Top 50 Eurovision Songs Most Successful in Jury Vote (1957-2018)

- It's a list made of 50 Eurovision songs according to a percentage of the maximum possible score in the jury vote.
The video includes songs which competed in the finals from 1957 to 2018 excluding 1998-2008 (when only the televoting was used) and 2013 (because of lack of needed data, split average rankings were published instead of split scores). In 1997, five countries used the televoting. Their points were included to represent these countries' vote.
In case of a tie current rules of Eurovision are applied (unless these contestants are from the same year, in which case their placement is the tie-breaker). The one who gets the highest percentage of the countries who awarded points wins. If there is still a tie, it is counted how many sets of maximum points in relation to the number of countries each country received, etc.
All rights belongs to EBU.
With 271 points out of 504 possible (53.77%), Cesar Sampson would have placed 70th in this top. Which is why the video remains relevant after the Eurovision 2018.
it's so refreshing seeing both newer and older songs from the contest, something we can rarely see in those kind of videos... thank you so much!
The top looks similar to my first video because prior to late 90s jury was the only instrument to rank songs.
Since this video doesn't have a lot of recent songs, I will make another one featuring only songs since 2009 to show how jury played their role since their reintroduction.
AlexESC
Amazing job doing this videos ^^
Keep it up :)
AlexESC as for entries from 2009 to now I have another great idea: show a new voting system result top
+Vlad Vlad I might do that
UK and Ireland used to be loved by the jury back when singing in English was "unique" 😂🤭
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Technically as 5 countries televoted in 1997, UK got 181 out of a possible maximum of 240 jury votes which is 75.42% putting it tenth and 46 out of 48 televotes which 95.83% putting first on the televoters
Alex ESC can you please tell me where Yohanna and "Is it true" is on the list???
didnt expect that Ding a Dong would be so high at this time our latest win 8:05
I think entries before 1975 shouldn't be in because of totally different systems. That's why 1971-1973 are represented by 15 songs in top whilst it was the easiest one to score highest available points compared to others
+Vlad Vlad that's exactly the reason why I started to make this type of videos though. Because I wanted to compare songs which competed under different voting systems. It isn't perfect ofc. I might try something else in the future like trying to compare them under a single voting system.
One thing I saw that made the comparison more balanced was counting the songs in these years not as from 2 to 10, but from 0 to 8, cosidering that they all had 2 points per country at the beginning, so this counted the points they really earned. It made for an interesting comparison, and I think it helped a lot to balance things.
Anne-Marie David - "Tu Te Reconnaitras" it's a best song ever
Certainly not, spain was better and still awarded and sung in many countries today, awarded in USA too, we all know penalized for political reasons, shameful!,
POV: don't expect Poland here since juries hate it
OMG @ THE SPANISH FLAG
I mean that was the Spanish flag at the time
Dear God, Mans was the most overrated thing by the juries...
Juan Roldan
He even know that didn't deserve to win.
It must be so embarrasing to win that way
Ummm no
6:22 the MAX point is 135 (by the interesting voting system)
how do song which were second in jury vote get more than 50%? who flunked aritmetic?
It's dividing the max points possible by the points it actually got. That's how second, third and fourth can get over 50%. If 180 points is the max a single country can get, and a country got 150 and another 124, the first one got 83.3% and the second one got 68.8%
How can a song get more then 50% of the jury votes and still be 2nd place in the jury vote for a particular year?
For example, one con try could get all tens and another country could get all twelves. The first country gets 5 out of 6 of all the votes, which is around 83 percent, while the second country gets all the possible points a country could have gotten.
a jury can give multiple scores not one a jury member
Am i the only one who thought that the reason Israel dosnet doing well in Eurovision is the juries ? Well guess i was wrong af
Why have you used the fascist Spain flag? :O
Because these particular songs were performed under that flag. Nothing more or less.
Interesting. Thanks for the answer!!
I AM HOLLERING
What? Euphoria barely got a 2:1?
And France 1976 got a 1st but still didn't win.
70's had a TERRIBLE fashion taste.
Portugal 2017 too overrated. I'm only ine who thinks it ???
Yes
I agree with you, Bulgaria should be winner.

Bulgaria was need to win
George Bacovia No it’s the worst winner ever together with Ukraine’s 1944 and Israel’s Toy.
