FOREVER
I always had the sense that I was split in two
It seems so complicated
To shift between existence
To long for the better one
Lurking in his footsteps
Hounding his trace
It is backbreaking being a search dog
Looking for its tail
If i could dive into the other
Like it was an ocean
Caressed by its water
I’d lose myself forever
I’d lose myself forever
I’d lose myself forever
Just below the surface
The surge is keeping me adrift
But then I leap into the heavens
Reveal myself to everyone
To astonish and amaze
If i could dive into the other
Like it was an ocean
Caressed by its water
I’d lose myself forever
I’d lose myself forever
I’d lose myself forever

This song feels like a creature crawling towards you. I love it
i know i'm 8 years late (discovered iceage when seek shelter came out) but this. this is my favorite iceage song. it's haunting, in a really good way.
shut up
I remembered seeing this video ONCE in 2014. The opening lyric has always stuck with me in a partial memeory, but I could never manage to find the song or video. Every time I've recalled this song for 6 years it has made me crazy being unable to track it down. Tonight after almost 4 hours, I have finally found it. Took a fine tooth comb and ultimately ended up going through a list of every album released in 2014. As soon as I saw the name ICEAGE I knew I had found it.
So happy to have found this. The lyrics of this song are such poetry. I heard this shortly after one of the most shattering and extreme (in wonderful and terrible ways) years of my life. The theme of the unattainable/impossible desire to merge dual elements of self in this song struck me then. Means just as much now.
Incredible song. So happy to have found it at last.
To the people who made this, your art has meant so much and had linked me back to something personal, beautiful and primal from my past. Thank you.
Yessss. I'm glad I got to read your writing here, this morning.
@@morganchristmas3023 Such an absolute gem of a song & album.
Btw, some nice playlists you've got on your channel. great variety.
I've been listening for about 5 years or so, and I share your love for this song. It's special. You lose yourself in it (forever)
I hope you have found a band to follow and enjoy for the years to come))
Ladies and gentlemen... on the trumpet, legendary Swedish auteur/director... Ingmar Bergman!
Benjamin White Workaholics reference while addressing a socially inept troll with your intent of an Ingmar Bergman joke on an Iceage video. Are you real?
Asperger Alex Yes, I'm real and for real. You know that Ingmar Bergman joke was fantastic.
surely not Asger Valentin who actually plays it
😂
some real serious pretentious losers in the replies
My soul always leaps at 4:04. That trumpet gets me every time
The horns at the end really made the song for me.
One of the sexiest men I've ever seen, I can't even concentrate on the music.
Victoria Nagual Damn, so true! He's hot! 💘
lmafo this shit made me giggle
I can. It's poetry in motion. And lovely yes.
Not as charismatic as Nick Cave though
holy fuck....7 years have passed so quickly
this is the music that this kids today need to listen
try a band called Lucid Rivers
Jorge Diaz hey some are man
I'm absolutely in love with this.
I know that everyone is paying attention to Elias but oh my god, Johan looks so handsome.
this has the power and intensity of early nick cave songs. but still has it´s complete own style. i love it.
Love the direction they're heading.
ugh so good. and elias is perfect :'(
their second album got me kinda excited but this album... it makes my water mouth like a river
mouth water*
This band is gonna be big
No they won't
SWEETYPOO 21 lol there already becoming big. chill.
Agree
@@victoria.d4763 you were right. He was wrong.
@@alexandermendez4653 they still make great music, though
He's soooo beautiful
I'm glad that they're expanding on their sound, but I'm kinda missing their punk stuff.
Then be happy you have two excellent albums and a few singles worth of the "punk stuff". I myself am all over this and "The Lord's Favorite" and I'm definitely buying *Plowing Into the Field of Love* the day it drops.
Neal Zetek Post Punk , Bluesy, Nick Cave-esque
@@bennyshambles yesssssss. Same. Love all of it. This stuff is great though!!!!
Most beautiful humans alive.
thought this was weird at first & now i think i'm in love
found this song 5 years ago and still obsessed
ok he's officially my celebrity crush
I hope Iceage never will go mainstream.
What's so bad about gaining popularity
SeKc
They lose respect and relevancy.
As long as they do whatever they want and they keep producing awesome shit, I don't really mind.
You don't want this band to succeed? That's cool... I on the other hope this band reaches as many ears as possible so that people will know what great music is.
yourfavoriteweapon92 As far as my experience shows, all the great bands descend into nothingness when they enter the mainstream. Just like Sonic Youth, for example. At least that is my opinion. No matter what, I hope these guys will be squirting out the best music possible.
Took me multiple listens, but I think I finally get it. Still not really my favorite vocal style, but I can appreciate it. Especially when the horn kicks in. The guitar part kinda reminds me of an REM song.
On another note, the video kinda pissed me off with its typical focus on the main characters(most attractive band members) looking all inflective and douchey.
he looks like river phoenix, they both have this emotional depth in their eyes and it's fucking beautiful
I have been meaning to watch this for literally years but only now am I picking it up. my passion project is to archive all of my watch later videos into my playlists properly so they can be shared with the world in some way. this is my joy, but i have many LMAO. that being said, this band's style, while remaining very much their own is very solid in reminding me of Nick Cave and Iggy Pop. Much respect to these guys, for real! Iggy himself even admired the band, or does, as far as I know and/or remember.
lyrics are amazing...the color palette of this video is paying homage to the double life of veronique
they will be the next big thing in rock history.
i loved their second album and this is gonna be better! this single is just amazing! and the video so beautiful
trumpet in this song reminds me of DIJ. sounds really good
I am so glad my friend showed me this incredible band
Solid fucking gold can't wait to hear this project
somebody in a comment section had recommended this music video n im so glad i clicked on it
Just too good, just saw these guys live in Asheville. I will now be able to tell my children that I saw iceage live when they only had 50,000 Facebook likes and then they will proceed to not believe me.
Yes especially the old trumpet player!! 😻

