eBay Customer Service NONSENSE and LAZY Customers. Are They PLOTTING my DOWNFALL? JUST KIDDING!

  • In this jolly tale I have a customer who refuses to pick up their item and then a merry go round with a lazy eBay customer service rep who can't keep their story straight. It resolved at the end thanks to a eBay CS rep who did their job properly but it's not the point. What are your experiences with this nonsense.     eBay doesn't give two shits about protecting their sellers.

    I had something like that happen with some nike airs i sold. Buyer got them fairly cheap and I sent them off. Item missed a scan or something on the way and was a little bit late but then about 8 days after the item was sent out buyer opened a case. I checked the tracking and said it was awaiting collection at xxxx po office. Told the buyer in a message. Buyer never got back to me so I ended up sharing screenshots with the live chat on ebay with what I told the buyer and they closed the case but refunded the buyer from their own pocket. I didn't have to pay anything but the next thing I saw was "item x was collected on xxx at po office". I couldn't believe it, so not only did the buyer get a refunded from ebay but they picked up their parcel. Some people are just so pathetic when it comes to buying stuff.

    I wonder if they realised it wouldn’t play on their console after you sent it and just refused to pick it up. I sold a 3ds game to someone in USA recently and thought, oh I better make sure they know it won't play in USA. Thankfully they responded before i sent it out and they (very rudely) asked to cancel.

      @@geelong-flipper sorry, I meant that as in: he realised it wouldn’t work while it was already in transit, and rather than go through a return knowing he was in the wrong, he decided to not accept delivery.

    Welcome to eBay, this will happen. Buyer must of had buyers remorse. Wait untill you get a third party charge back. You can't win them and the buyer can send you a random item back with valid tracking and you will lose.

    I had sold a pair of reading glasses not realising they had prescription lenses, buyer asks for $35 refund to have the lenses changed out at the optometrist, I decided no and to send them back for a refund. She goes on and on about how she’s unable to go to the post office and doesn’t have any friends/family that could post them back. Long story short she never sent them back, she didn’t get a refund, but she left a massive paragraph negative feedback which I couldn’t get removed even though I did the correct eBay procedure of offering a refund when they send it back.

    Ebay customer service has been full or idiots for 25 years. Your mistake was engaging with them. I prefer to just take the loss knowing I'll make it back on the next few sales rather than trying to get some favourable resolution from those nobs. If I had this sale/return, I would have taken the initial loss on shipping paid, recovered it from resale of the item and been slightly irritated that my final net profit/loss was nothing from the $3 find.

      I hear that for sure. So far I've been OK in the eBay CS olympics as long as I'm talking to them. It's the spurious decisions made that annoy me

    It's both usps and customer fault. It can go against your standard . I would argue I did everything I was supposed to. I shipped with tracking. I stayed in contact with the customer and followed ebays instruction through the process.

    It's obvious these Ebay "customer service" people are just using cut and paste template replies, hoping it will "fix" the problem without having to do a proper investigation. Yes, laziness. Bloody numb nuts!! 😂

    I just skipped about 3 reseller videos because I was sick of hearing everybody whinging and whining about eBay. Then landed on this one 🤣

    I’ve got one at the moment and the person hasn’t picked it up from the post office for a week, and hasn’t responded to my last 2 messages.
    eBay don’t release the money to me until it is collected!!

      I don't get eBay my son a new seller. Send item to America for 1500 dollars plus ship. Had the money in his bank as soon as he uploaded the tracking number. Sent an item inside Queensland for 2100 plus ship. The customer left positive feedback within three days of him posting it. But they have the money for 30 days.
