Is the sound at an annoying level? Is it a very low sound? It sounds fine through my headphones.

definitely not annoying levels, it only gets loud when you accelerate hard, then it can produce near 110dB. It's just loud enough to be nicely audible so you can hear the pitch change as you change speed as you cruise along

Cool review. I first saw the Energica bikes at the 2018 IMS in NYC and they looked really impressive. It's interesting that even as the electrics improve, they still do not seem to be selling. My guess is because: 1) They still take too long to re-charge 2) The range still is not there 3) The public infrastructure is still not there. 4) Most riders still like the sound/smell/vibration of combustion bikes. I suspect sales will improve if these bikes actually become hybrid and not just full on battery powered.

I agree, charge time is definitely still too long. The sounds/smells/vibrations is one of things that I think if we can get riders to actually try electric (just like with cars) you forget about pretty quick. Of course, you're going to have riders who live for that stuff, who wouldn't make the switch no matter what.

Why do you believe they are not selling? People who buy them have to wait months for delivery and there aren't enough to keep in dealer inventory. Experia back orders are like a year out. Your assumptions are not supported by the facts.

@@OrlandoRick I disagree - just because a product is back ordered does not indicate demand necessarily - it may indicate small or limitied production runs because of costs and overhead as well (pretty common with electric bike mfgrs.) How are my assumptions "not supported"? The last good numbers were from 2021 - at that time there were 8.5 million motorcycles registered in the US - les than 1% of these bikes were electric.

I am not suggesting that there will not be more in the future - there will be - my point is when I saw Energica in back 2018 (5 years ago!) at IMS in NYC, there was a huge buzz over them and by 2023, I expected to see tons of these bikes on the road in the US - the fact is, I don't - that is not an assumption just an accurate observation. There is no infrastructure for them still in the US and they STILL have not solved the two biggest things that have dogged them - price and range. The viceral experience is secondary. but stlll a factor with most bike owners, especially those over 35...

@@OrlandoRick It's true electric vehicle sales (including motorcycles) are up, but in parts of the US and I'm sure other countries, where the infrastructure just isn't there yet, and especially if you don't live near a urban/metro area (where most e-motos thrive) you don't really see electric motorcycles like you do where the charging stations are in ample supply.
In CA, I see e-motos all the time. But, even where I live, near Sacramento CA (population ~500K), access to quick charging stations isn't great. I'm looking forward to the advances in battery and charging tech, as well as pricing becoming more competitive (like they have with electric cars).

      The problem is the price.
