- Nationwide Garage company incorrectly diagnosed this Ford S Max 2.0 Tdci with an exhaust gas temperature sensor.
multiple garage trips with no solution he decided to drive across the voluntary to me to get it resolved.
Great work Jimmy, excellent content and true life, bloody seem to really rust in more with c-max and connects more than transits. Keep up the fantastic job, eventually others will catch up, it does make me wonder how many car owners when other garages quote silly £€$ just write the vehicle off. Maybe some are more focused on EV and HEV and just not interested how some of these systems work, i love to see the logical process not only with diagnostics but what most dont even look at LIVE DATA (fault code clearing clowns)
keep it up Jimmy
£600 😲 for a sensor
Never in my life would I pay that for a sensor
That's a joke
Probably not just the sensor. Diagnostic fees, knowing them lots of additive sales and a service
@@ORileysAutosmoral of the story, unless you dont like your money, avoid Halfords!!!!!
thanks for the new video. in Italy we have not mounted these fuel dispensers on the exhaust to raise the temperatures in the dpf and start cleaning. but everything happens with the sprays of the injectors in post combustion. the only problem is that part of the diesel injected into the combustion chamber goes ending up in the oil sump .. and contaminating the oil . we have more frequent oil changes .
Invaluable information and advice as always...
Glad you think so!
I’d be kicking off in Halfords until I got my money back
All very good advice Jimmy & no stone uncovered, well done 💪💪
Cheers mate. Email me orileysautos@gmail.com
We'll keep in contact
Nice one Jimmy ,great job ya doing
Now would it be a bad idea to hook up the vacum pump to the vaporiser before removing it to test if it?
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
Issue here is 2 stools. This falls between them. Lads that are good at using the scanners don't want to use spanners..They're Scanner Guys... Lads that are good at spanners don't know how to use scanners - they're Spanner guys... So this ^ falls into a Grey Zone - you need someone who can use both a scanner & a spanner - and those are Hens Teeth. I know this as most of what I do is Hens Teeth stuff - I see how far people drive to get here - 5 hours is not uncommon - which suggests we're rare if they have nobody closer.
. I do the same work you do, Jimmy, and I fix corrosion issues too. People are "amazed" we can fix stuff almost nobody else will touch - Spanners & Scanners with added welders = Ultimate Hens tooth. :-) We never advertise - our work all comes from other garages/word of mouth - I bet you are much the same. You're a Hens Tooth. So are we.
Where are you based?
Hi Jimmy, great videos and lots of help. I have the 2.0l tdci s-max (200k miles) with a P244C (low temp). Temp sensors are grand, measure approx 200 to 300 running. I changed the Vaporizer and monitor the ON signal and temp using OBD2 reader. Temp reaches 400c max. Now, my question, 😅 the closed loop is approx 50% +/- 10% after active regen but, the open loop is 200% plus. Im taking the dpf off for a wynns off car wash this weekend. Will the open loop drop once i start driving it and see an active regen? Or do i need to reset all dpf values on Forscan?
Again great vids and notice a lot of S maxs 🤔
Should have watched until the end. Still a great vid. 😅🤦
Jimmy great info about the open/closed loops..can the average distance between regens and miles since last regen give you any clues you have an emissions problem..
Hi
Nice info I have a 2020 transit 2l ad blue camper that i brought from auto trail England and imported it into New Zealand
It now has 20000 km on the clock and from new have been having the spanner light coming on with the codes PO29D-85-68
PO2A5 85 68 PO2A9 9B 68 with are Injector leaking and Injector circuit range performance
Ford NZ have looked at it and as i imported it myself they are no help
Any idea which area to start looking in as the injectors have been replaced and checked and the PCM has been replace and coded by ford
The wiring has no fault
Any advise most welcome
Thanks Wayne
everytime i try to buy that Launch DPF gun cleaner its on backorder..come on Launch sort your act out
hi jimmy would you recommend using something like cataclean on a regular bases to help safe guard possible dpf problems on a ford transit custom 2014 330 2.2cc or recommend another fuel additive
Good job ❤ brother
Great vid as always
Appreciate it!
£600 FOR ONE EXHAUST SENSOR THAT CANNOT BE RIGHT?
Customer says so. Obviously diagnostic fees and there useless dpf regen process in that price
If he took it to Halfords, no one to blame but himself
Good Job 👍
Hi J, what dpf cleaner can I use apart from lunch type
Hey Jimmy, do every really do many Kia's? I always see so many Ford's, Land Rover/Jaguars, Renault, Vauxhall and a few BMW and VAG cars, but never really noticed Kia or Hyundia being bad for dpf issues?
Got a kia booked in tomorrow
Where can you find out the logic for doing a regen?
So you know what temps, pressures etc it is looking for before it can regen
By watching couple hundred of his videos ;)
i think the last place to take your car to is a big place like halford and places like that they just interested in kicking arse, much better to take it to someone who knows what they doing, like you
sell a car to Russia, here they will remove everything in it that haunts you and they will drive and enjoy life! 😁😁😁😁😁
This is why when I got my Car I deleted the DPF & EGR straight away
Не из России случайно?
It will now fail its next mot though.
@@pammy5260 that’s funny I took it to its MOT in December where it passed straight away 🤣 DPF is hidden by an under tray and even if it wasn’t the mot man would be clueless because the DPF is still in place 🤙🏻
So what you are telling us is you are driving around with void insurance? 👏
@@Mac_F87 Pity they’re not allowed to start unbolting at my engine isn’t it Bitch 💅
Mate has a 151 ford transit the engine packed up are they a trouble some van to go for was going to buy one myself but every one says stay away from them . Have you come across many fords with bad engines
The 2.2 I think is a great engine in the transit. The 2.0 not as good because of the wet belt.
6k ??? WTF 😳 Did I hear that right 6k on parts at 8:11
He paid 6k for the vechile
I hear 6k spent at 8:11@@tcblue3095
I'm struggling to work out why the vaporizer fuse keeps blowing on a 2015 fwd transit.. customer has had a new dpf and vaporizer and temp sensors before I got the van. Any ideas jimmy?
Fuse blows after minutes of driving
Do u ever come to England
Jimmy is based in Bedfordshire area. I think?
He is based in Biggleswade.
