngl he would also make a great bond villain too
So that car has an E46 M3 engine, custom chassis and a carbon-fibre body, weighing only 1000kg. Must be an absolute hoot to drive
I wondered what it had in it!
Cool they went with a straight six like the original car has
and the sound of it! so addictive

Lance and Seb seem to have greast chemisty, off track at least
Especially after today’s race🤣🤣

Seb also got along great with Charles off the track. I think besides his quirks and Vettel-isms he’s generally an easy bloke to hang around.
They both don’t give a F, one being 4x WC, the other - billionaire’s son
Fun fact: this isn’t an actual original DB5. It’s the movie stunt car, which is an E46 M3 covered in a Carbon Fiber (!) replica shell by Aston. Super crazy
I was looking for this comment, I knew I couldn't be a real db5, no way they would be drifting it around.
@@mswain844 To be fair, you need to watch the Goodwood Revival, when all the classics get thrashed, flat out and sideways with door to door overtakes
As much as I love watching the DB5 shape being thrown around, this is a BMW M3 underneath the sculpture & not truly an AM. Great video.
Sebastian Vettel drove that first Aston Martin like a animal! A lot of natural Talent there
Seb has to be one of the most humble yet talented drivers from the modern F1 grid. Couple this with an iconic AM DB5..... These cars look gorgeous but given their age, are not the best handling cars out there.

I have to say, and I hope this comments gets read by many, Mr Martin Brundle is a class act. We are so lucky to have someone represent fans in this era. Lawrence Stroll is clearly a very gifted and successful businessman, came in and saved the team (previously called Racing Point) and has given Aston Martin's F1 team the chance of a good future, but you've got to question their claim of having F1 title ambitions - when Stroll junior is given a seat over Perez or Hulkenberg.....
