When you first bought the certificate, you said you couldn't read the cursive text. It looks like this is what is written: "Desiring to recognize in a permanent and appropriate form the Faithful and Heroic services of her Citizen Soldiers has by unanimous order of the General of Assembly of 1867, directed the undersigned be present to “Francis Stoughton Oliver of Co. 2, 12th regiment. Of this testimonial of Honor in grateful remembrance of the Courage and Patriotism by him displayed in the late war of the supposition of rebellion and the preservation of the Constitutional Liberty." This was apparently given to a soldier back in 1867, so it's a great find. Treasure this one. Your decor is beautiful.
