Flynns life wasn´t tragic, he loved life and he lived it as he wanted. Many men would love to live a life like Flynn did. We ordinary people, we live tragic lives without any meaning.

You should read David Niven's books "The Moons a balloon" & "Bring on the empty horses" some brilliant stories about Himself and Errol Flynn.

The movie with guy pierce don´t show the truth about Flynns youth in New Guinea. Instead "In Like Flynn" about Flynns time in New Guinea, this movie shows the real truth based of Flynns biography Beam Ends.

@@margaretkerr4591 The one with pierce is a motion picture, but In Like Flynn is more based on a true story, even if all in it is not totally true, but more true than the pierce version is. In Like Flynn is based on Flynns first book. Flynns grandson was there when they made this movie.

he got all the women except Olivia de Havilland... and she was the only woman he respected.
He didn't fancy her. She was attractive but not what you might call sexy

By the time you're 40, you understand that Errol's life was actually kind of par for the course. The "ups" he experienced were probably greater than the average life, but almost everybody has "downs" as bad as his.
