Story with details to understand: a continental DC-10 was taking off before an air france concorde and a piece of metal from the landing gear fell off the DC-10. Not to long later the concorde (sadly out of all planes it was the legendary concorde:() was taking off and that piece of metal punctured the concordes landing gear causing tire fragments to strike under the wing then causing a fuel tank to rupture then the concorde hit a hotel😢 R.I.P. to everyone who died😔
People who don't know what happened to Air France Flight 4590.A DC-10 Was taking off and bit of the weel Fell off And when the concord was taking off the planes weel hit it the DC-10 Weel Went into the Engine and caused it to crash into a Hotel outside the airport
More factors involved than just the metal strip and the DC-10: Less advanced tyres: all commercial airliner tyres needed improving. Thin fuel tank walls Most importantly, the tanks were full which caused the perturbation to propagate and cause rupture. A spark ignited the fuel. Orign, most likely from the landing gear. Rip 🙏
The DC-10 Continental has landed an let a metal scrap. Once concorde was taking off, it broke his tire and the parts from the tire bounced and hit the 5 fuel tank causing to lose fuel, the it hot then* second engine and exploded.
@@SomeOne-of7ndMaintenance issues of the airlines using it and pilot error did not mean that “oh the dc-10’s design is horrible and unsafe because of all of the crashes and I don’t care if it wasn’t its design!”
no, the main reason it got retired was because of inflation; gas prices, maintenance prices, tire prices etc all skyrocketed up and Concorde became obsolete, the crash had partly been a factor, infact had the crash not happened then just maybe but that’s a *big if* the Concorde would’ve continue to fly on British Airways till 2010-2015 iirc if no inflation or crash happened. That was the original date I’m pretty sure
That gave me shivers just remembering that day.

It was from the engine bro
The parts of the gear went into the engine after getting into the gear

Well said
Onfg well said but it’s W H E E L
That was a good explanation but it needs punctuation so I can understand it, I had to read it three times to understand it
It was a piece of mmetal not part of the wheel

The crazy part after the incident the Concorde was discontinued
What happened: While the concorde was taking off, the DC10 accidently lost one of his parts then the engine exploded RIP To everybody who died 😢
And people say the Concorde failed
