Just a little tip, if you buy pretend silver or gold, after wearing it, make sure you put it away in a little seal plastic bag, a small sandwich bag will do, flattening it so that there is little air left in there. I have found that they does not tarnish then. This also applies to silver chains or pendants. Something else if you are cleaning as above in the sink, make sure you put the plug in so if any small parts break off while cleaning, you can save them.
I bought a fake gold chain in a seal plastic bag..forgot I bought it and then when I saw it again it was tarnished.... :((
Doesn’t work
1somebody I used to work with coming to do that/and literally my earrings have lasted!! that I am cheap but I'm one to loose alot of very $$$ Jewelery In the past/so angry when I loose It!🙆😥😡
I just needed to say thank you with more than just a thumbs up. I bough a cheep princess tiara for my girlfriend like 4 years ago. It got really rusted over the years. I Tried cleaning it with a more complicated method but it just didn't work. I tried this and it looks like new. She is now planing on wearing it for our wedding in a few months. So thanks again this was a huge help.
How was the wedding?
Aw thats cute, congrats!
If it turns your skin green like a ring or something, put a coat or two of clear nail polish on the inside of the ring. It should stop it from doing so. Hope it helps
thank you
Thanks you, I never thought of that
@@veemontana718thanks
Only thing about this is how the skin will react to the nail polish, different person's.
I have heard of the toothpaste one before but for the jewelry I was trying to clean today this did not work but mixing white vinegar salt and water in a bowl and scrubbing it with a toothbrush worked Miracles hope this helps
Does this method work
@@Slattboi23 that's on way to rub the gold right off so dont
Great tip. The baking soda foil hot water combo works on silver I had badly tarnished silver and it comes up like new!
OMG thank u sooooo much for this video. I've been throwing away all my fake/tarnished jewelry and constantly replacing it. You are soo going to save me a ton of money! Thanks again!
My mom was throwing her earring out.
Me: MOM DON'T DO THIS! I AM GONNA RESCUE THEM!
Me: Comes to video.
Yay, thank you. This method restored a necklace my daughter gave me as a Mothers Day gift, bought at Kohls. We previously had sour faces when it got drab but now we are smiling again :)
Wow! I didn't know this one. Thank you for sharing!

hahaha
Oh my god feels so good seeing one of your initial videos. I have been following you for 4 yrs I guess and I so enjoy your videos
starts method at 3:11 - use toothpaste and scrub with toothbrush, then rinse and dry well right away.
This is a life saver. I used to throw away my old jewelry but now I'll definitely clean them like this!!! Thanx!!!
I just wanted to say thank you very very much for refreshing my memory on how to clean cheap jewelry you really saved my butt with my wife's pendant that she has because I put it in the wrong cleaner because she told me it was real silver but it actually wasn't and she was devastated when it got tarnished but with this method I was able to bring it back to life so thank you very much again I liked the video and subscribed to your channel and I also hit the notification bell as well !!!! And p.s. this method made the pendant look alot better than when we first had purchased the pendant so thanks a million 😊
7 years ago and Your still freaking awesome with this informative information
Quick, to the point, and so helpful!! Thank you💎
This was great thank you x Straight to the point no flicking of the hair , pouting etc etc lol !! GRT INFO ! MUCH LOVE FROM THE UK X
Would this work for a ring? I have a silver emerald ring that I wear everyday and I noticed around the back some rusty looking spots. This is my favorite ring and it was my great grandmothers ring so I wanna keep it in good condition.
So needed this for my Forever 21 jewelry!! Great tip!
I like all your videos. They are informative and full of life. This information is very helpful. I was looking for it for long time. Thank you for the video!!!!
I have never thanked anyone for a google tip until now. But you sererve it!!!! Your toothpaste method for cleaning base metal jewelry made two beautiful ankle bracelets I bought in India for 2 USD each!!!!! look like sterling silver as they did the day I bought them 1 1/2 years ago! MIRACLE
I tried this right after I watched the video above and IT WORKED!!! I couldn't believe it. I purchased a necklace from Urban Outfitters for like, $16 a couple months ago. It's a thin chain with a small "gold" bar (that's really made of "mixed metal", it's says on their website). It has a small 'a' on it for my daughter's name, anyway, it became tarnished-like more dark then gold colored. It looked grossed so I haven't worn it for awhile... :( This toothpaste+toothbrush+scrubbing method worked really well, and it's super easy; no time at all. It's not as shiny as it used to be (as expected, I suppose), but the varnish disappeared! I wish I would have known about this a long time ago. The only tip I have is be careful with inexpensive jewelry when scrubbing, don't do it too hard! Thanks for listening!!!
This is off subject but I started shopping at Urban Outfitters (online) like a year ago and i was buying sale items I ran acrossed a shirt with a pentagram and bought it. I have realized it is Satanic totally the eyes are in the pyramids at each tip of the star. Then I went into the store and was looking around and came acrossed Tarot Cards ( I used to use tarot cards for years and guess who showed up) I am shocked that store would sell something like that kids are going to buy those type of products that is not good. I just wanted to let u know about it.
This lady is a jewelry saver! Thank you!
Thanks again for a great tip Katherine. Love, love, love, your videos, I always come away feeling so informed!!! :) Anna

I used this method on my Harry Potter time turner, and it really worked 👍🏻👍🏻
so cool - definitely going to try this!
Shared you on my FB. Thanks girl! Great help!
I've done this before and it does work really well. The only thing is that I find after a few days, even if I haven't worn them, they start to tarnish again. Not sure why, maybe I'm not storing them correctly. Any ideas for that?
will that work if I got a ring from Clair's and when I put water it gets dirty

Does this week for gold plated jewellery? Price around 40-50 dollars?
It worked! I was skeptical that it wouldn’t work on my cheap jewelry that tarnished by my humidifier over the winter months. But it got rid of it all! Here’s a tip though: wear gloves, or else your hands will feel a bit minty from the toothpaste 🤣 my hands are tingling