Hahaha I know. It seems like I see you comment on every other video I watch
i know hey do you have a facebook?
binging on iceage videos rn ive come back to this video about 3 times already lmao
Once again I'm falling for elias and iceage🔥
I think the Lord's Favorite pushed me far far away from this album and this song brought me right back in. Fantastic job Iceage.
He is gorgeous
Another one with Gun Club's vibe ,good job
Wasn't sure about this track until the trumpet came in - ace!
esta cancion esta bien chingona
Lmao

the violins at 1:47 make me feel like i'm trying to put thread through the eye of a needle but i've had too much coffee.

He's so sensual.

New album drops on my birthday, sick!
Great track, awesome album.
This band is so amazing and reminds me of post-punk music.
He really is something else; I'm talking a young Leo DiCaprio+ pre-death River Phoenix + gorgeous hot mess! 🤣
pre-death ???? wtf
How do you know what post death river phoenix looks like ?
@@user-ep7sp4nb6v leaked photos
@@user-ep7sp4nb6v I don't know, I just made that up! And I'd have to say it's pretty d*mn good. What I said.
jesus christ im so excited about this new album
this song is amazing live
The Johnny Depp that actually became a rockstar
Didnt know he wanted to be a rockstar, knew he wanted to be a screenwritter tho.
johnny depp fucking wishes he had EBR's talent.
New album will be totally Nick Caved.
The camera loves you, Iceage; as we all do (of course.)
turnin' legendary ...
Nick Cave's pupils!
+Carlos Andrés Shut up.
I could lose myself forever in this song.
This is my anthem.
I thought the strings were a little over the top, but I loved it other than that.
yes please
adorable lovely young boys ... love them !!
DIOS QUÉ HOMBRE TAN BELLO.
😍
Me gusta como la musica parte de lo caótico , a algo mucho más organizado y armónico :3
Will this be available on vinyl in eu ? Or i'll have to pay the enormous shipping ? :D
Enormous shipping for the win!
Love the song I do ! J´aime le Marquis aussi
I love you Per!
gonna die to this song.
♡ Elias ♡
masterpiece
The guitar is alot more compressed on this than on the album version. But the video suits the song well though!
this should replace porn hub
Ella Skinner yeah, it does work for me :3
So pleasant🌿
This song came up as a recommendation. I totally thought it was Rowland s howard for a minute. Sounds just like him.
Epic track.
AWESOME
Fucking bass... Masterpiece. And his voice. Great
River Phoenix meets Nick Cave is the only way I can describe this guy :)
Ville Valo looks young here
Genious!
My mistake. Gothenburg's best metal band, "Ice Age" brought me here.
The singer kinda reminds me of Nick Cave OH MY , good stuff
great!!!!
he can be all up in my guts god dam
No one will be allowed to look or talk or touch anyone good They only try to manipulate your mind and emotions Paul is alright he is with me angels time travel is more efficient than demons pray everyone
damn cool
they're all so god damn hot
love it
please be in london
Thank's to my honey, who dedicated this to me / send to me 😘💗
Is it just me or this song sounds like Joy Division? Elias always reminded me of Ian Curtis for some reason
deliberate, but almost slurry, vocals mayb
I was thinking The Cure at their gothiest.
Adhesive Boi i see that
nick cave. birthday party.
While I can definitely understand the Ian Curtis and Nick Cave comparisons, it's basically just Elias' deep voice and vocal range that invite those comparisons. I actually think he's got his own thing going and his vocals are actually pretty unique in that context. Iceage have always reminded me more of a Post-Hardcore update of their fellow Danish precursors *Sods* aka *Sort Sol*.
Band yang saya suka gaya yah ngeplay banget
I'm getting a Crime and the city solution kinda vibe, anyone else got this?
Yup! Sounds more like Simon Bonney than Nick Cave indeed.
Zoé Braun Well, you can't make punk albums forever right?
Really love this new sound!
me too bro
No. Crime and the city sounds mundane compared to Iceage.
***** I second that emotion. Crime and the City Solution were weak sauce compared to the power of Iceage. Even Rowland S. Howard's signature Jaguar-bred swamp guitar sounds and Epic Soundtracks superbly simplistic drumming couldn't save that band from being a bad Bad Seeds.
미쳤다ㅠㅠㅠ 사랑해☄️☄️☄️☄️☄️☄️☄️☄️
when he give u that look 3:28
Sepia Rock
kocham
Nice! Some post-punk, definitely some shoegaze, and maybe a tiny dash of black metal.(in the drum beats and vocals at some parts) And then finishes off with a psychedelic rock feel with those spanish trumpet sounds.. Fantastic!!! This is the first i've heard from this band. I think its cool that people are saying "this band has changed, and i like their new stuff" usually people hate any time a band changes at all. I'll definitely check out their older stuff too. Also don't get upset by the genres i used to describe this, its just my opinion.
I bet that mic smells great.
