You did such a good job!! I love your little diy jobs I always end up buying stuff like this I want to try & make one of these stands & that tank cover you did as soon as I can get the tools : )
Greetings, my Name is Jackie and I'm from Malaysia...i love all of your video and information, this hobby is new for me and now currently i'm on my diy rack project, I'm so thankful for your design...i'm going to follow your design but different scale... thanks a lot for that, i'm always wonder who are you, a man? teenager? what do you do for life? because i love your adventure and passion for this aqua stuff...
I took a few years of a carpentry class a while back. I think it was a good idea screwing from the inside out. The screws above those being screwed in the opposite way will create a lock of sorts, and it will hold more weight. It is quite a bit more sturdy than if you screwed them all in the same direction. Great build btw, love the wood finish 👍
your "Rack" is really the most finished I've seen. Good Job! And just to put it in a garage. I will learn from you, young man, and finish off the screws' heads by hiding them. Thanks.
hahahaha that was my first thought. my first time at home depot, i gave the guy measurements, and he was off anywhere from 2" to 8" on every piece. one piece, he was even off by an entire foot. I stopped getting my wood cut at home depot.
The wood in your part of the world looks so much better than where I live. The lumber near me is all warped and full of knots. I can go through all the lumber that size at my local DIY store and maybe find 2 or 3 pieces as nice as any of those. Costs more here than it looks like it does there too!
So proud of you, bro! You really nailed it literally! :D It looks good and sturdy and more important, that is DIY work! :D Makes me wanna make something similar :D
Nice build! The screws are fine like that as long as they don't go through the other side. 😆 just found your channel a couple days ago. I'm about to set up a UNS 60u ADA style tank soon.
Nice job! I agree on not using paint on it, I like to see the wood grain, and I usually like the darker browns of stain. Can't wait to see it when it's done. For a fitst time project you only had the one mistake...great job! 👍🍄😃
Wow great work and thanks for the video. I actually just moved into a new home and was thinking of building a wooden rack for tanks, but the size of an entire wall. Keep up the great content!
Great job on the build, for nano tanks the stand is over engineered, but I always like to build that way aswell. Like with many things investing in good tools will help make life easier and last for many years. Therefore on that note an orbital sander or a detail sander with various grit types would def help. Once you use one, you will never go back to doing it by hand.
For not using a square or a level you did fine building your first stand, plenty strong for the tanks you're planning on using. If you choose to build more in the future and want larger tanks try using 2x6 for your uprights, and notching the wood with a circular saw to fit the 2x4 horizontal pieces in the uprights. Cheaper solution for those wood plugs are dowels of the same diameter, glue in a lenght then cut it off flush with your finishing saw. Also keep those papers with your plans and other fish bits on them, get a folder or binder and label it aquarium- so if you ever want to reference plans later to duplicate what you have you can go right to the binder and find them. Trust me, after thirty years of stand, canopy, sump, lighting, etc. designs I have massed my own book of knowledge basically if you choose to go further in the hobby. Keep up the good work, see you in the next video!
nice work. It was probably much cheaper than the metal one as well. That leaves more money for fish and plants. Just remember, the floor may not be perfect either, so you may need to use those shims to eliminate wobble
i was looking to build something similar and your design is easy and efficient i think ill adopt it i have 2 smaler 60 cm tanks i want on the same rack :D nice video
To avoid that gap from happening, next time back your screws out a little and then re screw them in and it will bite down better and grab it in nice n tight. Great job tho buddy
Well done for your fist attempt I think you made a really great job of it looking forward to seeing the tanks on it. By the way when are you setting up the large ADA tank up ?? 👍
Thank you 😊 I’ve already started my 120p and made a couple videos on it already. Just can’t release it yet because I want to enter the iaplc contest. I will release the videos after the awards ceremony. For best results, it’s best not to show your tank on social media. However, next year, I will not worry about the results and display my tanks as per usual on RUclips. Hope you understand
Best strength is when you nail or screw from both sides. I dislike you capping over the screws as life changes and I have had to move my racks a few times. Yours is smaller that mine but so much easier to move when you can take it apart. Capping over the screws though makes it look better.
After 13 years of fish keeping, 2020 was just too much personal problems and it changed the chemistry in my brain. I’m just not the same anymore and as of January 1, 2020 I’ve tested positive for Covid-19 and am currently 12 days in.

That is a solid build.
I like the finished color.
Looking forward to whats next.

