- Well, somehow El Slammo continues to get better?! I'm really not sure how, but this place is the Pipeline of novelty waves. Surfing Slammo is the best, because all of the groms are on another level of stoke & the whole surf community down here is excited even though the conditions are extremely challenging. Ben has taken surfing to a place that has not existed or at least the general surfing community was not aware of . The ability to surf something that many believe to not be surfable . Its like techy surfing riding some jank . A place like slammo that a few fisherman would bother with is now a paradise of surfing extravaganza . People will travel from around the world to make there way to the jank and see if they can master slammo like Ben Gravy .

The Wedge is head high today, California has a lot of really amazing swell magnets.
There is a spot near me that used to never get crowded. One of the Pro's moved to the area and started filming there now it is packed every day no matter how big it is. And the pro has moved to a city up the coast. Good for the sport but seemed to really upset the older locals in my area. the pro now lives in the town i grew up in and the two towns had a huge local rivalry in the 70's 80' and part of the 90's. Interesting how things have changed in the world of surfing. I remember growing up getting chased out of spots and damage to our vehicles. We used to get so beat up as kids even by our older local guys if we drifted into the main peak. Those were the days.
