- So... finally I completed this.
A compilation Video of all World Records in Home-run Contest in Super Smash Bros Melee.
This took a whole lot of work.
One big disadvantage was/is that Sin2324's doesn't exist anymore or atleast his videos, so I had to find them on other ways, since he still holds most of Melee's Records.
I found most of them on HRCVids's Channel or on Sin's homepage luckily, but the newer and cooler Young Link record is missing and I did not find it so unfortunately it isn't included in the video.
Also there is no video of Samus' World Record, so I took the next best one and included it in the video. For Young Link I took the European Record which is by Clad.
Originally I wanted to include Ice Climbers and Ganondorf over Limit and Ice Climbers no Glitch, but ended up not doing.
While I know much about the HRC history myself I figured much myself and still knew who holds which WR, but also TrekLink256's WR List was again a big help.
It turns out that the Mewtwo Record by Akairu, which was 1% more than the one by Madmailler was fake so I included the Record of him, since it seems it's the actual World Record

There was a video in 2006 called "Melee Homerun Contest Records [NOT MY RECORDS]" It had Linkin Park and other songs and the game audio in it. These clips are from it. Sadly the original is removed
This is one of the most viewer friendly videos ever. Good flashing of the m/ft in the begin to let people know, having the sound silent with music over so we dont hear “ready go” over and over but still overdubbing the final “ding” of the bat or alternative sound effects when not using the bat.

Isn't pikachu's reverse bat hitbox way stronger? When I go to home run contest and hit at zero forwards it gets around 369 but, when I use the reverse hitbox it goes 839.

only stronger at low percents. it sends at a very vertical trajectory which is better only until like 150% i think. I actually asked this very question on the original pikachu wr video lol. :) full circle

Just what I was thinking. Well thankfully G&W was before that and I was thinking "man, must suck to execute flawlessly and not get a 9" and then I noticed Peach's involved a bomb...lol. Or wait, isn't G&W programmed to only get 9's in HRC or are my neurons just failing me?

@@cwjalexx Pretty much to prevent wasted runs since nothing else would really do jack shit in comparison but now that I think about it the game was rushed, as you must already know. So I doubt they'd have thought that much about HRC quality of life character variations, lol.

I appreciate the effort that went into sound editing to spare us the annoying hitting noises, yet still put back in the important sound effects, and having a big finish.

Afternoon Tea You can switch between feet and meter in the NTSC version by switching the language to Japanese
you need to use japanese mode to use the meters mode platform, this strat doesn't work on feet mode haha

Havent properly been into SSBM any more for a few years now and Im really glad someone gathered and posted a somewhat recent WR compilation. Im very positively surprised that 1 km Kirby (and therefore all 1+ km) has finally been achieved! Who would have thought that about 10 years ago.

why does the upthrow only do 12% instead of 25%? (since the bat doesn't decay)
SinYue I would lie if I sayed I know but my guess is that it's a light up throw not a smash throw.
Maybe some pro players watch this Video and can answer your question :)
If a character (Popo in this case) is holding on to an opponent, it will reduce the damage and knockback of any attacks that hit that opponent by around 50%.

Why are the Ice Climbers' and Ganondorf's records at 11347.2ft/3485.5m? How do you know the exact distance if it capped?
The limit has been known to be that exact value for a long time, you can use AR to verify I believe. In meters mode, the limit is 11,345.2 ft.

One is in feet, the other is in meters. They are both the same distance as far as the game is concerned