Hey Ryo! Very usefull information, many thanks for this! Keep your good work! Greatings from Portugal
That's a clean build what's coming will be cool whatever you put there
King Of DIY style ! love it
your local shop does a nice job of cutting and packing it for you! far out, my local does not have service like that!
also what i do when making stands like that is to use some wood glue where your screwing. just gives that extra hold.

good Job! can't wait for the Tanks you'll put on there :)
Thank you 😊
Great Job. Looks Amazing!! I love your DIY Rack!! Best regards from Germany
Love your positive vibe. Enjoy the journey.
Well done Ryo
Thanks 😊
Great job Ryo! It’s gonna be very rewarding setting up tanks on a stand you built with your hands!!
Iba talaga pag hindi tinipid sa materyales... Very solid and looks sturdy. Nice aquarium stand
Only in Japan can you have the guy in the store cut all that wood and have the thing fit together!
Nice build,

Agreed! I really want more
Great job! Can't wait to see the aquarium set-up for this rack.

Great job on the rack! Most impressed. Can’t wait to see what you have planed with it. 👍
looking good!
it feels special where you do it yourself :)
Wow great, you did a wonderful job Ryo!
Thank you very much :)
Nice neat job Ryo very sturdy I like the colour now it is stained
Well thought out, and very well made. Good job, Ryo!
Hey, incredible work Ryo! This is impressive. Can't wait to see the tank installed in future
Excellent job Ryo 👍🏻
Really nice looking design and build! They cut the wood so nicely in Japan. They really DGAF at Home Depot here in the US.
Good work! It turned out really nice
Legend has it Ryo is 50 yrs old.
So proud of you, bro! You really nailed it literally! :D It looks good and sturdy and more important, that is DIY work! :D Makes me wanna make something similar :D
Thank you so much 😊
Amazing stand, Ryo! Trying to think of a sturdy stand for my 20 gallon aquarium, and now I know what to do!
Thanks 😊 Glad this helped a little
Very nice! Close to master craftsman! 🙌
nice dude! There is no wrong or right. It´s important that you like it.
I don’t know about that. Structural integrity is also important so I want to make sure that I’m building it correctly. You’re not wrong though :)
Very nice job. I am ALMOST tempted to try it myself...?
Good job with the build. A nice touch with the wood dowels (plugs), helps to make the frame cleaner.
It looks awesome, Ryo! I like the finish you chosen for the wood 😏
Great job Ryo! Perfect just the way it is. Love the videos and the passion for the hobby. Keep up the great work!

I was thinking about building one of these myself but for 29 gallons
You definitely should, this was a fun project :)
Wow nice
Hi there Good job have good day and happy day
See you next time.
Great job 👍
Thanks. Not much skill needed to do this though 😅

Nicely done, keep trying new things!
Was going to build one at home but i cant let anything go wrong in the apartment
Thank you 😊
Nice!
Nano tanks with shrimps pls! Each nano tank different shrimp colour will be cool!
That would be awesome. Definitely some shrimps but probably not all 😅
Cool video nice casio

Nice ..👍👍👍🐠
Well done, but it needs support legs at the center also
Nice work ryo, looks good, I always get worried about them holding the weight of full tanks, but I think you nailed it 😉👍
Thanks we’ll have to wait and see :)

Nice video 👌🥰🥰🥰🥰 good end result 👍
40 gallon is better than neno when it's come to that rack
and info bro 👍👍👍👍 Intresting 💯💯💯
Yup. I want to put 2x 40 gallons on it sometime in the future
@@RyoWatanabee it will be nice and awesome🥰👌💯
Good choice of getting the cuts done at store, I do the same.....quicker, easier and lets you get on with the job
Yes, and also, I don’t have an electric saw 😅 definitely not going to use a hand saw to cut the wood myself
Nice
Hi, so how much 2x4 for your built to prevent wastage? Thanks
Best strength is when you nail or screw from both sides. I dislike you capping over the screws as life changes and I have had to move my racks a few times. Yours is smaller that mine but so much easier to move when you can take it apart. Capping over the screws though makes it look better.
Hvanet had you on my feed in a bit! HAve to sub so I see more of ya!
Did u add any support at the bottom to avoid any tipping ???
hello.... your the best.. ❤
m a new subscriber, and love your videos bro ❤️
Thank you so much 😊
Excellent job! How much did it cost to build it vs just buying the metal rack? I'm curious 🤔
What is the plant inside your rice fish pot? It's still green even in the cold. Looks super hardy
Hey, how many meters of 2x4 so
I can avoid wastage, thanks
measurements in METRIC system
USA: Ight Imma Head Out
is that a pine wood?
It is better to do it higher from the ground at bottom. Now cleaning under rack for you became complicated.
Can u make a video off ada gallery,i want to see ada nano tank but i can go to there ????
Yes, I want to go there but it is closed right now
could you plz.... mention the total cost of wooden rack you build ... including the screws....plz reply ....thank you ...
Yup, wood was $65, screws were $8, wood plugs were $4. Other materials and equipment I had already.
DIY is the best!!! Good job, check my diy Wood stand European version "ATLAS". Greetings from Poland :)
Hello second
Hi 👋🏼
I think that is too strong for 40 gallon, that solidity can even support a 200 gallon, and it's a good thing
