This video wasn't about making the most fair apple to apple comparison. It was more about making an entertaining/interesting comparison.

I think a lot of us have asked ourselves if the tradeoffs that come with using a uuhp tire on the street is worth it over a uhp street tire. For me, I came to the conclusion that running Cup 2’s all summer on the street was worth it for the improved responsiveness and steering feel despite the compromise in wet and cold grip. So yes, videos like this have value!

Just discovered this gem of a RUclips channel. Steve is brilliant as always. I've often wondered what the wear characteristics of the UHP look like after a track session. Supposedly, that proximity (both in feeling and performance) to a UUHP tire fades pretty quickly after the first lap. I know your testing time must be limited, but it would be great to measure drop off and wear over a session as well.

Always big thanks for doing these tests.
Is it possible for u to do somethings completely different to what the industry of tyre testing.
Testing UHP, UUHP and semi slick over the quarter mile to see, which tyre give the best 60ft, 0-100, 1/8 and 1/4 mile speed and times

Just bought these, ive got to say, ran them in rain after I got them on for many miles. So much traction, it feels like the roads are dry

I would be interested to see how well the Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS does against the Sport Cup 2 on the wet and dry track. As for the Potenza Sport it is a decent street tire and the reviewers don't advise using it for track days.

On a gt4 maybe the cup2 are the best but no hot hatch Can benefit of the cup 2. That why i am on those fantastic Bridgestone on m'y Leon Cupra 280

I’ve always called them extreme performance tires. It’s one notch below an R comp tire

You should redone this comparison with the new Potenza Race

Ive just discovered this channel and ive literally stumbled across this test comparison, i must say im a little bemused, what i mean is who in the right mind would consider driving their high performance car on Cup 2s in say the UK all year round, you'd need your head looking at. Id can't imagine your insurance would be too impressed either 🤔

      Hi!
Good question - I have put together a spreadsheet that shows the noise levels for all tyres from our group tests, and all other tyre label metrics for you to take a look at. You can find the file here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SMSClu-3Id3H7l5Fa0uWvj1E7kUqYQcyNyVA5g2b91I/edit?usp=sharing

In real life, always the uhp tyres will be better. Also the uuhp tyre will be better on track days and in perfect conditions when it has the right temperature!

Potenza Sport is a good tyre Road but not amazing.
Cup2 is a cut slick track tyre.
Not even in the same category so the comparison is entirely unfair and inaccurate.
Compare the Potenza Sport to the Potenza RE050, and then compare the PS4s against the Cup2R to have a fair comparison of road tyre vs track tyre from different manufacturer.
What exactly are you trying to ascertain by comparing a road tyre from one company vs a track tyre from a separate manufacturer?

    • @tyreseeker

Think you may have missed the point of the review - it was to compare a UHP with a UUHP to show the difference between them when it came to wet roads... not to compare Mich to BS as such. People naturally think UHP = fast, UUHP = faster, UUUHP = fastest... fact is this isn't true in all circumstances, we just wanted to demonstrate that, which I think we did.

@Nick Cook - You are all over the ballpark buddy, this ain't PC Esports or arcade Forza.
Potenza RE050 is a good tire, somewhat the equivalent of the Pilot Exalto. Had both tires on my cars, they were enough.
Cup2 "cut slick tire"? :D Lol, internet kids nowadays.
